Why does not TR have 167 dmg carbine?

Yea I know you weren't QQing.

The truth is that carbines losing two damage tiers over range just nails their efficiency outside of 30/40 metres. 167 carbines are marginally better at range, considering they all fire slower, you need to be a better player or get the drop on your target to win with them comfortably. Having a 143 carbine for long range isn't so bad, the advanced forward grip, will be the thing that makes it work. Then again use the BR if you are engi, and if you're LA don't shoot stuff that far away.

    Fixed.

And if you're not in this thread to discuss carbines then sort your life out.

Where are these fine statistics from?
  4. Satanam

Well, this is not a thread about carbines only.

And if you're not in this thread to discuss TR and NC stuff then sort your life out.

It's not all about one stat. Max damage is just one stat man. If you got more rounds per mag and a higher RoF your DPS is comparable to a carbine with 167 damage, low RoF, and smaller mag. Like the Pulsar C for VS... it does 167 max damage BUT it's RoF is slow motion compared to TR guns.

Plus the standard issue TRAC 5 is a great gun. I'd take it over the VS standard issue Solstice any day and I love VS guns overall compared to TR guns.

That said... I'm not necessarily opposed to TR getting a 167 dmg carbine but don't expect it to have a 40 round mag and awesome RoF and small CoF and low recoil per shot. I mean there's give and take here so don't think you're going to get the next OP weapon of the month =P It will prolly suck in it's own special way.

Every empire weapon have some something better and something worse than the other empires. TR weapons can shoot fast but their damage is average, NC have good damage but big recoil and VS have no bullet drop but their damage is lower than the TR one i think.

If the TR were given a 167 damage carbine with as many flaws as the GD-7F has, they wouldn't use it, period.

Take the AMC and give it 30 rounds of 167, double the reload, and triple the first shot multiplier and we're talking. If anything you should be complaining that all classes can use improved TR carbines in the 2nd gen SMGs, not about a gun hardly anybody uses anymore.

TR SMGs are next to worthless. We have better weapon options available for every class except the Infiltrator.

The only thing the Flare and Ursa have in common is their 167 damage rate you tool.
Flare is for medium range low ROF high damage like a Polaris, Ursa is for long range slow ROF, like an SV88

167 damage is a world of difference because it's one less bullet to kill. and that can be crucially important when the majority of infantry are heavy assault

The 2nd gen is nice, but pretty much common pool. NC got the best first-gen SMG by a wide margin. The 2nd gen is a monster though. The damage ain't huge but it sprays like crazy and - more importantly - has a huge mag and swift reload.

I love my Mercenary (not as much as my Razor though) AND I love my TRAC-5, for entirely different reasons. I feel like the TRAC may be a better carbine for the traditional role carbines are meant to play, but the Merc is better in the hands of someone with the experience to control the engagement distance.

The extra bullets in the mag are pretty much the main selling point though. More bullets is ALWAYS better, hence why you see the 2nd gen SMGs all over the damn place but hardly any X11's or Reapers
  13. Bankrotas

Be cautious though, stat's in there are collected from release and are not representative of current situation.

With 652 rpm? You kidding me? You do understand, it would be op as **** weapon. Our Cyclone sacrifices a lot to have 652 rpm and 167 damage, this would be very powerful carbine with better range, huge muzzle velocity and 30 base bullets, that's damn op.

My main problem with the Carbines is that they don't really feel / look very different from each other. I haven't actually used the Jaguar but TRAC 5 is a good gun, so is Lynx and TRAC 5S (boom!) and i even like the T5 AMC, but they don't have much variety in them, only slightly different stats, whereas NC have more variety in their carbines. I'm not saying they are better, just more interesting to try them all out. Can't really say for the VS, as i haven't used / looked at the carbine selection there, but i think they have a similar problem we TR do.

I think it we be more fun for everyone involved if the guns actually had wider variety, with significant differences to the stats so that they felt different, and were more focused on specialised roles, with the starter gun maintaining it's versatile, all-rounder role.

    Regarding the T5 AMC, which i also would like to see reworked a bit to make it more long range, possibly even 167 damage tier at the cost of other stats, Wrel has made a good video about it;

Both are good for mid/long ranged combat. Ursa is better at sustained fire though whereas the Flare encourages bursts. Both SVA-88 and Polaris favour mid range(as their stats does not favour long distances either through damage or RPM). 167 DMG LMGs might require one less bullet to kill they're also less accurate(more recoil) and have worse RPM.

Against HAs with shields being able to land several headshots is better than raw damage. The T5 AMC, weapon showcased in SifuBob's post, is awesome for this. This is also why SVA-88, CARV, and MSW-R are considered to be so deadly. You fire lots and lots of bullets and several of them are probably going to hit your head.

Granted, the Ursa do lend itself to high aim gamers. Its downfall, however, is the rather low RPM which makes it worse the closer you get. In short, I do not agree with you on this one, and I do not understand the fascination with 167 DMG weapons. TR's got their unique T5 AMC and VS/NC got their own "unique" weapons...
  17. Epic High Five

Yeah, I thought it was lower for some reason AND I forgot to mention that there already exists a 167 dmg gun that is hilariously hamstrung - the Corvus! Just imagine the Corvus with carbine minimum damage and that'd what the TR 167 analogue to the 7F would be.

The main problem with the TR carbines is that there's no reason to use anything but the default. The TRAC 5 ****** owns. It's not quite "I feel like I'm cheating" like the TRV but it'll do.
