This issue seems to not only occur on Briggs, but on American and European servers aswell.
You might want to take a look at what is going on over there.

This is the first I've heard of that. Briggs has it after every patch/maintenance for a few days straight. It has killed the server more than anything else.

I've noticed the login times have gone back to the way they were, and now I get a crash every other hour.

Glad to hear something is being done about this, unfortunately I'm not a global network specialist or I'd try to help out.
I still find it inrcredibly strange that i'm sitting here in melbourne but connecting to the US is faster than sydney and sometimes i just give up when it takes so long. I'd hate to have to retire my briggs characters, they're my highest level ones
So keep working on it, you'll get it done

Yeah it might be why most of my outfit is longer around.

Thx to SOE for finally looking in to it and trying to solve the issues.

    Thanks heaps to RadarX.

Glad you guys are working on a fix.

Edit: Actually thanks to all the team working on this issue!

This is not the same issue. The data I mention that is getting delayed exists in the same datacenter for the US servers so there is no delay. Please report any other similar issue outside of Briggs in the tech forum and we can certainly look into it..

Yes but patches aren't the direct cause. Patches cause population to increase, increased population causes congestion and consequently this problem.

This problem is strongly correlated with peak usage for our timezone. Try logging in in the morning for Sydney and you'll get in instantly.

Hey folks...did you notice how civilized and respectful the comments were from the Briggs server compared to other servers?
Have a quick read and compare.
We should be extremely proud of ourselves and the manner in which we represent the gaming community and support the game.
The Briggs server has very, very few of the behavioral problems that other servers seem to be plagued with.
I tip my hat to you all, actually..its a helmet, but the premise is the same.

    Good on ya cobbers...

Maybe we could throw a hook on Australia and yank it over a bit closer to the west cost, possibly a few notches north so they can get some snow!

    lol.
I hear ya, but I am sure we can find some dbags from everywhere!
    Your not that special! lol

I'm in the US but play on Briggs, and it's definitely noticeable in-game as well. :)
  13. Statigus

That's probably cause you're playing from the US. In-game is fine for me in Sydney, but Australian evenings and weekends definitely have a mighty delay on the Login server.
  14. JokeForgrim

So... I am from australia. Yet I have had a minimum 5minutes load time.

Please just release my client info to my player, Im sure i could create a virtual server and log in faster than your own server does. Also, I have created a connorey player and it logs on like my briggs character used to. Funny how i can lag ping across the world and log in faster than pinging to my own c(o)untry then asking for uploads from vegas to fill in the blanks....

Maybe you might have to create a false log in server over here and get updates once an hour (it wont affect me and my friends (the 5 aussie players on briggs) as we send eachother our "live" kill feed and it doesnt update until we log off usually) so yeah once an hour would probs be better than client-decide.

Also I dont understand it, I know we are running on copper wire and satellites but i can ping to the US with less ping than they can ping back, maybe thats a thing worth looking into. Maybe SOE AU or SOE Global might be worth the investment, Just UPGRADE NOW!

I'm pretty sure I stand for every person on Briggs when I say this,
But is there a way you can allow the game to record how long we've been participating in alerts so when we crash 2 minutes before the alert ends we don't lose an hour of participation just because it takes so dam long to log back in during an alert? More and more people are reluctant to participate in these alerts due to that reason, its sad and demoralizing to work with your faction for 1 hour + just to crash and wait for a half hour login back into the game :(
If you can record how much time I have till I can spawn another vehicle, even after I log off, I'm pretty sure you can keep a record of how long ive been in an alert?

And I appreciate the post from you RadarX about this, even if you haven't got a solid solution yet it still makes me (and I'm sure every other Briggs player) happy to know that you are aware of our situation, and are keeping us up to date.

Wondering why you don't cache the most recently used logon's for lets say the last 7 day locally then they fall off. That way majority of the prime time/plays a lot crowd can get fast logons while keeping the majority of abandoned and once in a while players on the main SOE server in vegas. If its a software thing then run a manual backup of a cluster of the db. I am like 99% sure you guys had this technology in Everquest 2 b/c i remember month or so after launch something similar they the instituted this and only if you were gone for a few weeks did you get a longer logon and at that time its like "meh i am not playing much anyways".

I definitely appreciate the depth of explanation. And frankly, it's good to know that it's not just an issue that's local to the shaken-up city where I live ;-)

You guys are quite literally the only company in the world that cares about the aussie server in their game. you get infinite credit from me

yeah. thats great and all but 2 things. one is that this problem has been going for faaaar longer than you care to admit. at least since last november AT LEAST.
aand what are you gonna do to make up for all the players we lost aye? you're lucky there are still people on briggs. it is common to see days during the week wih less than 100 people tops on brigs. how, just how are you gonna make it up to us? the damage is done. there is hardly anyone playing furing the wek and barely 400 at prime time. too little too late soe. too little too late.

however, i must commend you on taking a look. so good job.

That happens to me and my buddy at lest once an hour were are ping gos into the thousands. Weird stuff happen whene are ping is that high like infinte jetpack fuel, guns looking like they are shooting but no bullets come out, and spawning inside a crate. None of this messes up the game but it does get anyoning.
