    i7 950 3,06ghz
    club3d radeon 5850 oc edition
    12ghz ddr3
    SSD

I play on almost lowest custom settings and i get 15-30 fps when **** hits the fan.

Can someone recommend upgrades for my PC?

I've been thinking of buying a new high end gpu. I suppose in planetsides case NVIDIA would be better then ati?

Also, can anyone tell their experience with SLI. Is single gpu better for ps2?

If I did buy a killer gpu, can my cpu handle it without bottle necking or would I be required to buy a new cpu aswell for smooth performance on max settings?

    CPU: X4 Phenom 960T 3GHz
    GPU: 560Ti 1Gb (drvr v.306.97)
    RAM: 4Gb DDR3
    SD: Sg 7200rpm HDD
    OS: 7 x64

Renderdistance in .ini set to 1000. No AA/AF/VS/blur. Particles, terrain, effects set to low, the rest at high/med. 1600x900.

I get ~60 fps at the warpgate, 25-30 fps in large fights with OCCASIONAL SPIKES DOWN TO 2-12 FPS for 5-15 seconds. Completely playable, but sometimes leads to slightly frustrating situations. I can deal with that, but it could be better.
I'm CPU bottlenecked, that's no surprise, but I still blame the devs for lack of CPU usage.
  3. Zack

    Windows 7
    16GB DDR3 RAM
    GTX 680
    i7 2700K

    At warp - 60-80 frames
In Battles - 40 or lower (usually around 30)
  4. CyborgDragon

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, x64
    RAM: 8GB DDR3-1600 RAM
Video: AMD Radeon HD 7870, clocked at 1.1GHz
CPU: AMD Phenom II x4 945, clocked at 3.0GHz
    HDD: 1TB with 173GB free

    FPS at warpgate: 60-80
    FPS in battles: 30-40
Occasionally, once every 10-20 minutes, and usually lasting for one to two minutes, my FPS will drop to 1 to 10 frames per second. This makes the game near unplayable. During these 'downtimes' in FPS, the in-game FPS displays says it's my CPU limiting it, however, at any other time, even in battles, it says it's my GPU. Also, any time I'm in menus for a long period of time, or go into menus in an active battle, it drops to 10-15 FPS. When this happens, menu buttons and images take a while to load, 30 seconds to two minutes.

make sure you deleted the beta planetside 2 exactly as they told you too. make suer to delete the npsoeact and the useroption.ini
then reinstall the game, making sure its all totaly deleted.

i hope that solves your issue, because when i didnt uninstall the beta client how they told me i had the same issue.
  6. RekCor

    I7 3820 4.3 ghz OC
MSI GTX 670 2 gb OC to 1200 mhz
    8 gbs ram 1666
    Gigabyte UD3 x79 mobo

    35-80 fps all high
  7. Spliffey

    GTX560Ti
    Q6600 @ 2,6 Ghz
    ASUS P5N-E
    6 GB DDR3 @ 800

One of the lower end systems in here i realize. Getting an average of 30 fps near warpgates and uncontested area's/bases. Drops below 10 fps during medium battles. I'm not asking much, if i can maintain 25-30 fps during battle i would be quite happy.

    Updates are coming : http://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/quick-note-on-optimization.49152/

*** I got rid of the CPU Usage, when i used the ULTRA settings (config mod) - (found in the forum)
The Graphic Setting Bars hadnt any content (were epmty).

than i switched the Settings Ingame to "HIGH".

The CPU Usage dissappears and GPU Usage is present.
Now i have constantly 35-40 FPS - even in Big Battles.
Its not perfect, but more playable.

And Im happy about the upcoming Updates. =)
  9. InfectiousFight

    Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16hz
    nVidia GeForce GTX 560 Ti
    4.00gb RAM
    Vista 64-bit Ultimate

Settings are all on high as cranking them all the way down has absolutely no effect on framerate at all.

    FPS under various loads:
    Low --> 30fps
    High --> 10fps, sometimes 5fps
    Usual Combat --> ~15fps

FPS is usually smooth and stable, but always low. Frequently the game will stop rendering frames at all for noticeable periods of time, sometimes fractions of a second (but far too often) when in flight, sometimes on the ground for several seconds. The game will immediately resume at some point at full performance as if nothing had happened.

It goes without saying that I'm always CPU-bound.

Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 (Bios Up to Date for my CPU)
    AMD Phenom2 x6 1090T (6x3,2 ghz)
GeForce GTX 560Ti (OC Edition (Twin fan..bla bla bla...))
4 GB DDR2 (OCZ) (Overclocked but stable (test it with memtest for hours)
    Creative X-FI Audio (PCI)
2x HDD Samsung 1TB (7200rpm) (but not in Raid mode)
16 M-Bit ADSL Connetion with fastpath (11ms on www.google.de (cmd ping))
    Windows 7 x64

    Driver Side Settings:
No forced FXAA or AA (Application Controlled)
Multi Display Mode (i have 2 Screens)
PhysX on Auto (i think the driver use GPU)
    Texture filtering Quality: Performance Mode
Power management Mode: Prefer maxmum performance
Everything else is on Default settings

    HDD Driver:
AMD SATA Controller (Onboard Chip AMD770)
No IDE Driver (crapy old IDE Driver give less performance)

Every Driver is Up to Date
All Windows Updates but tweaked (Every useless service stoped)
PS2 is running on high Prio.

    FPS
No Diff. between Graphic Settings (but the GPU useage is inside some Menu´s at 100% (kinda funny to hear my Fan spinning to max RPM just in menu)

In open field no enemy just me alone ~40...45 fps
    In small wars ~30 FPS
Big Wars ~20-15 FPS (near to unplayebel... its just not smooth anymore and have a bad reaction timing than)

Did i forget something? just ask something and i will give u that Info.

I installed the 310.61 Nvidia beta drivers and saw a small (5 fps or so) increase in frame rate with my Nvidia 560 TI 2GB card.

Word of warning. Milage may vary and I have been bit before by the Nvidia beta drivers so be careful. I have not tested these drivers with my other games to see if they made those worse or cause them to crash yet.

    Intel i7 2600K - 4.5Ghz
Nvidia 560 TI 2048 MB Video Card
    8 GB Ram
    Windows 7 64 Bit

40-50 fps in large fights at High settings with Vsync enabled as only change. I did set PhysX to the GPU in the NVIDA control panel but the overlay says it's used by the CPU regardless when playing PS2 so I don't think that matters at all. Alt-f says the game is GPU bound.
  12. MykeMichail

    i5-750
    GTX560 Super Overclock
    4 GB DDR-1333 Mhz RAM
    Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Getting 20-30 FPS in big fights with very occasional dips to 15 FPS. This is on the lowest settings possible.

Adjusting the resolution/render quality doesn't seem to alter performance.
  13. noMnoM

    c2d e7200 @ 3.73ghz
    4gb 1066 ddr2
    evga gtx 460 1gb
    asus p5ql pro
    realtek 889 onboard sound
    win7 ultimate 64-bit

get 15-40 on med + low in large battles. steady 100 out in the open.

had insane stuttering with the new nv beta drivers. reverting to the last stable release fixed that for me.
  14. Cydious

    Thank you for helping,

i've tried with same result :( going completely crazy about this FPS drop !
  15. ErrantPilot34

    Sig.
    I usually get 15-20 for big/smaller battles...and 20-30/40(maybe) for just walking around/warpgate

Then again it's most likely because I'm on a laptop...
  16. AlexeZ

    CPU: AMD Fx(tm) - 8150 8 Core 3.6 Ghz (overclocked to 3.9)
    RAM: 32GB DDR3 1333
GPU: 2x AMD Radeon HD 6950 running in CrossFire
    HDD: SSD 240gb - 1TB HDD Sata 6 + 1.5TB sata 6
    Motherboard: Asus Crosshair V Formula
    OS: Window 7 Ultimate x64

I can run most games at max graphic to get my 60 FPS (Vert sync on), but this game with everything at low (Vert sync On) i get no more than 40 FPS, down to 5 fps when the battle is huuge.

    I still don't know why
  17. Tipsy McStagger

    AMD Phenom X6 1100T 3.3GHz
    Nvidia 660 Ti
    8gig of RAM
  18. Legitsu

its not hardware related its the game its self
  19. FRO7EN

Dropping down into 40's in large battles...
  20. Silvion

    CPU-- AMD FX 6100 3.3GHz 6 Core
GPU-- 2 Radeon HD 7770's in crossfire
    RAM-- 16 GB DDR3
    MB -- Gigabyte 970A-UD3
    OS -- Windows 7 Home Premium 64

I get 50 to 60 fps at warp gate, 35 to 50 in small battles, 18-30 at large battles or at BIO plants.
