    Core 2 Quad Q6600, stock clocks 6-9 * 266MHz = 2.4GHz, overclocked to 6-8 * 375MHz = 3GHz
    - (Prime stable and temps have some room for more, but system crashes mysteriously when I try to go higher)
Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R, Arctic Cooling Freezer 13 Pro
Sapphire Radeon Vapor-X HD 7770 GHz Edition OC, stock overclocked
    - (yes, I know the board can't transmit data as fast as this card would like)
    8GB Corsair DDR2 800MHz @ 750MHz
    - (1:1 FSB:RAM)
HDD 200GB SATA1, + an external for data
    1280x1024 TFT
    - (next part to be upgraded :D)
    Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

    Settings:
Render Quality 100%, FPS limited in INI to 60
    Textures Ultra (INI 0)
Graphics, Lighting, Terrain, Particles = High
Shadows, Effects, Flora, Model = Medium
Fog Shadows, Ambient Occlusion = On
    VSync, Motion Blur = Off

    FPS:
    Warpgate: ~45
Battles around 100 or so people: 10~20, mostly close to 15

System after tabbing out of PS2 (after some 10mins of moving about and a small-to-mid sized battle)

    Update:

I installed a Hyper 212 Plus cooler on my CPU and spent the past two days getting a nicely stable overclock (first time! :D)

At an overclock of 3.5Ghz, I saw a HUGE performance boost. Warpgate gave me 40-50fps; pretty much all areas and situations gave me a 10-15 fps boost. There were still dips to just below 10fps in high-action environments like the bases, but a lot less often. I very happily played for 3-4 hours last night at an average of ~20fps.

CPU usage was only at around 70-80% in most cases; GPU usage was at 90+% in most cases.

Given a better optimization of this game, I'm confident I'll be running a stable 20-30fps at all times, which could not make me happier. Keep up the great work, SoE!

    Intel i7 3960x 5ghz
    evga x2 570 2.5
    240g corsair force 3 ssd
    16gb corsair vengence (quad channel)
    Win 7 ultimate 64
Before the last patch i had no problems running at a constant of 120fps, now it get rapid fluxing changes but mainly staying under 25fps.
  4. NyaR

    Windows 8
    8GB Ram @1333
    Phenom x6 @ 4.125GHZ
    OCZ SSD
    XFX Radeon 7970

    Win 7 x64 and Win 8 x64

I have about 30 fps whenever it matters, give or take 10. 60-80 fps when nothing is going on.
  5. Emitz Devil

    Windows 7 64bit
    NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670
    INTEL i7-3770k 3.5Ghz
    DDR3 16gb RAM

Everything on LOW, using latest beta drivers too.

20 - 50 FPS in WG and Traveling. (Crown etc)
random drops as low as 4 Frames at any given point, between 20-30 in large fights, FPS is fairly stable until gun is fired or get fired upon.

GPU usage is always between 20%-65%
    CPU usage:
    - A single core never gets above 60%
-Majority of the time 3/4 cores are below 45%
  6. Aeonvalen

AMD Phenom II X4 3.10 GHz
    4GB DDR3
    AMD Radeon HD 6870

Get 30+ FPS in open, uncrowded areas.
In battles with 10 or more people it drops to 5-20 FPS
  7. UKFX

    Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium.
    Intel Core i5-2500K @ 3.8GHz.
    MSI 1GB Radeon HD 6870 OC Edition - OC'd to 940MHz Core Clock / 1075MHz Memory Clock
TeamGroup Elite 8GB 1600Mhz DDR3 in Dual Channel Mode.
    Seagate Barracuda 1TB.
    Paging File - Off

High Load Frame Rate - Approximately 80-90fps (at 1080p Fullscreen All Medium)
Low Load Frame Rate - Approximately 27-40fps (at 1080p Fullscreen All Medium)

Note: Changing from 80 down to 40fps, may not sound bad, but 40fps is not smooth after enduring 80fps.
  8. SirClip

    Windows 7 64-Bit Premium
    Intel Core i7 920 @ 3.2 Ghz (OC'd from 2.7, Watercooled)
    Radeon HD 7850 2GB OC'd to 980 / 1250
    Corsair 10 GB 1333Mhz DDR3
Toshiba 500GB HD (only 70 GB worth of games installed on there, rest of it is empty. Load times are fantastic as a result!)
    Resolution 1920 x 1080

Game Settings: All medium, render distance dropped to 2500 in UserSettings.ini

High FPS: Mostly indoors and when there aren't a lot of people around when indoors : 70 - 80
Typical FPS: ~35-40 in most all other situations
Low FPS: 25 during night battles outside/around the outside of facilities/cap points, any battle over 20 or 30 people.

I ran this game on 2 machines, one got low framerates, the other had good framerates. Both computers were set to Medium graphics. Compare the two and see what you need to upgrade for better performance.

Here are the specs of both computers:

10-30 fps average, 15 max in big fights:
    Windows XP Pro sp3
    2gb 1333 RAM (DDR2 I think)
    AMD Athlon 64 x2 3.0Ghz
    ATI Radeon HD 5770
    450W Power Supply
    320gb SATA HDD

50-60 fps average, 30-40 in Bio-lab AND a huge fight going on:
    Windows 7 Pro 32bit
8gb 1600 RAM DDR3 (I know only 4 is usable due to 32bit limitation, but I'm getting 64bit OS soon...)
    AMD FX-4100 3.6Ghz, Over Clocked to 4.0Ghz
ATI Radeon HD 5770 (Same GPU)
    500W Power Supply
    320gb SATA HDD (Same HDD)

The second build listed is an upgrade of the previous, and is the one I am currently running. The FPS counter shows that I am GPU bound, so the FX-4100 processor is capable of running PlanetSide 2 even better as long as I upgrade my GPU or turn down the graphics settings.

I hope this was useful to any who are thinking on upgrading their machines for this game.

    ASUS Sabertooth 990FX AMD 990FX AM3+ Motherboard
    AMD FX-8120 X8 3100MHZ 16MB 125W AM3+
    Corsair Vengeance 16GB DDR3 1866MHz 4x4GB
EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti SuperClocked 1GB GDDR5 (my DXDIAG says 4gb not 1gb)
Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 800w Power Supply
    Using Windows 7 Home Premium
    120GB SATA3 SSD
    1TB SATA3 HDD

I have a lot of graphics glitching and low fps. The game will lag out for 15-20 seconds at a time. I am only able to play for a short time and then the game is unplayable. All settings are stock on my hardware. I have not OC'd and don't desire to.

    Check signature.

Can go as low as 24 FPS with medium sized fights or just looking at a bio lab.

    Windows 7 64bit
    Intel Core i7 3770 3.40 GHz
    16 GB RAM
    AMD Radeon HD 7570 725MB

I can barely get this game to give me 30FPS consistently - I stripped it all down to bare bones except Medium Graphics, to see infiltrators. I'd say firefights I'm in the 20-25 range. Tried the docking/undocking cores, didn't help at all. Still love the game, and I'll patiently wait for the optimization =)

    AMD Phenom X6 1090T Black Edition OC@ 4.2GHz
    Asus Crosshair V Formula
    Asus GTX 680
    RipJaws- 16GB Ram
    Corsair H100 Cooler
    Corsair HX850W Power supply
    Windows 8 64bit

1080/1920 I have everything on high Big battles- 20-30 But it never stays at 30 usually 20 25 unplayable plus 70% of the time im in Big fights small fights- 50+ Warpgate 70+ something like that.
I'm one of these guys who cant stand 30FPS people who say there are know difference between 30 to 60 you clearly dont play 60fps or higher, It just runs really smoothly and when it goes to 30 its all slow and crap.

Hopefully for xmas getting a couple of upgrades- i7 3770K and a Asus Sabertooth z77 so hopefully that will fix an issue. Plus it will be my first intel CPU, I play lots of intensive games and Just want a Best experience.
