Sounds like a Problem with your ISP. I think its not launcher releated. Perhaps a problem with the DNS Server or their backbone.
Its not just comcast, there are other providers with the same issue, and not just the US. Is that web based launcher legit?
Yes it's legit. It doesn't seem to work for some people that are playing via Steam and to be honest before today when I started poking around I didn't even know there was a web launcher. That's why I was thinking it's something with the desktop client. Who knows... I'm just glad it works for me! It's my day off and all I wanted to do today was play PS.

i play thru steam and you're probably right..the launcher only works with the stand alone client. since nothing is being resolved here as of yet im going to go ahead and download it and try the web based launcher again. quick edit: you cant even install the game (non steam). it hangs up with the 4-404 error.
In a simple trace of the server that launch pad uses shows that it does in fact reach the server. It is on their side. WireShark is not showing anything unusual as well.
it's most likely on their end.... here is my tracert...the first hops are all local and no problem at all.. >20 ms ping times... i play on mattherson if that makes any difference

Progress indicator turning some seconds -> error message I first tried the older hint of deleting the cache, to no avail. I could use the direct connect over the web application, but ingame, ALL UI texts are missing. Mostly goes either ##UI.*text* or just <ERROR>.
