As to why we didn't tell you earlier: We honestly weren't sure when the update would go out, and promising a date and not meeting it would be worse than not saying when it would be. We wanted to get this thing well polished and ensure that we wouldn't be creating more work for ourselves, especially because a lot of people are out of the office for the holidays now (and we don't want to make anyone come in during their vacation).
