You post far too much fluff for that.

It's just a matter of time till you admit you're only doing this because you're bored at work <3
  2. Aneuren Tempered Steel

Yes, but it's somehow missing Godwin's law. Early yet, I suppose.
  3. Syrup Augur

of course... otherwise we would be online playing!! :D

You've said it "scares people away" - directly speaking you're correct, same net effect though - especially since we know these games have a domino effect where one people quitting triggers others to, etc.

But sorry for changing it from "scaring lots of people away" (paraphrased, I'm not looking up your exact phrasing before you nitpick that) like you actually quoted to "him" - I made it sound less bad than your Chicken Little impression.

Fact is you were saying it would run people off. Period. Whom is a minor detail in your message - and certainly not a BALD-FACED lie.
  5. Syrup Augur

I said quote me.... not try to backpeddle on your lies.
  6. Vaclav Augur

There's a recent quote - and you've said similar in other days - but I'm too damn lazy to go that far through your posting history for even more similar to what I said.

Fact remains you said people would quit (or more accurately - implied it heavily. We all know what "fizzle out" means that in regards to an EQ1 server however).

Same message, just "people will quit" vs. "Syrup will quit" as I stated. Boo-hoo - a detail being off is hardly a bald-faced lie, the core message was accurately represented - "People will quit" and "I don't like it". (Which is where the mash up of "Syrup will quit" became a very easy conclusion to leap to...)

Vaclav - I'll do the work for you.

"Except i never claimed it to be thriving... you're moving the goalposts without addressing the argument.
Take the ever out of everquest and people will complete content and quit to find something that keeps them on the hook in record times.
You think turnover is high on the current TLP servers, just wait till this instanced disaster unfolds."
"Or maybe the reason this 16 year old game is still running is because it offers what no others do... non-instanced content."
"No, it would be easy, tedious and the rewards for winning events is trivialized.
I can't imagine a game less fufiling than instanced classic everquest"
"Server will be a ghost town in less than 6 months.
Instancing takes the ever out of everquest."
"You'll level to 50 and get full best in slot in less than 2 months as a casual, then you will quit cause you can't roll a box or compete/interact with other players in any meaningful way."
And all of this talk is because of his earlier quote where he said, "I'm worried they will implement this instancing on current TLP servers."

    Implied, but it's obvious.

Yea, still technically he never said "he'd quit" just that the server would die. He could still use the same double talk which really doesn't matter - he can still try to present the image he's making of a server with only him playing on it, or whatever fever dream he's trying to claim as reality - while claiming his doomcrying over instancing isn't crybabying.

And mind you in the other thread today, he already admitted he is a quitter anyhow:
He had quit these servers before because of the rotations - so yea, no reason to think he might personally quit at the drop of a hat again. Especially for something that's a rotation proxy.

Again he never TECHNICALLY said it - but the writing is clearly on the wall.

    /rolleyes

It's propaganda and politics. Lets spread the most misinformation and be the loudest!

Wouldn't it just be easier to save face and walk away with your tail between your legs?

I was talking about how people will burn out of the server, not quit if it's implemented - you can't even find a relevant post to quote to back up your lies.

And none of those things say i will quit if they instance it.
You added nothing to the conversation
Par for the course on a Lee81 post.
  11. Lee81 Augur

Sir, did you notice that I said implied?

    Imply:

    1) strongly suggest the truth or existence of (something not expressly stated).
    2) (of a fact or occurrence) suggest (something) as a logical consequence.
  12. Syrup Augur

I have no control over how you infer things.
  13. Lee81 Augur

You didn't expressly state that you would quit. However, you did logically conclude that the servers would fail. If it should fail and not provide what you wanted, you did say that you wouldn't have a reason to log in. Again, it's not expressly stated. However, you can logically conclude that you wouldn't stick around.
  14. Vaclav Augur

And what do people do when they burn out on a game? I burned out on playing Arkham Knight recently doing all the Riddler Trophy stuff - you know what that ended up translating to? I've not played it in days, I've quit or taken an extended break depending on if I ever go back to it. Fundamentally similar regardless. [And note, people are more likely to quit during an extended break for anything subscription based - since "I'm not playing enough to justify paying for it" becomes a thing - just like "Well, I paid for a year so I might as well get some use out of these last couple months force myself to play" becomes a thing as well]

Moving words around to things that are synonyms 90% of the time really doesn't change the picture. You're taking a pornographic photo and throwing a sepia filter on and claiming it's classical art.

Minor tweaks don't change what it is.

You're so caught up in your narrative that you can't even see the forest through the trees of your own message.

Unlocking the timeline for Kunark using isboxx mage armies -- then farming subsequent content with as few as 2 people for many kills is already a question to the legitimacy of this "competitive" environment....

... Daybreak tries to nerf and fix mages -- still not a total fix but it's progress. Load balancing. Accelerated spawn timers on Dragons/Gods. Mitigation of the mighty to counter the trivialization of content.

The TLP servers seem more like a work in progress. Definitely a mutant, cyborg, something completely abstract from what the original experience was. As stated earlier a guild has killed Trakanon about 30+ times in a little over a month.

Putting instancing into the servers wouldn't make it less of a mutant, or really more of a mutant. It would just make it funner for a lot more players. At this point we're like stalking twitter feeds, forums, and waiting for and End-Game that isn't an anxiety riddled dysfunctional relationship.

Mayong was ahead of every server but 3(We were 7th Guild to beat Brath serverwide), but SOE refused to allow transfers or for us to transfer off, so the guild died.

Fippy is still going, Citizen is in t4 VoA at the moment, still progressing. I doubt it will catch regular servers, but a pretty decent number of players on TLP came from Fippy(EOE or Citizen). So, yes, every TLP has been caught up to, or close to being caught up with live.

Those that think TL died when instancing came out just have their facts wrong. Also, quite a bit of players in TL currently were playing still on Fippy when the new servers were announced(And the server took a nosedive). Soooo, just going off prior TLPs, the "non-instancing" crowd, seems to be the ones to play it the longest?

Did, or did your guild not wipe to Gore 4times in a row. Did your guild, with 50+ members in attendance, wipe to VS, just today? You're clamoring for instanced content because "Guilds that can do this are being locked out of content", yet, you're wiping to trivial content(We had 50ish level 51's the first time we did VS, and guess what, that wasn't a pet wall).

Take a tip from RG. They realized some of their deficiencies, and decided to hold off until everyone was level 60 with more epics before trying to contest us again. They're not on the forums worrying about what they can and cannot do, they're progressing as a guild before making an attempt to compete again. Thats why, atleast I, respect their member base.

Hopefully soon, you'll realize that if your guild put half as much time into improving their characters as they do worrying about things out of their control, you would probably have much better luck in contesting spawns.
  17. Finley Augur

This is simply not the case, there are tons of people playing without access to raid content right now and you're attempting to make the argument that making more content available to them means they'll play less? WoW is a different game, raiding is the only way to progress your character in PVE so of course people only log in to raid. In Everquest you can make money camping rare spawns, built reps, and eventually grind AA.

It seems the white flag is being flown?

I hope those two CT kills were worth it~
  19. Finley Augur

yes we wiped on Venril Sathir. If it was instanced we could have recovered, fixed our mistake, and killed it. But this isn't just about us Detheb. There were 12 voting guilds in the Rotation Council, I have only seen 4 of them even attempt Venril Sathir and 3 attempt Trakanon. So we have 2/3rds of our rotation Council opting out of the Kunark raid game entirely.

You can try to make this about Apokalypsis, but it isn't about us. We're a small part of a large server.

who broke the rotation on ragefire?
