Has Anybody Here Seen The Shadiest Swashbuckler?

It looks like the vendor buys at half the cost, so pre-nerf circlet of shadow would cost 19.8 million plat to buy and mana stone would be 13.9 million plat to buy from the vendor

I cant imagine anyone currently buying or selling those 2 items equating the same value the new soe merchant puts on them. Its payday to the people owning them though when it goes live.

Only ONE item exists that i would pay stupid plats for.

SOE - you want a plat sink, make it worthwhile, or rare items will just get ignored after the half dozen hoarders have spend their load.

This is kinda cool, but the timing really sucks. those who have real life issues always seem to get it in the neck. Yeah some of us have to work and cant raid (wah!) some of us cant try the GM/guide events (wah!) and others miss out on some of the rare neat plans soe has for the future.. (double wah!!).

Ok this should be a casino offering. There i said it. start up a new casino or maybe have peep buy grab bags with items like what ur describing for large x amounts if the really want em. Grab bags with random loot worth while or not.Honestly it seems this is the next "noble"idea to take more plat off server. Did you guys at SOe forget that this is a game and peeps play for fun? How'd you get them to respond to you? They're not responding to anything I can think of.

The ones in PoK and Bazaar and that don't answer, the ones in LDoN camps do though, not sure where else

As hard as it is to believe today this is a social game, find a ranger (there are insane amounts of us) and ask him/her for assistance.
Also, everyone needs to realize that whimpering about difficulties and imbalances between the classes is why there are so many dumbed down MMOs out there today where it doesn't matter what class you play because all of them have the same abilities with different names. I for one don't want to see that happen here any more than it already has tyvm.

It is completely possible to make the NPC non-trackable.

Welll... Unless you're using a third party program.

I'm an Enchanter. I've gone from being an essential part of most every group as part of the "Holy Trinity" to "Why would we invite an Enchanter? They can't even handle enchantments as well as half a dozen other classes including Berzerkers!"

So, I'm with you as far as being anti-homogenization, but my understanding is that this is solo content. A player should be able to purchase from a vendor by themselves. Unfortunately, without making it non-trackable and/or putting it on Find, a few classes will have their usual extreme advantage, especially considering quantities are limited, so getting there after other players may be useless.

"Group seeks Ranger to track vendor so we can buy something, PST!" Ya, that's not gonna happen. Maybe, "Seeking Ranger to track vendor, paying 100k/hr + 100k finder's fee, PST!"

You're going to look like a moron when this goes live. You hardly have a basic understanding of this and youre already making wild accusations that are absolutely un true

This is awesome! Gives "the rest of us" a chance, albeit slim, at getting our hands on a cool old world item.

Horrible , the only thing that will save this idea is a NO-DROP tag like the manastone from Old Man Mackinzie ! and i dont know where you are getting those numbers from but noone will pay 90 nobles for a Circlet of Shadow when they are for sale in bazzar @500k for months with no buys. . . i spent the last 5 years collecting , 20 plus servertransfers , an hour every day fishing every servers bazzar, several very tough negotiations . . . . i really need to rethink my everquest situation cause right now i am feeling like thats a lot of wasted life , guess we will see tomorrow , thanks

I suggest starting with the idea that EQ is a video game and all time spent playing it, regardless on in-game success or failure, is a waste of time. If you enjoy your time, it's inexpensive recreation.

This is a horrible idea, if this is limited supply and only carries 1-2 items daily. People will just perma camp the npc, buy it out and resell it at a much higher price, how in the hell is that stopping the inflation. That was the whole point of this NPC, from what the devs have said.

Its like one bad idea after another. First it was the introduction of Nobles, then this. Not only that, but this doesn't impact the whole player base since Roshen said it was to alleviate the plat inflation. I've already stated the ideas that would have an effect on the player base as a whole in multiple threads and via PMs, all ideas that don't involve any effect on Marketplace, this Shady Swashbuckler idea will still cater to the select few.

Just horrible.

Annnd another guy who automatically assumes WCS and makes himself look bad
