Enchanters are actually amazingly godly and I still require them in my groups when i can find them. Sadly most people think they are bad and thus don't even want to play them, let alone well, so it's rare.

Also i fail to understand the problem... she spawns by the noble vendor in whatever zone she happens to be in. Everyone has to locate the zone she is in the same way, once there she's right by the vendor anyway. No need to track, you'll see her. And furthermore she IS findable, everyone can use find. So unless you have some predisposition against it no class has any unfair advantage here. The only ones that do are the ones that want it bad enough to poopsock it Classic-Raid-Mob style and sit there watching her and timing her and being first to find and check her the minute she despawns.

I plan to do this, because real life is lame. don't worry though, unless the item is an illusion, BFG, or Malevolence I won't be buying it probably. :p

Lol. This vendor is like the cure for EQ's cancer....disgusting how many people get upset when someone shows up with the cure for cancer.

Whoever thought this vendor up probably doesn't get paid enough.

Don't let the naysayers bother you, Roshen. =) If everyone had their way, it would be impossible to get anything done because you would always try to satisfy them. Everyone complains about changes.

I think this is a good idea. It doesn't break the game, and gives a new activity. The arguments of supply are bit silly. These are older items that have since been removed, which means that the high end players probably won't care after a few weeks because they have more contemporary items. So in reality, these items are more novelty value than anything else.

There are two sides to everything. They have to remember that new players feel cheated that they can't have the same chances that older players have had.

Sony added 85 Heroic characters, and the world did not come tumbling down. It's my opinion that the veteran players were the ones who took advantage of it the most, and upped their alts to 85. Actual new players that I know have been working their way up the old fashioned way because they want to learn how to play.

NO TRADE tag on all items will satisfy everyone. Simple solution.

The originals will be tradable and people will find prestige in that. Everyone else will can buy items for utility.

NO TRADE furthers the plat sink and prevents these items from flooding the market and cheapen (value-wise and charm-wise) in the long term.

HO, HO, HO - just Soe's way to get everyone to purchase NOBLES - no-one wants something that cost 110% of value - you did see that she will only accept those for her price as in lots, lots of plat.

So has anyone confirmed the items? I am not 100% sure that the way it reads is what it really will be. It could be a play on words? what if its items that never was seen by anyone in game (IE new items)

IDK its just sort of vague.

I wish luck for anyone after this stuff. Unless there is a BFG... I personally see no draw to it.
Same reason I sold my manastone years ago. It was becoming nothing more than an ego/trophy item and no one knew you owned it without putting it in a trade window. (Duh, links can be faked)

That isn't a knock on collectors. Some people raid exclusively, some craft exclusively, etc... Everyone has their own fun. This just draw my interest as something fun. If I were a collector, I's be on the fence (some things are just gone... Unless you go to the FV black hole).

she’ll offer players the opportunity to purchase items that have long disappeared from the Norrath we know today.

No new items, just artifact items

yea i read that one. but is that really the only thing she will sale? sometimes you never know what exactly they are releasing. IDK seems kinda blah.. will have to see what she really sales.

Every known example, so far, indicates old items that no longer drop.
The "sample rate" will go up tomorrow, but I'm guessing it will reflect the same.

If the items can be sold back to the vendor for a portion of the value, you will have a potential issue. There are already quite a few of the rare items in existence. On the progression servers, they actively added many of the items back in the game . . . the pre-nerf Circlet of Shadows, for example. If the items can be sold back to the vendor, you could be creating an influx of pp into the game rather than eliminating it. Once the progression severs are caught up to the regular servers, transfers will be opened up.
  12. Ranndom_TheUndead Augur

Some can be sold back. The 10 charge rez stick sells for 55 nobles
  13. Drathus Augur

I guess we will need to wait and see what items are available. If they add items with some kind of utility, Troll illusion, Earring of Living Slime (root), Manastone (which was changed to only work in original EQ zones) etc., then I could see the desire to acquire them. However, paying multiple millions of pp for a non-utility item to sit in my house? Not sure I would ever do that.
  14. Drathus Augur

Errrr, O.K. Well, the ability to sell any of these items back to the vendor needs to be removed before it goes live. If not, you could be introducing massive amounts of plat into the game, rather than removing it.
  15. drkknight69 Journeyman

bah...so have to pay in nobles....well forget that....that's too much imo....just to get plat off the market lol...well to each their own I suppose...if have to pay with nobles then I for one wont be getting

If you test copy or wait till tomorrow you can see everything she sells if you have the original items, she buys things back at half of what she sells it for

No one is going to buy a Circlet of Shadow from her for 20 million plat and try to re-sell that if they are, no one is going to buy it, plus the more items in game the less value they have, she has an unlimited supply, just 1 can be bought per day and the item is random, depending on how rare they are you will prob see I imagine at least 3+ per year, per server entering the game of whatever she is selling

Marcia's release should be delayed and her mechanics clearly outlined. What is the fair value of high-demand items: Mask of Tinkering, Firestorm Cape, Earring of Living Slime? How can it be fair for campers? What will happen in 1-2 years when 10 million pp threshold becomes common (future inflation and sellback option)? I can see some very upset veterans when they return for TDS or Holiday season, and half of their collection has been released. I really want to emphasize NO TRADE flag on her items. We don't need another "Guise of the Ancient Gods" debacle. Item collection is an interesting niche for EQ1 (probably the only thing equally praiseworthy in EQ2 is the new Vet reward for Isle of Refuge house) and must be as protected as the so-called God illusions (if the argument holds).

Someone see if she will buy a Circlet of Shadow. I'm curious what they (SoE) think they're worth (the CoS... not SoE :)).

With the 1 item per real day this will take another 20 years to get all the duped/exploited platinum out of the game. I know its taboo to admit it, but how many billions of plat entered the system with the bags off the loyalty merchant? Soe what made the casino so great was that everyone could use it, from the guy with 100plat to his name, to that person that likes to brag about having 100mil in the bank. Rethink the whole limited quantities issue, nobody is going to want to spend a million on an old bag that is just 10 slots when people are not buying 36slot bags for basically the same price from the marketplace.
