[Clerics] The 'self' healing parse thread

Interventions are a great tool to have, you just need to be cognizant of when you can use them. Some raids it's a flat no across the board, but more commonly it's okay on some parts but not on others. Having the spells memmed but using an alternate keybind so you can choose which weave you are using at any given point is one way to deal with it. Or, with saved spell sets you can, at the final named for example, quickly swap out a spell or two if needed.

re: yaulp, unless you are so hurting for mana that you absolutely must have the greater mana of the spell version (and you're already managing your VP / QM / rods / buffs / foci correctly), the AA is far better. Not only will it free up a spell slot, but more importantly you don't waste valuable time casting yaulp when you could be healing or doing anything else, since the AA version can be used between spell casts.

And while it doesn't hurt, unless you're casting any detrimental spells, battle frenzy and twincast (not to be confused with CotD) won't help.
  2. Tour Augur

You can still use a no dmg set with an extra renewal without resorting to light. Even going back at that point several expansions they still are better.
  3. Roxxanna Augur

With 3 clerics, each having several different cast set ups depending on what I'm doing, the risk of having the wrong one loaded is too high, and with our usually low number of clerics, even a split second of hesitation will drop a tank, we've lost more than one simply because I stopped my bind just long enough to hit QM. Roxxie worries, then hesitates, dominoe insues. The benefit of being absolutely sure about what I'm casting far outweigh the benefit of an intervention or 2.
  4. Roxxanna Augur

Battle frenzy was a accident on my parse, too close to improved twincast on my hot bar, but will not twincast double my heals?
  5. sojero One hit wonder

twincast does not double heals, only detrimental spells(it will for contraventions), twinheal is what twin casts heals.
  6. Tour Augur

Take careful note of spell restrictions for your spells and abilities. Improved twincast (twincast on log) is flagged at detrimental only. Channeling of the Divine (which I see you are using) is the activated AA for beneficial flagged spells (also the passive twinheal AA). And yes, that means the developers gave us an activated twincast for nukes well before they gave us one for heals.
  7. Roxxanna Augur

Ahhh, I normally use 4 contraventions on each of my clerics, hence my confusion.

Interesting data collection, Crystilla. Thanks for sharing. Makes it very easy to see who on your team is using / not using what spells and abilities and identify long term trends.

Most of what we have on our boards are raw individual event logs, but occasionally I'll break them down if there is something I want to highlight, such as cure usage on a cure heavy event like Arx 5 for new applicants.

The only large across the class multi-month data set I have was when I was still trying to get all the clerics to use modern spell casting rotations and a multibind setup, and show that their peers were casting so much more then they were. In graph form it looked like this:

That was late RoF. For some it was a wakeup call to try using new spells and rotations. For others it was just more for them to complain about, that anyone would dare suggest that "remedy - light' wasn't good enough. If I were to run the numbers now we'd all be pretty even.
    Iila likes this.

I use the AA yaulp and it is on my bind. For me it was either bind it in or not use it at all. It does cast between spells just fine, so it doesn't interfere with healing. I 3-box on everything including emote heavy events so I really have to streamline my activities because micromanaging 3 characters is sometimes a liability, and my expectation is to always hit emotes and to give the best players a run for their money (which I do heh - my 2 healers are essentially always in the top 5, usually top 3 on MT heal parses regardless of who's group they are in).

My set up is shaman, cleric and warrior, the shaman/cleric both have syllable and recourse in their binds (which I normally wouldn't recommend to other players), and I do any additional group heals with the cleric. But by doing things like this it reduces the amount of attention I have to give my group so I can focus more on doing shaman epics, canni, debuffs, shining rebuffs, DI etc. There are definitely some inefficiencies in my set up but I am very effective overall. My performance has always been significantly better than the average player, good players really have to step up their game to beat me.

That said I know I can use my healing AA more than I do (I use them more for emergencies so just once or twice a night) and I probably should cough up an extra couple spells slots for more renewals, but I was having mana consumption issues. I am always open for more feedback, however I know there are some things I will just discard for when I am boxing, because it isn't reasonable for me to implement in my typical situation.
  10. Belkar_OotS Augur

Actually....... if someone has GINA triggers for Yaulp, Shining, DI, Sluggishness and Turgurs wearing off I would be most appreciative. I think you are right, if I had a trigger for it I would be able to treat it in a more reasonable way. You can catch me in either the shaman or cleric serverwide channels.
  11. Crystilla Augur

Don't use gina (just in game) here.

    Pulled another one.

Tue Mar 24 WK2 (48 min 29 sec duration fight) - I was in a regular group (not MT, but not the kiters). We ended up dragon tanking this one for 50% of the fight for some reason.

All of these are in a tank group (2-3 WAR, 2 CLR), in an open raid team. I added healing/sec and spells/sec; it might make measurements from events of different lengths easier to compare. Spell lineup is in bold.

Looking over this, I notice that although I have 12 spells, I used only 8 on Arx 1.. maybe I should adjust some stuff. Nice thread - I'll try to get in on a Neriak 2 raid next week.

Can't really remember Tour. I *think* the dragon was super high health for the longest time (her and no one else needing heals, everyone was already rebuffed) so for whatever reason, I nuked to do something with my mana. Was a month ago (and 2 business trips in between) so it's a bit foggy.
  16. Roxxanna Augur

I do the same thing, when there's plenty of clerics and not a lot to do, I play, especially if there's undead to be had. Looking at this thread I'm left with the thought: OMG, I wish we were all on the same server/guild.
  17. Crystilla Augur

I haven't sat in on a DH2 raid in a while but looking for the last ones we did. That's where I fully admit I blow the mini's up (well first one) while still keeping all tanks up. And making our parse every time. :)

I hate Bixie 1.........every time they call Bixie 1 as next target, I quietly curse to myself, then think about bailing......then curse a bit louder.......think about unplugging my router.......pull hair a bit.........curse a bit louder..........then a full on tantrum reminiscent of my days as a youth.

Then I suck it up and put the game face on..........but I'm not getting in that damn drum line.
