Yes, they do. Pictures tell you things without stating them in words. You see the liquor, the shot glass, the drinking, the results of drinking, the drunken stupor/sleeping in mid-afternoon, the violence, the private eye office, the camera shutter, etc., and so on. It's called "visual grammar."
None of those show she has PTSD over being a 'violent socio/psychopathic drunk who doesn't like mornings'
Not meaning to knock the show or anything, just stating there is nothing that is attracting me to this show (plus the fact more a fan of Jessica Drew )
Nothing attracting you is different from nothing being there. In any case, I'd suggest watching the first episode or two, and if you don't like it, don't watch further. Or don't watch at all; it's up to you.
Don't have Netflix, but while the clips of DD were appealing to me, and the initial idea of JJ, the clips are doing the opposite

Purple Man... Are they really going to go there? Then again with all the stuff that goes on in shows like Game of Thrones, I suppose they will.
looks like they might be. i think they could figure out a way to handle it properly, so hopefully nothing like how GoT handles it.
This is hardly news. Eight months ago: http://www.cinemablend.com/television/David-Tennant-Joins-K-Jessica-Jones-Villain-69668.html And, yeah, he's The Big Bad: http://screenrant.com/jessica-jones-series-teaser-tennant-purple-man/
