Is it time to say goodbye to PS3 yet???

You do realize that you say "if the devs were open do non-inclusive designs, the PS3 could stay and we could still have new stuff - it would just look better on PC, PS4 and XBone and barely new on the PS3". Which equals that a design decision/"devs' want!" is holding back the game Have generic placeholder animations for every power and instead and we're good to go. Those animations need to be desigend once and can be endlessly re-used. Want the full show? Get better hardware.

But instead it is easier to point at the hardware and say "change your gear", because the devs know DCUO comes with the most unsocial community ever, close to a faschist mindset that makes it not just OK, but great to tell other players what to do. After all, they created that community of social shortcomings by their choices

Have you not been paying attention! The only thing holding back the release of water is the start revamp. The Devs don't want to release water only to have to immediately change it. There is nothing about the PS3 that is keeping them from releasing water.

And I'm a PS4 player, so its not like I'm for keeping the PS3 around too much longer. Just don't make invalid statements to try and and convince the Devs and other people that it needs to go away.

The money decision is not on us, that's for their balances to calculate. Cut the PS3 off and lose - just a random number - 5 mio per month vs keep a seperated client for extra maintenance cost of 2.5 mio per month would be a bad decision for example amd the extra client would pay off. We do not have those absolut numbers, we only get to know that cutting the PS3 would hurt DCUO "significantly", whatever much money that is for Daybreak.

Of course, keeping all players of the different platforms at going at each others' throats and do nothing will always be the best choice for Daybreak moneywise - no extra cost, no forcefully cutting customers off, and most of the other folks are so far over the addiction border they stay with the game anyway, no matter how much casino, gambling or other form of crap they turn the game into. So that's the best choice for Daybreak, plus: they keep that suoer excuse to not add any too complicated stuff whenever players ask for it. "We need an actual tutorial" - "the PS3 couldn't handle it!"; "we need a better UI for more quality of life improvements" - "the PS3 couldn't handle it!" etc. The sad part is that there are so many morons in the DCUO playerbase/"community" who blindly believe that crap

Who's defending it? The hardware limitations are there. PERIOD. But there are also ways in coding to work around them. PERIOD.

It is not about the PS3, it is about blind actionism - women love to act that way e.g. just do something no matter if making sense but at least they did something - into directions that does not make sense/profit. Whois benefiting from cutting the PS3 off and having to pay 2-5 bucks more per month when the subscription plan renews the next time? Who is benefiting from even slower Qs? Just because a bunch of brainless zombies is so addicted to the game that they can't live without any longer, doesn't mean that every PS3 user still playing DCUO is in as bad mental state. So applying force will not automatically make them move to new hardware, but instead play somehting else, or take a break until some other companies come up with games that mak the move worth it to them. As much as we cannot keep people from spending hundreds of bucks on TCs - because it would be better for the game if TCs do not sell well and Devs/Marketing stop focusing on them - we cannot make people spend hundreds of bucks on new hardware - because it would be better of the game if the repetitive boring crap it is would at least shin in 4k colors and resolution.

Besides that and despite me explaining repeatedly that the devs/design decisions have a whole lot of guild about the PS3 situation getting that bad, I already explained 3 times that I would totally support dropping the PS3 tomorrow, or today, or yesterday. Yes, it would be to see you and the likes of you getting the bloody nose of their life and slowly realizing that now all of you have to deal with that bludgeoned nose job till DCUO dies, but should that tiny difference in motivation really be a problem for you and your kind? After all, you have my vote - does it matter that I'll be getting the better entertainment ratio with the result in the end ?

Bad developers are just bad developers guys. It does not matter what platform they are on. You can look at the design and mechanics of this game compared to other action rpg mmo. DCU looks bad.

Decisions ultimately destroy games not consoles because there had to be a decision to put it on the said console. A decision not to make enough funds to drop the console .

This is just one mmo out of your playlist that is a developmental monstrosity. Just be thankful DCU is the only project they are working on. Imagine seeing a green person on other mmo forums like ESO or WoW....

Most folks understand why the PS 3 won't be dropped, at least any time "soon".

Money. Pure and simple.

If you take away some of your playerbase and without a thing to replace them, you just chase money away (and no folks I'm not trying to say the game will die, I would argue it would be "in a worse state" but I don't think it would be dead). I don't think DBG really plans to do that.

Can understand there being many reasons why someone hasn't upgraded to a PS4, but denying the PS3 is out of date is just being stupid (and just because it's out of date, does not mean you have stop playing on it, like some people still play on the NES or MegaDrive)
