the fact that the belly guns are all designed for long range fire power?(Minus the duster.....)

also its common sense and even in the liberators vehicle description.

The whole liberator design is messed up, Its like SOE had an idea of what it could be but didn't do it properly.

    0_o.....

    your quite confusing.

BTW what server do you play on?
  3. Pineapple Pizza!

It's like nobody here has ever seen or ran with an Annihilator squad.

You teleport into a fight, jump over the fence out of the base, then run around gibbing people by telling your buddies to stare at them. If a liberator shows up and doesn't have flares, or a conveniently-placed hill, it goes poof.

If it does have a flare...well...uh...we can use our spawn beacon. No resource costs, here.

    @ Scr1nRusher,
Could you stop spamming this forum please, like 50% of the comments here are yours, people are trying to convey their opinions and for some reason you feel obliged to reply on every single one of them as if your the ultimate guru that knows everything best.

    I'm not spamming. 0_o.

Also If you look, theres been plenty of times where people are posting on this thread and I haven't responded.

just because I'm a active poster and member of this community, isn't a bad thing, I probably have noticed more if not the same amount of things then/that RadarX has. After playing PS2 Since Beta and seeing how SOE works...... I just want them not to screw up, Because I know they can do better and do things properly.

so scr1n ... u think low velocity weapons are made vor longrange? Like.. ... saronlaser for example? Theres a reason why every single longrange weapon in this game is fast and accurate... U CANNOT HIT IF THEY ARE NOT!

If u try to kill with a liberator on long range you have a much much higher killtime and in the most cases it is just impossible to kill anything. infantry does not render and vehicles are hard to hit if your bullet needs three seconds to rech them. if they start moving unpredictable u cannot hit.

in my opinion the liberator is definitly a short range weapon.

i'm playing on miller - we use the same liberators here..
  7. Scr1nRusher

liberator guns shouldn't have lower velocities, if there strength is damage + range +(to some extent) splash then if the velocity gets lower then the only targets it will be able to hit are stationary groups.

But I think that Velocities should matter when figuring them out interms of the size of the projectiles used.

so finding that "just right" velocity will be needed, So they are great against ground and not so much(unless its a shredder) against air.

    Also.....

Liberators are not short range weapons.... well in theory they shouldn't be, and if they are its because of really bad design.

They should be powerful anti ground/anti ground vehicle gunships that can deal with vehicles and infantry clusters.

As in A2G specialists with some protection from air.

Good grief, let others have time to reflect and comment
  9. Scr1nRusher

    Fine :p.
  10. Bartolomeo

like Tank's weak spot, give to Liberator a weak spot UP and Back, making ESF more effective if they attack by surprise a weak spot and the liberator don't loses resistance to ground attacks unless they rotate exposing his weak spot to the ground.
  11. AdmiralArcher

thats the price of having a more manuverable tank......i do think an almost omni directional magburner would be nice for it tho....but it needs to have a draw back if it is made to be omni directional.....currently the only tank with an abilty that has a real drawback is the prowler......
  12. Dreadnaut

Except no experienced Lib pilot has EVER said that the Liberator was fine. It's not fine, and it needs to be fixed. Nerfs and buffs combined.

So what makes people want to play Planetside 2?

So here is a video with two million views. Should this be removed because it wasn't intended by the developers?

What if something unintended hurt game play like a ESF inside a biolab?

What if something untended was hysterical but had no tactical advantage whatsoever?

Here is a video that Luperza commended on. At the end of the video you will see something I don't think the developers intended. But does it hurt game play or just make more people want to play Planetside?

In the end of the day people play to have fun, in their definition of the word. Like Terran Skywhale Pirates / Galaxy Hopping While it may be impossible for everyone to be happy there are some things we all can do. Do your best, and keep an open mind.

One of the best days I have ever had in Planetside was doing something that other games rarely do. 240 verses 240 with a chain of command featuring players from all classes and vehicles battling in Server Smash. Players volunteered to play the roles they enjoyed the most. There is no best way to play Plantside 2 nor does enforcing players to play a single way sound like a wise idea.

Sc1nRusher, I too need time to think and organize my thoughts. Besides, often people's best ideas come when their not actively thinking but when they take a moment to step back.

Cheers to you MR Liberator user!

    https://www.planetside2.com/players/#!/5428010917264560945/vehicles

Great selection of videos showing off fun unintended mechanics(and in one case a big epic combine arms battle). Yet thats completely different from something being overpowered to a point where players(especially new players) leave because of it, and then it gets better because if you give that OP thing a update to make it abit more OP til its abused, a good portion of the players leave the game and NEVER come back!.

What is overpowered about vehicles vs infantry for the most part is thermals.

Tanks kill me much more as infantry than libs do.

So now libs will barely be able to kill tanks.

Who is going to kill the tanks now?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for nerfing vehicles vs infantry and infantry vs vehicles. That game dynamic has proven itself to be a bad one in its current iteration. All the other nerfs though, to tankbuster and the AV guns dont make sense.

We are going to be back to nothing but tank zergs, especially since rocket pods got nerfed yet again.

Rocket pods should have been nerfed vs infantry not tanks.

Tanks are the reason i learned to fly in the first place.

I drive tanks as much as i fly lately and there is nothing else that can reliably kill a tank other than another tank.

Why is it that its NOT ok for AIR to be the counter for AIR, but it is going to be the norm for TANKS to be the only counter to TANKS?

If you had checked the post history of the person you quoted (myself), you would find have I talked about Liberators needed changes before these proposed changes came to light. Bad form, Pan.

  17. Obstruction

this kind of attitude is pervasive in the community, to the detriment of players and player retention. attempts to discuss it are censored apparently, and no amount of thoughtful discussion will garner anything but derision from ground players and patronization from developers. i remember many of us posting what we thought was helpful feedback after the updates came to Test, only to see them go Live less than 48 hours later.

They don't listen. I'm still trying to figure out the logic behind their decisions and i can find none.

I'm hoping that maybe if they nerf lib range they are perhaps going to nerf flak range at some point.

And do something about lock-ons. If AV turrets were too hard to retaliate against and needed a nerf, which i completely agreed with, then why don't lock-ons?
  19. Obstruction

they aren't nerfing lib range, they're nerfing the dalton against top tier ESFs so that there will be no competition at high skill levels.

depending how much they buff zephyr damage to vehicles (if at all) we might try AA zephyr because it won't be much slower than the dalton but at least have 6 shells. maybe with a walker it will allow us to stay in the air against all but the 5 or 6 aces on the server.

they don't even realize that nerfing the TB means libs won't even dive on MBTs anymore and that MBTs and infantry are still going to get WTFPWNed if they get caught in the open. also makes me feel sorry for the parking lots that are going to form, and the TKs that will happen both from roadkills and from people fighting over sunderer deploys now that Libs won't be limiting sunderer life expectancies.

anyway, all this is going to really do is shift the bandwagon players back to rocketpods and rocket primary biolab farm.

You are just going to piss loyal customers off. All these nerfs and buffs are crap. We would rather have a smooth running game. Not nerfs and buffs constantly. Because we can never count on anything to be as it was.

Clint Eastwood would call it a cluster F****.
