At one point I shared your opinion. I have primarily played each real infantry class (not the max) besides infiltrator, which I do have a few hundred hours playing total but haven't strictly selected infiltrator on every log in. I changed my opinion when I thought of this game as an endless war, instead of an arena shooter with balanced teams / vehicles. We will always have one side over populated, vehicle heavy or just using the wrong units because it's the way they want to play. But the idea of war for me is doing what needs to be done. You go to war because you have exhausted other options and do what needs to be done to achieve victory. Self sacrifice on the battlefield. Other games like battlefield are more like scrimmages, and allow competitive game play with the option for players to do what they want because all sides will still be even unlike in PS2. In war there isn't a such thing as a fair fight, only people doing what they think needs to be done to win. Sometimes what you want to do and what needs to be done coincide, but our wants should take a back seat to our goals, which is victory. If we aren't playing for the same thing (victory) then we are playing selfishly, which doesn't matter that much, and aren't actually playing as a team, which is the theme of this game. It is just a game so, play as we wish and hope for the best I suppose.
