a lockdown prowler will break the sheild and kill the vanguard underneath before the vanguard can kill the prowler. That is for a 1/2 vs 1/2. the prowler has more than twice the damage output, the vanguard has less than twice the effective health. its not untill you hit 2/2 vs 2/2 that a vanguard will win by numbers. I should have been more specific, I apologize. Python-100 (lightning) he/heat/and AP slightly out dps the titan-150 (vanguard) canons, at least when i did the math some time ago, they have slightly changed the damage values but I suspect that this trend remained. However the amount of difference was VERY small, ~1% by the old numbers. the prowlers have by FAR the most powerful main cannons against all targets, except arguably ESFs. That is their bonus, and its a damn fine bonus at that.
