Why is the NS-15M not being touched in the LMG changes?

Probably because .75 ADS is actually not a big ******* deal and the VS LMG changes are to simply make you ******** children ST FU.

    Settle down Daemon.

Do I really have to spell this out for you?
    143 * 625 = 89,375
    143 * 750 = 107,250
    107,250 > 89,375

    Re-read what you said:

Not sure why I'm even bothering, but:
"The NS-15 does less damage than the Orion, Carv"
    ...
    The NS-15 does 87,375 damage/min
    The Orion & Carv do 107,250 damage/min
    87,375 is less than 107,250.
The NS-15 does less damage than the Orion/Carv.

Have you recently suffered a blow to the head? 0_o

    Settle down Warp victim.

You said it does less damage, not less DPS.

Also you are seemly forgetting the different roles each weapon fills.

Also you are forgetting the other 143 damage model LMG's aswell.
  8. orangejedi829

Well, you were quite terse with your responses, so don't blame me.
Anyway, you're incorrectly correlating "damage" with "damage per shot."
"Damage per shot" is a component of 'damage', as is RPM.
"DPS" (damage per second, that is) is a derivation of 'damage' for a certain span of time.
"Damage" is the total damage output of the weapon, without special quantifies like 'per shot' or 'per second'.
The NS-15 does identical damage per shot to the Orion/Carv.
The NS-15 does less damage than the Orion/Carv.

And weapon roles do not matter. What matters is that the advantage gained with 0.75ADS is offset by fact that the gun does less damage.
  9. Scr1nRusher

You said the NS-15M does less damage then the Carv & Orion.

But they do the same damage due to having the same damage model.
  10. orangejedi829

Argh! No! They do the same damage per shot, not the same damage! please re-read my previous post. Damage per shot is a derivative of damage; they are not the same thing. Damage vs. Damage/Shot <- see?
And they do not have the same damage model. RPM is also a part of the damage model, and that differs between the guns.
  11. Scr1nRusher

What the heck are you talking about?
  12. orangejedi829

Dude. I don't really know how to put it any more clearly.
    1. The guns don't do the same damage. I've already explained this.
    2. The "Damage model" of a gun is composed of its damage-per-shot at close range, damage-per-shot at long range, and RPM.
Now let's compare the damage models:
    NS-15. Orion/Carv
    Max damage/shot: 143@10 == 143@10
    Min damage/shot: 125@65 == 125@65
    RPM: 625 != 750

Not all of the elements are the equal, therefore the damage models are not "the same".
  13. Scr1nRusher

    They do.

    Wrong.

    RPM is a variable factor.

While damage models are about the damage the weapon does at what ranges.
  14. orangejedi829

Well you're perfectly welcome to think that if you want.
But your classification places the NS-15 and Orion/Carv in the same category, when a Carv/Orion user will kill an NS-15 user every time in an even face-off. Which is why it's clear these weapons have different damage models: two are is 143/750; the other is 143/625. Without the RPM (which, by the way, is not variable), you're missing important information on how much damage the gun puts out.
Which means my original point still stands. The NS-15 does less damage than the Orion/Carv, thus it's okay that it has 0.75 ADS.
  15. Scr1nRusher

Considering how I worked on a few FPS games, its not about "thinking".

A 143 damage LMG that drops down to 125?

    Thats incorrect.

The NS-15M is not a CQC-close range LMG. its more of a midrange.
  16. orangejedi829

    - I've worked on FPS games as well. If you want to back up your arguments, use empirical evidence, not unverifiable 'credentials' that have no actual bearing on the argument.
    - So you're saying that if two players of the same class stood in front of each other, aimed at the same spot, and started firing, there's a situation where the NS-15 user would win? No, there isn't.
    - RPM affects damage output, so it's illogical to think that it's not part of a given weapon's 'damage model'.
  17. Scr1nRusher

    Right..........

    Yes there is.

Your not factoring in ranges, player accuracies, headshots, nanoweave etc.

But its not the primary thing.

But usually higher ROF weapons have lower damage to balance things out.
  18. Caydn

add a shotgun to it :p
  19. Scr1nRusher

    Under-barrel attachments on a LMG?

That.... actually is a cool idea.
  20. Caydn

Yeah how about a chainsaw no a flamethrower no wait a plushie cannon :p
