Based on the presentation I saw not to long ago, it would seem that choice plays a large role, and I would think that this would be no exception.

There are perfectly explainable reasons why female dwarves would be able to grow beards. It's just as feasible for there to be a cultural reason not to grow said beards.

Absolutely!! What would dwarf women be without a beard?? Of course, make it optional. Just like real life, some girls have beards and its their choice, although often unwise *cough cough* LOL

I don't plan on playing female dwarf (or a male dwarf, for that matter), so it doesn't really bother me one way or the other... but I think there probably should be an listing for 'none' among the facial hair options for female dwarves.

While I firmly believe that all true dwarves should have beards, I'm cool with leaving it up to individual choice.

It has to be a choice, no real question about it

I ran a female dwarf for years, with as much of a beard as EQ2 allowed her to have. But she was so short that combat (a paladin) was so difficult I race changed her to Barbarian so I could see!

Definitely make beards an option for the dwarf women.

Dwarves of all sexes should have their pick of beards or no beards. If female dwarves get the choice of a beard, there should be more "feminine" styled facial hair choices to pick from. In fact, hair and beards in general should be layered choices, things like general length, straight/curliness, and extra braids and ponytails should be options to be added onto head hair and beards.

Optional for both sound just right to me. Maybe my male dwarf is bald, save from a fine assortment of tattoos emblazoned on his head, after a career in setting charges deep in the mine?

What is even more important, I think, is better facial hair styling tools. Sure some of us think any old beard will do, and that is fine as well, but I would love the opportunity to have more control than that. I love a good detailed braid, and I feel sad every day I play a dwarf with a beard less braided and luxurious than the one I once chose to wear in real life...

I voted optional. The reason is - I just don't think women with beards is proper. It sort of deters away from the immersion of the game seeing a silly person running around with a beard. However, I'm not going to ruin someone else's experience with my personal preferences.

This. I want it as an option, even on males.

Here's where lore meets lore - where i come from a Dwarv, Dwarf or Dwarve, Zwerg or whatver you call it got a beard - and i loved seeing females without facial hair in eq // II. The options in personalizing your toon should not be limiting in this point as there are many folks who are fond of these stout folk and really argue beard / no beard / no females since eq started - and you don't want that discussion to end, really - you'd annoy half the dwarves.

The most logical choice for this, would be to make during character creation, an ability to put facial hair onto a female dwarf. I am sure there are many female players who would like to customize their character, without having to be stuck with a beard. Sensible solution is provide the option, but do not make it mandatory.

Optional for sure, but they beard selection should make nearly all players want to have a beard on them

How will we see the difference between females and males if both have beards. If both shall have it, maybe it's enough with just one sex, the male one. The female one will be little bit pointless to have otherwise.

I forgot to say that I am against that women have beard.

Optional. Don't force a certain look on a player character.

I'd like female dwarves to have a prettier appearance so I actually want to play one. I think beards should be an option but feminine features should be an option as well. I like playing small human-like races and always play halflings and fae because the dwarf women are too masculine. Make the females more desirable this time around.
