What's a Dwarf without a beard? Come on!

I like my dwarves like I like my women, big and hairy!

I personally don't care for the look--kind of gross, but I dislike the lack of options in an mmo even more. Players should be able to create the character they like, the way they want it to look, so I hope there will be a nice degree of customization in this game while we are on the topic! Let them have the beard option if they want it.

In real life you also have ugly women, so make it a choice for them to not take the beard and be ugly.
Also make the beards on dwarves more feminine! Nicely done in curls, braids and knots, not the thick bushes that men have.

I chose optional. For diehard Dwarf players they will want the beard and won't hesitate to create a character with one. For others who are fans of the race, they would most likely prefer an option.

    Optional choice imho

It should definitely be a choice.

WoW converts aren't used to actual Dwarf lore, so I can see them being appalled at the notion. But those of us who know better (and who've been playing EQ/EQ2), know that a Dwarf Lass isn't a Dwarf at all without a Proper Beard!

Especially for RP, should they be allowed to have beards!

    Having options is never wrong!

Why make it optional for just females? Why not males as well? In EQ2 you could make a male dwarf without a beard. I did just that and had a great RP story behind it.

In a role-playing game, you should ALWAYS have the option.

I think that should be optional. Some might want that for their dwarfs.

    An option would be sufficient

Optional is definitely the way to go. No fuss no muss, if someone wants a beard they can have one, if not that's okay as well.

Optional sounds like the way to go, if someone wants to play a dwarf but having a beard is a real turn off then they probably wouldn't get as much enjoyment out of the game. I know I become attached to my character.

One of my first memories of EverQuest was discovering that female dwarves had the option for beards. I laughed about it at the time, but all the pretty, beardless dwarf women in games over the years just lack that same character. I say bring on the beards, but keep them optional!
