Why care about such a futile question? Is this meant to be a funny topic?
Can we have interesting topics where we could discuss important things like roles or game play?
A game could have the best graphics/designs ever (Vanguard or Guild Wars) but that's secondary in importance to actual game play.

Looking at Vanguard diplomacy, it was fun and had potential as a sphere to level up...
People don't play cards or chess because they like the card colors or the Queen is sexy. Its all about game play.
This topic is a waste of time. Ha ha a female with facial hairs lets all laugh it's funny. Ok next.

Look at Guild Wars... the graphics are amazing, yet to me as a core everquest player, I did not get satisfied by the lack of roles and direction of the game in terms of accomplishment.

If there are no experience/levels, no tank/heal/dps roles, how about contested content, does everybody reap the rewards like in GW, and it becomes a big zerg mess? Do you instance it and feel people get seperated? Do you reduce the importance of itemization? I don't know what the game play will be about... building, crafting, exploring, find class/weapons? The "Holy Trinity" roles (tank heal dps) has drawbacks and penalties, but in the end gives you a sense of importance and getting something accomplished.

Happy Veteran's Day to my fellow service members at home and over here with me! Active, reserve, retired and no matter what branch you were in! It may not be Veteran's Day where you are but here in Afghanistan we're in the future ;)

Like all character creation points: give me the choice!

Dwarves are hairy and it would seem rather unnatural for the women not to be. However, they should have the option of shaving. They could also have braids, beads, and ponytails. Just because one is hairy doesn't necessarily mean one is ugly (but ugliness should be an option too).

Not specifically pertaining to dwarves but character appearances in general. After viewing the Trailblazer promo video i'm extremely disappointed by the Torchlight styles character appearance if thats what our toons are going to look like. Also i've heard a lot of people say they are not interested in a WOW style cartoonish game focused on the minecraft concept at all when speaking of EQNext.

I'm sure a lot of these descriptions are premature and we can only wait to see what the game will actually be like but in the absence of facts the rumors are becoming the truths that people are speaking of when they talk about the game.

Just watched the video, new to looking into this, but I feel like Beards should be a playable race where you hide in the shadows and you jump out and attach to someones face and take over their body for a set time

Choices are good, personally they'd have to be some sexy beards on dwarf women haha. I prefer a clean cut female myself but thats my social standing talking..

If people want bearded females in game dammit let it be so, but choices make everyone happy :)

I'm not sure about beards, but ear and nose hair would be fun.

I don't mind the question. No matter how little the topic seems to be, I appreciate the devs on asking the community's opinions on things. Eventually there would be someone who would notice that female dwarf NPC or players do/don't have beards and comment on it. Now the topic is out there.

As far as roles or game play, I'm pretty sure that the devs know what they have in mind and when something debatable comes along -race/class combos for instance- they will present it to us for our opinion.

And I don't think you can compare chess to a role playing game. How your character looks is very important to some people. That is why players appreciate as much customization as possible. If how we looked was not important, we would just hit the random button and be done with it. But the choice is there for those who DO want to fine tune how their player looks and try to make them unique.

I do agree with you however on your point about the "holy trinity" roles of tank/heals/dps. I love to heal groups. I also love to tank and dps. When I go into an instance or raid, I want to be clear on my responsibility. I don't like the GW2 attempt at ridding the world of a need for tanks and heals. Hopefully whatever the devs decide to do with this we will have a need for being clear on what role we are filling when we group with others and that there will be a need for the tank, heal and support roles.

I personally never liked to play a dwarf, but why not have the option for it. The more options the better.

Not necessarily beards, maybe long silky and beauty sidewhiskers!
With gold or bronze rings and trinkets and so on....

Better question: Are female dwarves allowed razors?!

    Player choice =)

Women shave der legs not der face. Of course our women have beards!

keep it real , its a female one way or another.... maybe allow a different unique feature instead of "beards" how bout gut customization or boob customization. You can have the soggy breasts, the pointers, the bloopers.... ect ect. Maybe the nose? Have unique female dwarve noses to choose from!

I'm confused. Even if lore states that female dwarfs did have beards... could they not shave it off? You know, like actual women do with mustaches and such?
Make it an option for all females why don't ya? A nice mustache on a female elf might be cute. =) I'd totally do it. Why are only dwarf women so lucky? :unfair:

    Hi everyone,

Well, this topic - "Should Female Dwarves Have Beards or Not?" - ended up getting quite strong reactions from the community! And of course, our favorite Dwarven lass, Brasse, was a special guest (along with Producer Emily "Domino" Taylor) in the response video:

You've already seen a bit of concept art featuring the variety of facial hair choices female (and male) Dwarves may have in EverQuest Next:
