    Ross' brow wrinkled. "I will make sure to point them towards the orphanage then." She took a deep breath. "For now, though I have something else to take care of." Ross knelt down in front of Ziqua. "I need you and Meheera to stay here. I'm going to lock the door behind me and you cannot let anyone else in. This is for your own safety. Do you understand?"
    Sylvie turned cold eyes to the Gnome. "Do what? I didn't hear anything." Private Grayhaze, of course, could not allow that to happen, even to a prisoner like Vonelix, but she saw no need to give him comfort either. If that was enough to scare him straight, then so be it.

    Bella gratefully handed the little pinkie to her mother and knelt down to hold her father's hand. "Such a feels for the Rhythms the littles ones has!"
    Aloysiius nodded. "I'll be right back." He slipped out the door and ran, humming a quick song as he went to give himself more speed as he went along the platforms and bridges to the temple.
    Rothgut turned his head to watch the Shadowknight and his son leave. He squeezed his daughter's paw as he wondered how his other daughters were doing since the family had fled Freeport. It pained him to see such a schism.
    Bella bit her lip, thinking that he was squeezing her hand because he was in pain. She felt tears welling up in her eyes and wiped the sleeve of her free arm across her face as she thought about the funeral for Tetri's Uncle.

    Pepin cried out as Alyerra was struck. He went over to stand beside Senriala. "Is she alright?"
    Charlemin threw his shield up to protect his eyes from the blinding flash of lightning. He peeked over and charged at Consilvus, swinging his glowing sword one handed in a downward arc.
    Moonwrath paused, trying to see some sign of where the assassin had gone to. She slowly took a step back and turned to scan the area.
    Rene's ice spell began to melt beneath the Teir'dal's feet. She gathered her energy to cast again, having missed the assassin before.
    Aleteriq clenched his stomach. Gleipnir's whine caught Danlore's attention and he turned to his brother.
    ***
    Kal nodded. "Welcome aboard."
    Asphodelus whistled. "Looks like an orc raidin' vessel, mates! Ain't seen one o' those in a moon or two."
    Rainer shook his head. "Gotta be careful with this lot, then. They aren't above killin' the slaves before we can get to 'em."

    Ginnar scratched at his bearded chin and dropped his voice down. "Uh...Ay got a bit o' a sweet tooth, so anythin' tha' goes gudd wit a smidge o' 'oney, eh?"

    Ziqua nodded.
    Maheera padded over to the door. She laid down beside the doorway as though ready to guard it.
    Vonelix shivered “She said she was going to eat me...” he swallowed “Just take me to the cell! Anything to get me out of here!”
    Telsi winked at Sylvie before sitting back on the cot where her fiancee` was still unconscious.
    Elena laid down on her own cot and fell asleep.
    Priestess Anna stroked the girl's head. “Is there a way without controlling her that you can make sure she sleeps well and doesn't have any unpleasant dreams?” she asked Nerry as she pulled a cover up to cover the girl.
    “Maybe you could take that werewolf brat! Would serve you right to be a monster!” Tygarr shouted.

    Colby turned to Shiasia only to say “Where's the ways out of heres!”
    Calarys snuggled her pinkies close to hers “Yis,” she said “I suppose she does.” she looked at Rothgut “I's is so sorrys...” she whispered “I's... we's shouldn'ts...”
    Canty walked over and hugged her aunt “We's wills be okays. You's stills has mes.”
    Calarys smiled at the teen.
    “He's wills bes okays.” Fayberry said as she nodded towards Rothgut.
    Zach winced as he tried to walk towards the door the adrenaline from the battle had worn off and now it seemed he felt the wound from the sword “Skystitches...”
    Ethan grabbed his brother “What did you do?” he forced his brother to a chair. Once his brother was seated Ethan examined his foot “Catching swords with our feet again?”
    “I'll be fine,” Zach said through gritted teeth.
    “Sit until we have a real priest look at that,” Ethan said with authority “And don't be pulling that I'm older crap. You're only older by thirteen months,”

    Lazzera stopped in front of a large acorn. “The portal is in here,” she said as she opened the door. Through the doorway could be seen a druid ring surrounded by flowers and moss and in the middle of the druid ring was a portal.
    “Sorry,” Kelauriel said again “I'll make it up to you...”
    ~~~~~
    “I don't know,” Senriala answered.
    “It was a minor shock...” Alyerra said as she fell to her knees.
    “Aly what's wrong?” Senriala asked.
    Aly looked from her mother to Pepin “Both of you need to get away from me...” her nails began to lengthen and become more claw-like as her golden brown hair began to lighten gradually turning white
    Her eyes fell on Alteriq clutching his stomach. “No... he can't... I can't put him through this...”
    “Aly?”
    “Alteriq... we have an empathic bond... he feels my...”
    Consilvus gasped as the blade struck him. “I have a secret weapon.” he laughed “The more blood you spill...” he pointed towards Alyerra.
    The Assassin who had vanished appeared behind Esorn “Can't have you figting the boss can we?” he said as he stabbed the Personae reflection believing it to be the Illusionist.
    Tetriemmy sighed with relief that her undead cub was seemingly alright. She had no intention of striking Alyerra again. She focused Nature's power around Charlemin. The air shimmered as it formed around him warding against further damage.
    The Tier'dal took out his bow and aimed carefully towards Rene.
    ~~~~
    Relane smiled.
    “Well guess we'll be going,” Mizria said “Feel free to stop by our shop anytime,”
    ~~~
    Xia nodded. “Then we'll have to be quick,” She began to play a song on her Lyre to allow those around her the ability move faster.
    ~~~~~
    Tim nodded “I know just the Formula” and disappeared into his room.
    “Good luck,” Carl muttered “We did mention he's an Alchemist... not a Provisioner...”
    Sam shrugged and licked his teeth. He blushed at his own action but he was still getting used to having a tongue.

    Lamia nodded as the Freeblood spoke. She followed her into the room with the portal, but hesitated. She still was apprehensive of portals in general. She didn't use them often.

    Ssulvex would've glared at the Fae if he could, but instead resorted to a bitter hiss. "No. It's perfectly fine, Fae.." he frowned. "I'm just rather.. sensitive about my sightless issue.." he stated weakly. "I'm.. sorry about snapping.." he wasn't exactly used to using the word 'Sorry', so it came out rather slowly and mostly hissed.

    Shiasia nearly jumped skittishly as Colby almost shouted to her. She turned briefly to look at him. Her eyes fell on his son and she frowned slightly. She glanced back at Colby. "Yous knows.." she began, her accent returning. "I would give you an answer if you didn't sound so rude and angry.." she finished rather haughtily.

    She turned to head back to the bank. She pulled out a small blanket and wrapped her own baby boy in it, whilst pulling from her backpack a cloth shawl, wrapping it around her own shoulders. She pulled the hood of her robe over her head and continued walking, eventually quickening her pace to fastwalk.

    "I don't understand why.." she murmured in confusion, wondering why she felt so afraid of Colby. She felt like she needed to get away from him. And quickly.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++

    Stinsmia waved gently to Mizria as she left. "B-Bye miss Mizria..!" she said quietly, before hugging close to the Freeblood. She twiddled her thumbs innocently.

    Vaska merely snorted in disdain. "And you're not a monster for abusing a child? How ironic. Just go back to the underworld from whence you came, you-." he spat angrily, now starting to lose his own temper as he cursed at the Kerra in Dark Elven, his eyes flashing briefly between pure white and red.

    He had had enough of the male Kerra.. And quite frankly, he hoped the man would just shut his mouth soon.

    The Iksar woman continued to read her book in silence. Within roughly 30 minutes or so, someone caught sight of her, gasping. They looked towards her and then at the missing notice, comparing the sketch and the person.

    "What are you surprised at, sir?" the Iksar asked in confusion, quirking her brow. The man to whom she asked the question said nothing and shrugged his shoulders in feigned innocence. He slowly began walking towards the guardhouse, and then went inside.

    "Oh, who.. Who.." he muttered, bumping into Tygarr by accident, having not noticed him. He then took a small scroll and quill from his pack and started writing on it. It was stating that the missing Iksar woman, Ssalzzirra Trekeszra, had been found. He handed the finished scroll over to the guardhouse clerk and simply said;

    "She's just outside sitting on a bench." he stated hastily. He just hoped the clerk would notify one of the guards, or at least someone in the guardhouse, that the woman had finally been found, so that they could at least investigate what had happened. They were not likely to hear a peep from Ssalzzirra though, as she had lost her memory.

    (( I meant Iksar in my last post that introduced the amnesiac missing woman. She was supposed to be an Iksar.

    And also for Stinsmia, instead of a conjuror.. Would either of you mind if I had her eventually become a paladin instead? I understand that class a bit better than conjuror.

    Plus, I think paladin fits for some reason, hehe :3 ))

    Ross nodded her head to the kitten as she walked through the door, turning and pulling it closed. She pulled her ring of keys from her pocket and locked the door. Ross regarded the key ring for a moment before removing the one for her office door and hiding it within her breastplate. She took a deep breath and went down the stairs into the main room. She raised an eyebrow at the two yelling. The Captain strode across the room and stood between the two. She turned to the Kerra. "I would like to have a word with you and your wife." She glanced at the Freeblood. "Privately."
    Syvlie grabbed the gnome's shoulder and began to lead him back to the cell.
    Nerry chewed his lip. "Yeah. Sure." He raised his hands and began to cast a spell.
    The clerk took the scroll and read it, looking back up questioningly. The man scratched his head and looked back down at the scroll, unsure of why the iksar had bothered to write it down if he could just tell him. "I'll notify the Captain."

    Aloysiius reached the temple and found the front door open. He tried to stop himself, but the momentum and the rug in front of the giant leaf ramp on the other side of the door send him well into the room, bouncing off the far wall in a daze.
    Bella took some deep breaths to calm herself, still clinging to her father's hand. "Is will bes alrights. Is will bes alrights." She muttered to herself. She tried not to think about Tetri's brother while she prayed quietly in her head.
    Hoddmimir peeked over the top of the chair he had been hiding behind. "Tch. Trying to get yourself killed, old rat? What is that, the second or third time you've taken a strike to the back these last few days?"
    Rothgut gasped for breath again. "To thes...Eth...Etherneres...withs...you's, moth-bat!"
    "Oh! 'Moth-bat'! I like that one, Tonga-kebab."
    Bella raised a hand and cast a silencing spell on the Arasai. "You's is nots helpings!"
    ***
    Pepin turned to look at Aleteriq in time to see Eseron dissolve into arcane residue that was caught and scattered by the wind. Llew winced as she felt her spell break before raising her staff and stepping towards the assassin. Rene paused in her spell, suddenly forgetting the next step. Alaric struggled to his feet, tossing a broken staff aside and began to weave his hands before him.
    Charlemin scowled, knowing that the newcomer's words were true. He sheathed his sword. "Pepin! Get her away from here! She can't be near me as I pray!"
    The Squire knelt and took Alyerra by the elbow. "Come on."
    Danlore spun towards the assassin who had attacked Esorn. He raised his staff and cast a fireball as Gleipnir growled, but stayed by Aleteriq.

    As the two ships turned broadside to one another the orc captain called a gutteral order. The crude orc cannons shook their ship but the cannonballs bounced off of the glowing ward of the other ship. Asphodelus raised her scimitar and gave a war cry and the crew began to toss ropes and boarding planks across the gap of the two decks. The orcs who ran to cut the ropes were cut down by spell and arrow from the Lurln'Ley's quarter deck. Kal helped another crewmember get a boarding plank into place and hopped up over the rail to walk across it, gaining the other side quickly and swinging twin swords in great swathes to keep the area clear for the crewmen behind her as they came across. Rainer found a rope to swing across on while Padparadisch scrambled across the plank after Kal, where he vented his pent up anger with his daggers, which whistled through the air.

    Ginnar laughed. "Ay've 'ad dinner at Lil' Llew's 'ouse! Ay ain't afraid o' any'un's cookin' now!"
    Nordri shook his head stoically, but could not keep it up before bursting into hearty laughter.

    “Well my wife is in one of yourrr cells,” Tygarr growled.
    The Gnome made no protest as he was led to the cell. He was trembling as they walked still terrified of the Freeblood Assassin's words.
    In the infirmary Elena relaxed into a dreamless sleep.
    “Thank you,” Priestess Anna said.
    Mordedana stepped over to the cot where Calish was laying. “I might be able to help him...”
    Telsi nodded and stood up. She walked over to a far corner just in case more holy power was needed.
    Mordedana prayed to Marr to heal the Tier'dal and replenish the blood in his body. White light glowed around her and Calish.
    ~~~~
    A Koada'dal looked up as the human came crashing in “Are you alright?” she asked. She cast Regrowth on the man in case he had injured himself falling into the wall.
    “Sorry,” Zach said “I should have acted sooner...”
    Ethan shook his head as he grabbed another chair and forced his brother's injured foot onto it so it was elevated.
    “Why don'ts yous wears shoes?” one of the pinkies asked.
    Ethan and Zach glanced at each other and laughed.
    “Is its so thats yous cans feels the rhythms betters?” Fayberry asked.
    Both human monks quirked eyebrows not understanding the young girl's question.
    “Fayberry, hush,” Calarys whispered.
    ~~~~~
    Lazzera saw how nervous Lamia was and sighed “I'll go first, just follow me,” she said. She stepped into the portal and vanished.
    ~~~~~
    Kelauriel sighed “How could I have forgotten to introduce myself? I'm Kelauriel Hawkwing, destined to be the best archer in all of Norrath,” she said to the Iksar as they walked
    ~~~~
    The Assassin who had “killed” the reflection stood dazed and confused. The fireball struck and knocked him over.
    “Fool!” Consilvus shouted when he saw the Assassin had merely destroyed an illusion “Are you so feeble minded you don't know flesh and blood from magic!” he laughed “Let me handle the pretty lights! That's all Illusionists are capable of pretty lights,”
    The Assassin swallowed “Please Master Consilvus... I'll do better... I-I promise, give me another chance to do it on my own...” his eyes glazed. He took his knife and stabbed himself. He fell to the ground bleeding heavily.
    Alyerra's hair shortened and as Pepin touched her elbow she turned and hissed at him showing her fangs were a touch longer.
    Senriala grabbed her daughter's shoulders “Alyerra listen to me, fight it child,”
    “You're too late Senriala!” Consilvus shouted “She needs to feed... I doubt if she even cares right now who you are.”
    The Tier'dal woman ignored him “Aly, look at me! Focus.”
    ~~~~
    Xia transformed into a cloud of bats and flew across to the other ship. As she transformed back into her Freeblood self she took out her daggers and sliced at the orcs who came towards her.
    A young Tier'dal woman stood against the mast. She was crying. She had recently been promoted to be in charge of the slaves.
    One of the Orcs grabbed her by the wrist “You will fight or you will die a traitor!”
    The young woman trembled.
    “Sniveling coward!” the orc shouted as he raised his sword and brought it down towards the other slaver.
    ~~~~
    Tim smiled and walked out and into his lab.
    “I'm curious and bored,” Carl said as he turned his chair and using his hands to turn the wheels followed the alchemist.
    Sam sat down on the bed and sighed. He spoke to the dwarves using his mind “I wish I could do something for you... as payment, but...I... don't have anything....”
    ~~~~
    Lazzera appeared on some large rocks in the middle of a lake. Her boots touched the slick surface and she slipped into the water. Her head impacted the rock and she fell unconscious.
    Lamia frowned and stepped through as well. She sighed in slight frustration as she realized Lazera had quickly fallen unconscious. She grimaced and quickly dove into the water, pulling out and positioned the body to lay out flat and evenly on a flat part of the rocks.
    Ssulvex turned his head towards the Fae as they walked and he gave a slight hint of a smile. "N.. Nice to meet you.. Kelauriel.. I'm Ssssulvex.." he said in response. His tail twitched and he kept his hood over his head as it slipped a bit.
    Shiasia went into the bank promptly, actually now trying to avoid Colby altogether. She withdrew a small bag of gold and then started walking out towards the bell, which interestingly, was only a couple of feet behind Colby from where he was standing. She shoved the gold into one of her robe pockets.
    "Excuse me.." she said as she accidentally brushed right onto Colby while passing by him. By this time Kryvikki had left the tavern and had headed into a bakery, cane knocking gently against the wood flooring of the tree city.
    "At least the two of us can have some quiet.. All by ourselves.." the young mother murmured to her son, just about to use the bell.
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++
    Stinsmia hugged her mother gently. Within a couple of minutes however, she was overcome by a wave of nausea, and she suddenly skittered over to a garbage can in the nearby room. The girl suddenly heaved once, twice, and a third time, groaning.
    "Ugh.. I don't.. feel so good.." she mumbled, leaning over said garbage bin and waiting for the nausea to end. Her tail drooped and she suddenly vomited again, feeling rather fatigued.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++
    Vaska glanced up at Ross briefly, as did Vhyrenia, before they looked back down. Vhyrenia pulled out a small file and began filing her nails. Sure she was a Kerra, but she absolutely hated the sharp nails that she so often grew. Her purring grew a bit louder.
    Vaska in the meantime was looking at a small book in his hands, which was filled with diagrams, equations, etcetera.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++
    The man had to notify the clerk by parchment because he had a sore throat. Ssalzzirra pulled out a blank book with a quill and started scribbling some notes into it quietly, looking at her other book for comparison. She jotted a few more study notes before continuing with her actual book, which was actually a sort of textbook a friend had written her.
    It was for studying Common. Sebilisian was her main language, so her Common was rather.. broken.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++
    A female Kerran slave aboard the ship merely looked towards the Dark Elf with a rather eerie and dull expression. "You must do as the masters say.. I must as well.." On her head was a crown-like headdress which was imbued with a charm. The rest of what she was wearing.. Well, was basically what bellydancers would wear. She merely watched as one orc brought the blade down towards the other woman.
    "Pleasing and defending the Masters is what we were meant to do, Dark Elf. To disobey them is to deserve punishment.." she mumbled. One of the orcs stroked her head as if she were a pet, and then removed the magic-inhibiting collar from her neck. That same orc gave her a command and she nodded, heading out to the deck.
    Her eyes immediately locked onto a particular Dark Elf; Padparadisch. She began to cast Lifetap, a sickly red and green aura surrounding her as she planned on leeching the life from him and giving it to herself.
  11. Bellacouste Active Member
    Ross nodded. "So she is." She swept her hand towards the stairs to the cells. "Shall we?"
    Sylvie guided the gnome into the cell and closed the door, locking it.
    Norry stepped back and stood by the door, unsure of what he was supposed to do now.
    ***
    Aloysiius scrambled to his feet, muttering aplogies and thanks at the same time. "A friend of mine has been injured and needs help." He finally said.
    "Heh, noes, they's is nots Bards." Bella tried to quickly cover up the little girl's question. "Although, I's has knowns some bards who likes to go barefoots to feel the musics when on wooden floors."
    Rothgut coughed and Bella quickly turned her attention back to him.
    ***
    Llew's gaze turned coldly to Consilvus. "You're dispicable. And all I need is pretty lights to rid the likes of you from Norrath!" She weaved her hands and cast Untraviolet Beam at him.
    Aleteriq began to cry as the assassin killed himself. Danlore stepped back towards him. "It'll be alright, Al." The boy pulled his hood up so that he could not see what was happening around him and clutched his stomach again.
    Pepin looked to Senriala. "Please, Charlemin can't fight until we move her away." He turned to Alyerra. "I'll knock her out, if we have to."
    ***
    Padparadisch growled and charged at the orc by the mast. His daggers swung swiftly at the orc's flesh. "Come, orc! Fight one who wishes to!" His scratchy voice rang out. His last swing faltered as the Kerra's spell began to take effect.
    Rainer and Kal stood side-by-side fighting off the orcs. They pushed through the throng and into the cabin where, because of the orcs' bulk they were forced to fight the two one at a time. Kal had been serving on ships for many years and knew that her small size gave her the advantage in cramped, under deck quarters. The orcs fell quickly before the two, piling up in the corridor as they went towards the hold where the slaves were.
    The orc Captain ordered the cannons to fire again as Del found a rope to swing across on. She pointed both of her long, curved swords at him. "Come. Your blood will be as nothing in the ocean waves."
    The Orc Captain, known as Grooggu, roared.
    "You, elf, are already nothing!" He swung his gigantic scimitar with both hands at Del.
    ***
    Nordri waved his hand dismissively and Ginnar shook his head. "Nay, laddie buck. Yer jus' be an agent o' good in this world 'o ours an' we'll more than be glad ter call it even."
    Tygarr nodded and began to head down the stairs.
    Vonelix sat down on his cot “Can't I at least have the cuffs off?” he asked in a whimper.
    The white glow faded and Calish blinked.
    Telsi ran back over to the cot and hugged the Tier'dal. “I'm sorry,” she whispered.
    Calish returned the embrace “It's alright Enavra.”
    Telsi shook her head “I could have killed you...”
    “But you didn't,” Calish answered.
    “There is an enchanter here... perhaps.” Telsi began.
    “No, don't even think about it. I want you. I want the free thinking woman I...” he bit his lip he was unsure of what the word he was looking for was as they had both been raised in a world of hate where hate was everything. He knew did not hate Telsianya but what was the word for it? What was the word for his strong feelings?
    ~~~~
    The Fury Koada'dal nodded “Lead the way,” she said.
    Zach sighed “As Monks our bodies are our primary weapons. Wearing shoes or gloves is like sheathing our weapons.”
    “Of course some of us should consider the idea as we are very clumsy,” Ethan said with a smile at his brother.
    Fayberry nodded at the explanations.
    ~~~~
    Relane frowned. “Perhaps you should go lay down.” she suggested.
    ~~~~
    Consilvus smiled he started to move his Possessed Essence to intercept the beam but was startled by two knives hitting him in the back. The Ultraviolet beam hit and forced him back.
    Tari appeared with another knife in her hand. “Enough!” the Arasai shouted “You have no right to slaughter my men like that!”
    The Assassins remaining stopped fighting as Tari emerged from the shadows.
    Consilvus staggered “How dare you! You treacherous little insect!”
    Senriala nodded her understanding to Pepin “Alyerra, please, fight this...” the mother pleaded with her daughter.
    Memories raced through the Freeblood's mind of herself as a little girl being the only one who could calm her mother down when she was hallucinating. Her eyes flickered between red and blue for a moment before they closed and her hair returned to it's normal length and color. Her body became limp.
    ~~~~
    Lazzera began to cough as she was laid flat on the ground. On her way down she had swallowed much water and had not gotten a chance to cast water breathing.
    ~~~~~~~
    Kelauriel smiled and began to glide towards the ram. She paused to make sure that the Iksar was still with her.
    The orc by the mast turned his sword on the Dirge after being interrupted “Perhaps you would like to take her place?” he laughed.
    Xia charged the Kerra who was casting. She sang Painful Lamentations to distract the Kerra from her casting.
    ~~~~
    Sam nodded. He thought about the dwarf's words for awhile. He had an idea of what he wanted to do. He spoke with his mind to the dwarves “I think I would like to help other slaves... but I have no idea where to go to do that...”
    There was the sound of an explosion in the room next door. Tim waved the smoke away from his face.
    “Um is that supposed to happed?” Carl asked.
    “Erm not exactly,” Tim mumbled “This'll be extra strong,”
    “Tribunal help the Dwarf,” Carl mumbled.
    ~~~~~
    Alyerra stood in her old room. A growl forced her to turn.
    The skinny orc stood with her claws extended “You can not defeat me.” she hissed “I will always be a part of you. Thanks to that energy those mages instilled in our body I can be stronger.”
    “I won't be controlled by you!” Alyerra shouted as she drew two rapiers.

    Lamia frowned as the Freeblood began to cough. She shook her head and cast a water breathing spell.

    Ssulvex nodded in affirmation that he was indeed following the Fae. Though admittedly, it was not particularly hard considering he had learned to see by sound and touch.

    "Sssso.. What do you typically like to do?" he asked with a gentle hiss, deciding it might as well be a good idea to break the silence and begin a conversation.

    +++++++++++++++++

    Shiasia glanced back behidn her at Colby briefly to make sure he was not following her, and then she touched the bell and vanished, now ending up in Freeport. She needed to at least recover the rest of her savings and belongings, for they were in the Freeport bank and her stuff was still in her apartment.

    She headed towards the nearest bank, and once inside, withdrew everything from her account. She stuffed the money into her pocket, and then she began to make her way to her apartment.

    She looked back again, wondering if anyone was following her.

    +++++++++++++++++

    Stinsmia whimpered and nodded, shakily standing up and trudging into her bedroom, getting into the bed slowly (though with difficultly considering her stature as a Ratonga and the height of the bed) and snuggling under the covers. She proceeded to shiver for a couple of seconds until the blankets warmed her up.

    Vhyrenia glanced at her husband and leaned against him. She sighed wistfully and nuzzled him softly. Tearing his gaze from the book, the Freeblood frowned. "What's wrong, dear?" he asked.

    "Oh, just having wishful thinking.."

    "About..?"

    The kerra blushed slightly. "Wish we could have kids together.. Or at least maybe we could adopt one."

    "With time my dear, with time. The gods will give us a child when they deem it a good time.."

    Ssalzzirra pulled her pack off of her back and started to look through it, scanning to find something. She pushed aside a couple of things and continued looking, but to no avail. Midway through, she frowned and stopped. She forgot what she was looking for already!

    "What wassss I..?" she mumbled confusedly.

    The Kerra girl, whose name was Xiao (for she was originally from the island of Mara, hence the;.. Asian name ), gave a fresh breath as she leeched the life from Padparadisch, but when she was charged and the Painful Lamentations hit her, she cried out in pain, falling over as the sound blasted her.

    Due to falling over, the charmed headdress on her head loosened just barely. The control on her flickered for a moment, but she quickly became charmed again. Her eyes locked onto Xia and she growled in anger, attempting to dig her sharp claws into the Freeblood's skin.

    Sylvie paused and took the keyring from her belt again. "Come over here and put your hands out."
    Ross followed the Kerra down the stairs.

    "Right." Aloysiius turned back and pulled out his lute. "Here, this will help." He played a quick song to make the priest's steps lighter and quicker before slipping out the door and heading out at a quick pace himself.
    Bella turned back to her father and squeezed his paw.
    Hoddmimir folded his arms across his chest and quietly pouted.
    ***
    Pepin rushed to catch Alyerra before she fell over. He picked her up and stood. "Come on, Miss. Senriala. Let's get her away from here."
    Llew paused as Tari appeared.
    Aleteriq sat very still, his sobbing stopped. Danlore glanced over his shoulder, worried.
    ***
    Padparadisch growled. "Your people are nothing but pawns to the Teir'dal empire." He spit at the orc's feet and swung his daggers.
    The corridor widened and Kal and Rainer found a rather large orc guarding the door to the hold. Kal moved to the left and Rainer to the right and they charged from either side.
    Del rolled out of the way of the swing, but Grooggu was quick and his blade did not hit the deck. He spun and caught her with his elbow. The Feir'dal reeled back, but swung and cut a swathe of red across the green flesh under the arm.
    Grooguu smirked wickedly around his tusks. "Ah, a challenge. It has been so long."

    Ginnar nodded. "Aye, our neice, Del, does tha' sorta work."
    "Well, ou' at sea, but Ay'm sure she woul'nt mind workin' on lan' from time-ter-time." Nordri added.
    The two jumped at the explosion. "Wot in Brell's Beard was tha'?"
    ***
    Aleteriq heard yelling and looked up. He was not sure where he was now, but he saw Alyerra and someone who looked like her. He cringed and began to cry again.

    ((I'd just like to point out that it doesn't really make sense for a Kerra to be from Mara since it's a fully human population. The only ones that aren't are recent arrivals of the Far Seas Trading Company, who have not been there long enough to integrate into the population. The name 'Xiao' is also one letter off from 'Xia' and, especially since they are interacting, it might get very confusing with them.))

    (( Ah, sorry for the confusion, Bella, I suppose I should have clarified (which frankly I didn't think of doing until it was too late to edit the post. To clarify, I had meant that her family (everyone from her mother's side and a few people from her father's) had relocated to the island due to being under constant threat of the Freeport Militia. Her mother was still pregnant with her when they moved there, and a few months after getting settled, Xiao was born. So I suppose, hereditarily, she isn't from Mara, but location-wise (where she was born), she was. (If that's okay, of course. When I made her on Permafrost, she was indeed meant to be a sort of "foreigner" Kerra in a sense, meaning she is Kerra, but she was raised in the culture of Mara)

    And also I will change her name in my next post to Ling or Ming. ))

    The Gnome did as he was told although the thought briefly crossed his mind to grab the paladin through the bars but fear of the Freeblood upstairs made him change his mind.
    Speckle stood as her husband came to the cell “I trrrust you brrring good news?” she said “Such as we arrre going home and taking the br...” she saw Ross and swallowed “Ourrr darrrling neice home?”
    “She says she wants to talk to us.” Tygarr answered.
    Speckle glared at the human “What is therrre to discuss? The Iksarrr kidnapped ourrr neice. The only thing we need to discuss is when we arrrre going home.”

    The Fury cast Spirit of the Wolf on herself before taking off after the bard.
    Zach held out his hand and cast Mend on the old Ratonga.
    “You should have used that on yourself,” Ethan sighed.
    “He's more injured than I am.” Zach answered.

    Senriala nodded.
    Consilvus turned.
    Tari was still standing down the hill only with in range of her throwing knives. “We're done Consilvus. You paid me to help you find the Vampire, you paid me to bring my gang to aid you. You didn't pay me to let you destroy their minds!”
    Consilvus smiled “Isn't it interesting... “ he turned to the Assassins “You follow such a coward? See how she keeps her distance from the fray?”
    “I got my reasons,” Tari shouted.
    “I have my reasons,” Brienae muttered under her breath.
    “I don't need your help De`Esalcoda!” Tari growled. She closed her eyes as she saw the looks of doubt on her men's faces.
    “Best be a good reason Clearshadow...” Consilvus continued “Although I think we all know, you're just a coward.”
    “I'm allergic to Jum Jum,” the Arasai said.
    Consilvus laughed “She's afraid of getting a few hives. Is this really someone you want to follow?”
    Brienae swallowed. “She's deathly allergic to Jum Jum, if she comes much closer or even if the wind sends the pollen of the Jum Jum bushes towards her it could kill her.”
    “Thanks for that Cuz...” Tari growled “in our next life remind me to kill you... it will save me so much trouble.”
    The remaining Assassins looked at each other trying to decide their path.
    “Allow me to help you decide,” Consilvus said as he started casting.
    Brienae glided over to Llew “I know it's not ideal but if we can keep them loyal to Tari... they might leave.” she sighed “I know Tari, I've know her for...” she sighed, quickly cast blessing of Xegony and flew up to Llew's ear. She whispered so that only Llew could hear her “This is my third life... in my past lives she has been there... our names change... but I know her evil...”

    Kelauriel turned and pulled out her bow “I'm a hunter, and destined to be the best Archer in Norrath.” she answered with a smile.

    Lazzera sat up still coughing. “S-sorry,” she stammered “I forgot how slippery those rocks are.” she looked around. “I can cast water breathing on myself but I forgot I needed to...” she swallowed “Are you hungry?”

    Xiaminara hissed as the claws sank into her skin. She looked into the Kerra's eyes and sang this time she sang Lullaby hoping to lull the Kerra to sleep.
    The Teir'dal woman looked up for a moment as Padparadisch fought her orc master. She turned her face down as he spoke about the Orcs being pawns of the Tier'dal empire. There was a reason she was here...

    Sam nodded.
    Tim poured the tea into a cup.
    Carl quirked an eyebrow as he watched the contents of the vial ooze into the tea cup. “Um... I think you might want to thin that out some.”
    Tim said nothing as he went back into the other room.
    Sam signed “Is everything alright? We heard an explosion.”
    “Everything is fine,” Tim answered “Just a little bit of a chemical reaction,”
    Carl rolled behind him shaking his head. “Alchemy should never be mixed with food or drink,” he muttered.
    Tim handed Ginnar the tea cup. “Please be honest and tell what you think. I've been working with the formula for ages.”
    Carl shook his head “Formula being the key word there... not recipe.”
    Tim shot his eldest brother a look.

    “Alteriq?” Alyerra whispered “How did you...” she was cut off as chains came from the wall and pulled her back.
    “It's my mind and body too. I have equal control for now. I just need to over power your will which shouldn't be that hard.” the Inner Demon spoke. Her hair was short and white compared to Alyerra's long golden hair, her eyes were red to Alyerra's own blue and her face was wrinkled and dry. “Now as for our little trespasser,”
    Alyerra struggled against the chains.
    The Inner Demon charged towards Alteriq.
    A long wooden staff appeared in front of the boy blocking the demonic being from Alteriq. Mesena had manifested next to th boy. Her yellow eyes focused on the creature.
    A hand touched Alteriq's shoulder. “It's alright,” Jacob said as he pulled the young boy back.

    Mesena stepped in front of Alteriq.

    Lamia looked to the Freeblood as she woke up and she shook her head in reply to the question. "No, no I'm not.." she said quietly. The young woman had not eaten in several days, but she didn't particularly care. She indeed wasn't hungry at all the past few days, and she couldn't understand why.

    Ssulvex frowned slightly and shook his head. "No, no, that's not quite what I meant." he said, giving a hiss of slight annoyance. "What I wassss assking was if you had any hobbies? Asssside from archery, that iss! I mean, like do you cook, make potions?" he clarified, for once actually finding a conversation enjoyable, despite his anti-social tendencies.

    Shiasia looked through out her former apartment and went up to the bold bookcase that was built into the wall. She pulled out the last of the books and stuffed them into her bag, hurrying out of the old building and then slamming the door. A glance here, and a glance there, and she saw that there was no one there. Gladly she started walking towards the bell once more, no longer scared of being jumped by someone.

    "I do believe it's high time to leave this nasty, filthy city.. I much prefer Kelethin.." she murmured softly, making sure to stop speaking as she fast walked past the guard nearby.

    Stinsmia groaned in slight discomfort and soon closed her eyes in quiet sleep. Her breathing relaxed a bit.

    Vhyrenia looked to her husband, and then they both nodded in unison. They both stood up and began to leave the guardhouse.

    Ssalzzirra pulled out a small spellbook, and then a small gemstone. She set the gemstone down and briefly waved her hand, using magic to cause the gemstone to float in her palm. While maintaining the spell, she looked to her spellbook for a moment and mumbled something.

    "< If I can just somehow imbue the spells within..>" She closed the spellbook and began to think of a couple of spells she could test with. Though these things could wait until she found a secluded spot to test in, as tinkering with magic sometimes led to disastrous consequences.

    Ling dug her claws further into the Freeblood's skin, leting out a feline hiss as a response to Xia's own. Though her struggles quickly ceased and she soon fell asleep, eyes flickering closed as her body relaxed, deep, somewhat steady breaths raising and lowering her chest.
