Wizards cant nuke....not like Magicians anyhow /bow erm /grovel

So, far be it from me - yeah sure; to moan about the dps slack that the wizard class has had to endure for the last few expansions losing out time and again to zerkers....

For example, our Fusion not criting or twin casting or our Dichotomic not twincasting or having any focus other that the new threads of power belt and the mage focus BUT...yes but mages do now outdps the most established and powerful wizards in Norrath!
and.....We not talking a few K here..........Trinkleteers! Poppycocks I tell you!

Issues....a few....nothing big like...ya know....I smell some gas....its dark in here....someone got a light.....?

Wizard
1) Wiz nuke on our raids - assuming normal mobs - 2.7 to 3.4KK
2) Frostbound Alliance - 2.69KK no crit, no twin, no SD, no passing go, no collecting any focus at all- Recast 1 min and takes at least two wizards to cast with twin running....
3) Wiz Dichotomic - no focus allowed except new phlog belt an mage proc - avg crit =just over 1 KK - 1 min recast - no Chromahaze allowed, IOG and Arcane Fury allowed but not stackable, no twin but has been known to crit 3.4kk when the stars and planets align....
4) New Wizard Skyfire - crits for 1 KK with vortex focus and SD allowed - ~2.7KK with Chromahaze and IOG/Arcane Fury - a nice and expected upgrade....
5) Arcane Fusion nerfed..cant twin cant crit...
6) Wildmagic nerfed - cant twin

So why the long face? If you going to increase or decrease - for that matter; the dps of a particular class can you please do it gradually.....so maybe we dont notice like what was intended I guess!!??

Normal run in T2/3 Raid.....full multi disciplines focus and burn......Check out the max nuke by our amazing Trinkleteers! 5KK+ and 4.89KK !!!!!! Not cool - yes cool for raid so perhaps I should just grin and bear it .......like the last three friggen expansions!

Come on DEVS! Dont give wizzies nukes that cant focus or twin or crit - rather just lower the damage and make us Feydwer vendors like you really want.....why so much hate for wizards....I shall like to petition Al`Kabor himself!

What amazing focus is allowed to stack for these barbaric trinkleteers? Wizards can only marvel in envious humility.....

[Edit - I have to say I dont think our rogues or zerkers were really trying here - at least I didnt rile them up like I did the mages...I needed them to red line it for evidence!]

Why you allow Mage to have 3/4 pct DMG focus with emperors familiar/Drogans familar but wizards $h!7z out of luck because it clashes with wizards Familiar?

I expect a few comments here pro and con no less so than from Big Mouth - who has to prove he knows it all. I have no problem being corrected here especially on the stacking issues...and if I'm mistaken, hey.... just prove me wrong. I prefer that.

it just amazes me how many ppl have to rant about what another class does better than them when most of it is the player, and what each has done to better their char ... stop worrying about other classes, play the game, enjoy your char, and have fun doing it

Wizard DPS is fine, it's just Mages are a little OP in RoS.

Speaking for the priest population of which you were all more than vocal about in our recent nerfing, Isn't a wizards primary duty to TL to bind, and a mages primary duty to summon mod rods? They should never be able to do more than a real DPS class!!!

JK, only in the most remote instance should any class be able to come close to a wizard. DPS is all they have.

Although, what is that parse time? 218 would just be the first time VS is up?

sorry, i don't know a lot about the parsing ... i just remember someone saying casters aren't always parsed correctly due to where they are located

Most guilds do not even burn during phase 1 because of what phase 2 entails. This is a typical nerf thread that starts with 0 facts just numbers. In that time wizards will do higher than that mage when burning equally.

Outside of the post being full of gibberish it also does not compare apples to Apples. Those mages are clearly burning while no one else is, but lets use this for comparison...

No, zerkers have chain armour, war cry, and aura. There is no potion of PoK stone/guild portal/clickie for those!

I think this could be adressed by bringing back the potion belt and making anniversary quests easier.

The funny part is how much the OP got wrong about his own class, and yet he came to the forums to whine about class balance. Time would probably be better spent researching so he can improve his own playing...

That said, I have reliable data that Mages are 3.6% OP, +/- 0.1%. That's intended to give kizant a 0.1% buffer to maintain balance.

(BTW, in seriousness, the balance issue is all the non-casters below the top 3, not a butt hurt Wizard who hasn't figured out how to stack beguiler's synergy with chromatic haze)

Wizards should be able to out DPS any other class while AFK. Just look at the character creation screen and check. Got to say it feels good not being the upset one here.
