Seeds of Destruction flagging - 6 keys per week?

Plain and simple: Time gating for a reason of just keeping people out of the content on a TLP is nonsense and should be removed. There is no reason why everyone who participates in the raid shouldn't be flagged. Raids already have a max capacity so those people that attended should be flagged. Have a keying process like some raids already have where you do a task(s) to request the raid and be done with it. Do the raid and everyone who attended gets flagged. Done.

This whole having to wait 2-4 weeks as a normal sized guild in order to do all the content which is relevant for 3 months in total is absurd. Hope the devs are looking at the future expansions PAST SoD as well, not just SoD.

You mean people started pointing out that it was completely possible for the flagging process to be done within the timeline and still have time for gearing to occur.
They can do the content in era, the only thing they cannot do is get everyone in the guild all BiS. In Era on Live servers guilds who were doing SoD raids were still also doing SoF raids, and when UF came out for the majority of the release the guilds doing UF were still doing SoD raids as well. It is normal to do multiple expansions of content. Similarly, as the person referenced it is normal that some guilds were doing content from the previous expansions. In the SoD era for live servers, there were still guilds that were doing DoN, DoDh, PoR, TSS, & TBS. The same was still true in UF, as group gear mudification did not really become the death knell of the low and mid tier guilds until HoT where the best group gear was much more accessible.

Being possible because you raid lockouts doesn't mean it is something that is okay and shouldn't be reviewed. Just because TLP servers have a faster schedule doesn't mean players should be expected to raid lockouts to get to the final raids with some time to enjoy them before the next expansion.

If you don't want time gates, then just play on live servers. Make guilds that do the content using just in era gear. Yes the first few expansions will not be nearly as hard as they are on the TLP servers, but once you get past the mobs needed their special buff and debuff spells, then you are fine. Also, since AoC are now available on live servers, farmers cannot lock you out. Your guild has as long as it wants to gear up and do the content "in era."

They already do not have to raid lockouts to get to the final raids with time to enjoy them. They just don't like how much time they have to enjoy them and want more, but they are also completely unwilling to acknowledge and use the ways that already exist for them to get more time to enjoy them. Further, in era on Live servers, all of your high end, cutting edge, and bleeding edge guilds raided on lockouts for the newest expansion. Some even did so on some previous expansions still.

From what I am understanding is you can get to the final raids but you will have very little time before the next expansion unlocks. The request is to speed it up so that you can spend some time in the final zones before you move on to the next expansion. Unless you are split raiding or raiding lockouts it is going to take a good chunk of the time to get to the final zone and the next expansion will be ready to unlock.

Why is it more important to speed flagging when it's so much easier to just delay the unlock of the next expansion on these expansions where by some accounts there's just not enough time?

Why is it important to artificially slow down the flagging rate by having it limited to something like 6 keys a week which would take 9 raid cycles to fully flag a raid (minus being able to bring in limited unkeyed numbers).
  9. Spacemonkey555 Augur

That's not slowing it down, it's leaving it at the current speed.

Just because the speed was okay when the content was originally released doesn't mean that it shouldn't be reviewed at a later date when conditions change.

Bro. We all know you don't play on TLP servers at all. Please just stop derailing the conversation with completely uninformed opinions. There is no need to chime in about something that doesn't affect you in the slightest. Just click on a different thread. It'll all be okay.

Yes, there absolutely were guilds raiding all of that, but let's also be accurate... I don't know a single guild on live that was clearing SoD Tower AND still raiding Solteris. Just because there were small guilds raiding DoN/DoDh/PoR, mid-tiers raiding TSS/Solteris, mid+ raiding Solteris/SoF, and the big guilds raiding SoD, doesn't mean that sort of structure makes sense on a TLP in current play. I would also point out that a guild clearing Tower that decides to go hit Crystallos to gear side-characters is 100% not the same as "we farm Tower AND Crystallos!" It simply does not make sense on a TLP schedule to hold players to a live-style keying schedule.

That's a valid question, one which I'm sure some folks might be asking come VoA due to annoyance of Argath essentially requiring a week just for himself for T1.

Because 3 months in an expansion is already too long.

The January patch is up on the Test server, and there has been no change to flagging.
  16. Penelo Lorekeeper

I'm sure it'll be fixed in time for Mischief, I am not worried.
  17. Tweakfour17 Augur

The other recent flagging changes Ngreth made didn't have patch notes either, have you tried to do any raids on Test and see if the drops are different or are you just going off the notes?
  18. Penelo Lorekeeper

To be fair Ngreth never said he was going to fix SoD flagging. The only commitment we had was that it would be brought up at the January meeting.

We got no commitment on fixing SoF flagging either. Just that it would be considered.

@Devs is this still potentially on the table?

Bumping this so Devs read this over the 10 other thread posts all speculating about the "Next" TLPs
