Did anybody who doesn't play a ranger test this? I took my ranger alt out for a spin this morning and was seeing 2-5 headshots a minute. They still land for 250k minimum and still crit for up to 700k. My ranger is poorly geared in old group gear. I'm sustaining 30k DPS sustained against mobs that aren't exactly trivial and in crap gear. Just because a mob is one level below me doesn't mean they're trivial. I haven't tested my zerker out yet, but I'm guessing it'll be just about the same for him. Was this what SOE intended? To double sustained dps in normal xp groups?
Group geared toons should be able to sustain 30k dps, no? I would prefer all dps classes to be able to sustain more than a merc. Or is there something larger I am missing?
Group geared toons shouldn't sustain 30k DPS? If not, then SOE needs to seriously adjust the amount of damage you get from a headshot, decap, or assassinate.
Well others of us have tested this after the update, some with raid gear and using parsers. The results are maybe 1 proc ON Average per minute is raid geared.
I am saying they *should* be able to sustain that. Heck, when I used to complain about dps mercs, I was told by a variety of group geared toons that sustaining 30k shouldn't be an issue..so I shut up about it.
Many classes can sustain that in group gear. The HS isn't overpowered unless it was proccing over 20 times per minute.
Are you some sort of troll? I've had ONE headshot fire today in several HOURS of play. ONE!! If you truly saw that many HS's fire, then maybe they are penalizing raid geared rangers with even lower proc rates.
You may get 3 in a minute every now and then, and sometimes 0 per minute, but on average, as it currently is set, you will see around 1 per minuteish on average, and only on a mob considered Humanoid. If you are trying to say you are getting 3 a minute on average... then possibly you have an agenda
Can we have this locked please? I believe class envy nerf requests are not allowed. Can we just pretend that he asked for a patch to come out on Feb 29th and boot him from the forums? Considering the fact that Rangers just got hit with the nerf bat, asking for a second round is going to stir up a lot of people. Dexar.

All done about a month ago and done in missions so a true grind would actually net some higher numbers.
These chars are in RoF T1 accessories with bazaar-bought CoTF crafted gear for visibles/weapons and have ~4k AAs. This is a combined parse of just under 2,000 dark blue con mobs to 100 (notice the 2 billion damage). They are NOT being played to max effectiveness. Just some basic social spam as box DPS - the monk is suffering terribly from this fact. Live characters would certainly get better results. My guess is the OP plays no toon who swarms, hs decaps or assassinates.Your other post got locked you are just trolling and trying to cause a stir for whatever reason. If your going to successfully complain, you shouldn't say how uber an ability your using is, then call for a nerf on yourself. Kinda lame imho
Meh, other players will notice this soon enough and it'll get changed. So it wont matter if you guys think I'm full of it. Also, you still haven't proved that a normal DPS'er is holding 30k dps in group gear. That parse with a monk holding 20k, that's legit, mine does 25k. But that's nearly full raid geared. My monk has 30k more HP than my ranger.

Headshot effectiveness is quite random now, I know because I soloed with it for about 3 hours tonight. Sometimes it goes off 3 times in 15 seconds, sometimes once in 3 minutes. Overall, I think you can do more damage in a group with your bow now, which I don't think is bad at all. Unfortunately our ability to solo for experience is reduced. You can headshot level 97(?) mobs, but the downside is you can't walk in Argath and knock them down like dominoes.
I took my 93 Ranger out last night .. killed 10 mobs ... 3 times headshot went off ... i only pulled 2 at a time. This is a huge nerf. Not one HS off the spell line ... all 3 were with a bow.
