It's lost. Just by using Nobles, you lose 10% from the "tax". Sorry man. :(

Marcia could sell (unless already, you sneaky devils) potions normally found in the marketplace. Possible ornaments as well. The items found so far are priced so high, I doubt players would even be bothered to find her. I couldn't see anything selling for more than the equivalent of 5 million platinum. It doesn't matter how rare an item is or even if it's not obtainable, if it can be upgraded in bazaar at any moment for less than 1% of it's cost, I don't see anyone shelling out the Noble for it. Especially, items that aren't visible.

The part where she randomly appears somewhere with random selection, I personally like. The fact that old items not normally obtained anymore is also great. And no matter what she sells, it's so limited that whatever she sells won't make any impact except making that one rich dude(tte) happy.

    news on this?

Either I'm nuts or this is for rich players only. I've got MAYBE 15K Plat across all of my characters combined. No point in me even thinking of looking for this vendor.

    has anyone tested this?
  5. Ruinedmyownlands Elder

Some that I tested today, I'll assume that the ones it buys will be for sale eventually.
    1 noble for Salindrite Dagger
    2 for a Manastone
    1 for Writ of Dragonkind
    0 for Sceptre of Destruction
    2 for Circlet of shadow
    0 for mask of tinkering

No doubt it's for the rich. But that's only a handful of people on every server. I really can't pick a single item that doesn't drop anymore that I would have any interest whatsoever in other then to simply collect. And now, since a vendor sells these collectables, it kind of ruins the fun of collecting at all. I say this is a flop. If they wanted to suck plat out of the game they might upgrade the old casino's loots, or add new tickets that aren't available with loyalty, forcing us to buy tokens and play. Ill drop 100k in a casino for at least hope way before I'll chase a mob around with hopes that she's got an item and already taking a 100k hit. Get outta here...

While we're on the subject of vendors. How about putting in a vendor that some of us non-plat whoring types can use, like a Legends of Norrath vendor, prehaps in the LoN Client. Since the inception of the 5 free boosters a month, i've gotten loot cards i deemed unworthy for redem. As a Ranger i have no use for hand to hand, 1hblut or 2hand ornaments. Since i know SoE does nothing 1:1 ratio, why not present to the H.M.F.I.C. the idea of a 10:1 unredeemed loot card (No matter if its all access booster or marketplace bought), the end trade is non-refundable No TRADE. so it can't be re-sold or traded.

Maybe add also items perma farmed by money seekers and used in some really wanted quests?
Like epic 1.0 items for example, those dropped by huge mobs perma farmed and spawning only once a week. Just to have those players not give up and pass to 1.5 pre-quest.

I would like to give some constructive criticism about how this works

First I think limiting the number of items she sells per day is going to upset a lot of people as we have people playing in time zones all over the world on each server. It would be crazy to think someone is going to get up at 3am to log in and run over to check what she has every day( if you happen to be in the wrong time zone). I am well aware its OUR choice but if she resets at a certain time every day I could see this leading to some issue.

Second I think if you really want to see some movement on these items and Nobles
I would suggest having say 3 to 5 items on her at any one time. Then have one rotate out, and one in daily. As much as I would like to be able to play all the time; my life has gone through some changes since I started playing during Velious and I am just not able to log in every day. I am sure there are others who can appreciate where I am coming from on this point. By doing this you would give a lot more people a chance to see a few items with out creating an unhealthy urgency to logging on EVERY DAY in hopes that we don't miss the ONE item we are missing from our Trip down memory lane

Third I think all items should be no drop (this may be the case all ready I have no idea)

Last I think the prices are a bit out of line for some and in doing so is going to exclude a lot of players

    Cheers

Basically SoE is selling no longer dropping in game items for $100+ with a minor side quest of waiting for the desired item to appear.

Almost all of EQ players are priced out of the market so it will only be a few with large amounts of cash on hand, two are three per server at most competing for items.

The only real legitimate method to quickly join this party is to buy 10 -20 krono and then sale them for plat in order to have enough to purchase the desired item aka handing SoE $100+.

The upside for some of those locked out of the market is that krono prices should drop as new supply enters the market.

To this end who really cares? Taking out significant amounts of plat from 2 or 3 people per server is one thing.
Taking out a fair amount from potentially everyone is where the real taking-plat-out-of-the-game happens, especially if it's long term.

how long will this npc be in game?

and fyi she sells one item per day buy you can buy as many of that item as you want all day
  13. Siddar Augur

I think the issue is the selling of what were one of a kind and ultra rare items for $. If BFG pop on this merchant tomorrow then the result will be dozens of people whipping out there credit cards and buying hundreds of dollars worth of krono to sale for plat in order to buy one.

The question as players we have to answer is do we want to play a game that offers that unique of a reward based upon willingness of person to spend real life cash to acquire it. that a personal question for every player to answer on there own. For me im opposed to any item cost more then $25 to acquire other set that bar at zero and others still are willing to spend hundreds for a item. That personal choice how ever does effect other players who will never acquire the item with real life $ are ever raise enough cash in game to acquire it with in game currency.

No. Once it is bought, it is gone
  15. Kravitz Augur

If she has a list of 30 items, and only puts up 1 item per day, the chance of getting the same item if someone buys it is probably once every 40-50 days assuming the demand is 100 people looking for that item so you are competing to get there before them at midnight PST time also.

Which is the reason why this needs to be unlimited supply, or NO TRADE. Or else people will just buy the extremely high demand item and resell it for much more. Its worse than the epic 1.0 drop farmers, at least you have a shot at getting those more frequently than this.

Making it unlimited supply is the better choice for SOE since people might want more than one for their legitimate alts, and would fuel Krono sales even more. Also if they do decide to make it unlimited supply, upping the price even more seems like a good thing as well, to keep the tradition of these being "artifacts" in a way, so it doesn't trickle into the servers that often.

I (personally) don't see the allure to spend 3m+ for an item of limited functionality. These were OP'd for their time, not so much anymore. The value came in that they no longer dropped.

In this case, the non-utilitarian pieces have a small(er) targeted market. Some people have just always wanted a particular item, some collect(ed) artifacts, and most just don't care.

The price... If the intent is to remove plat from the game, items like the Locket of Escape should have a lower cost to entice the USE of it, therefore removing the plat and item from the game.

For all of the other artifacts, the price should be silly high, as to not impose on player prices and limit the number of items entering the game.

Looking at the troll cloak, there was an offer for 40 kronos for one. If you can buy it for 17m pp, that sets the cap on the price. This is something which needs to be avoided.

There are few items which have endless utility and/or a wide spread desire for ownership. These are the target items for plat removal. Something like a 4ac 7mr ring (I forget the actual stats) is an extremely limited target audience. I can't think of anyone, outside of an extreme collector, who was ever interested in those items. They needn't be on Marcia's list at all... it only hurts the collectors.

There are very few items (fewer than 5) that meet the criteria of having utility still, unlimited use, and being an artifact. Of those, two can be obtained with limited charges. Those items have the largest target demographic. One step to the side are items with unique graphics (various shields, BFG, etc), below these are limited use items (locket of escape), below those are the 1-off/heritage items (black dragon eye blade, earthshaker, etc...), below that are around 200+ items that only collectors care about.

The only price I've contended was the locket, though that is based on functionality/use of the item, not its status of a collectable.... Thus my disagreement can be easily dismissed.

The intent needs to be made clear. The prices... They need to be higher than FV market value, but the actual items available should pander to the largest market available.

I won't spend 10mpp on the katana of steel sleet, but I might on the Aegis of the Valiant.

No one person can say, for certain, what items are or are not in demand, but one can speculate which items draw the most interest.

We're planning on having an alternate method of receiving the rewards from this quest via SoD content so that anyone who missed out has a chance at the rewards as well.

Referring to these augs which especially the 15ac 70hp req50 aug maintains value. 1 week short of the 6th anniversary of that quote and they have yet to reappear in any form. You can use up to 17 and until Level 65 most of the superior augs are also from limited time events.

The question becomes if you want to morph Marcia and have her sell some items permanently in unlimited quantities, figure out a price of those augs and if someone wants to aug up a twink they know they always have the option of spending millions of plat on Marcia.

    http://eq.magelo.com/profile/13186

If Tecknoe is still Level 52 they might buy one each time an aug appeared on Drinal or Xegony, whichever server they are on and a presumably small number of other characters would do the same but a much better plat sink would be for people to be able spend millions of plat on each new alt and they would gradually accumulate on FV and need to undercut Marcia once they out-leveled the augs.

Being most likely the person with the most Stone of Chaos (around 50) I can assure you that it doesn't bother me at all if you sell them at any price and/or make them available by any method.

Already answered, credit card to buy a number of those illusions. If Firestorm Cape and other illusions on Marcia get people to quit it's really strange that they managed to keep playing all this time while most new illusions that entered the game came from people spending real life cash.

Other than Earring of Living Slime, illusion items are the most relevant items to max level characters of all the known items on Marcia.

Has anyone checked if Marcia will buy Gumdrop Button?

This is not the casino 2.0 we have been asking for. As many have said, this is for less than 1% of the EQ Population. You devs always say how little bandwidth you have for content, yet all the hours dumped into NPC placement, ETC was only for less than 1% of the EQ population?

The collectability of an item is not something I value, so to me the prices posted so far seem high. I thought I was fairly well off until seeing these massive numbers being tossed about....back to the middle class with you, you jumped up serf! I'm sure the devs erred on the side of caution since it would be better that a few overpaid then bring too many of these rares into the game.

It's not a bad idea to make then no-trade, both to distinguish them from originals and also to discourage resellers trying to corner the market on something. At current prices the resale market is going to be very limited, but if prices come down and better items are available, I would hate to see a few super rich toons routinely buying out the inventory in their quest to get super-stinking rich. Might be best to make the items heirloom instead.

To tempt me to buy something I would rather have something useful and at a more achievable price. I would bet that more plat would leave the game if things like the rare attunables from CotF were for sale for a couple million.
