I concur with ObsidianChill here. Whilst I am not going to tell anyone how to play HL but LW just mucks mobs about. I ran Wayward Souls with another HL LW user and it was just irritating having my Ram-WT or C-HC sequences end up being wasted on a single enemy because the LW user kept chucking mobs everywhere.

Maybe it does have a big DPS portion but its really disruptive if not used correctly,

I realize we haven't encountered each other before on forums since i'm from PC and you're from ps3, but i'm no noob, I understand what you're going for. Correct me if i'm wrong but holding the melee button while in the chainsaw combo raises it, but the raise doesn't do dmg? So why would you clip after that?
  4. SmokingGuns New Player

Omaar thanks for the nickname but don't forget that I clip the WT with WD befor using the LW.
WD become masked from sight, so everyone complaining about HL using it won't know your acctually using!!!

I tried it out a little today, the Chainsaw rotation uses more power then the normal C>HC and the 2nd chainsaw splits worse then HC would. I realize that it may be the 50% modifier your going for to make ram buffed but we can accomplish the same effect with WD currently. Also spec'ing 3 more pp into Chainsaw really doesn't give me a large enough benefit in the end to not spec into LB.

until they are knocked into a boss attack or the tank wonders why npc's are being knocked all over the place.
  7. SmokingGuns New Player

actually the ncp dont get knocked back, knock back is a control effect that your just not going to have the dom for, especially if the nps is already tagged with a previous control effect. But you will play at you own pace I will play at mine.

Oh and ive never actually seen the LW move anyone just from the Spin and an NPC being throw or knocked back if it ever happens is being juggled and doing no damage saving the party.

This was my favorite combo before dervish and even though the throw was a lil weak your basically clipping it anyway and you have to put in consideration that this lengthened your combo and over a period of a raid that there were less pauses between doing dmg by jumping doing this and it really seemed like this gave me an edge over a period of time because if I had less jumps in between doing things it really seemed like it added up at the end for me.

I'd would really like to know what you come up with testing this because dervish basically does the same things except it's a little stronger and faster.

Got a new sheriff in town for combos. Either way you will get what you want but at a risk off being up close. Single target and AOE it does both. C hc snaptrap fan. Recycle and hit triangle to get the weapon attack after fan.
  11. OMAAR New Player

Are you sure about the " splitting " ? I'll discard it if true.
  12. OMAAR New Player

Yes the TTT Tyga's Total Termination. Seems the best 360 degree hitter. C-HC/St-Fan. It uses the phantom triangle. And it is much better when using a rifle.
  13. OMAAR New Player

Btw, grasping hand power can be clipped by anything in case anyone wants to do any testing.

yup, who knows stuff could work entirely different on ps3 fom PC. HL clipping isn't even remotely close to the same level on ps3 as it would be on PC so different combos may not play out the same.
  15. ObsidianChillSucks New Player

Well I took it into the T3 challenges I would run 1 as chainsaw and 1 as Claw. Chainsaw seemed to split from 200-400 on the larger groups but hold claw would still be 600-800. Now if it was just 1 or 2 adds yea Id still get like 1.3k crits out of Chainsaw but aoe didn't seem to hold up. Ill try it out in a Gates or Fos2 and would have the chance to get better results.

Hey, I'm wondering which combo is stronger? Ram-WT-ST-Fan (With a Rifle) Or Ram-WT-C-HC (With a Brawling)?
Or which combo is the strongest to use. Your old guide insisted Ram-WT-ST-Fan is the strongest
  17. OMAAR New Player

Math and power consumption figures will be done this week.
  18. OMAAR New Player

Btw everyone for the online calculator I am taking the norm as 2.1 seconds as that's the average time I can do any two power using combo. Does everyone agree?

It's your guide. When it comes to timing, I'd say it's fair to leave that one on you.

Thanks. Just putting some ideas out there :).

If I can put forward some ideas from a baby HL dps, I've found some combos that I really like when soloing, duoing and in alerts (where there's less power floating around).

When there is more than one mob and no PoT: C-HC-WTx2 (I generally get almost all the power back from the +110s)
When there is one mob and no PoT: C-HC-Ram-ST-Fan (infinite combo)
When I have PoT: C-HC-WT or C-HC-WTx2 (depending on the quality of the controller)
When I need to attack from range with a controller: Ram-ST-Fan
When I need to attack from range without a controller: Ram-ST-Fan-weapon combo (repeat until I'm low on power, then I'll go ST-Fan-weapon combos for the 50%)
When I'm with a weak tank who is having trouble with aggro & a controller: Ram-ST-Fan then Claw-HC-WT or C-HC-WTx2 (depending on the quality of the controller; this gives the tank time to get aggro)

I thought I'd just throw out some useful combos for people who are running with less power. I ran LoS yesterday when there were three dps and a healer, so I just swapped to controller stance to give a little power (in dps gear), and almost topped the damage without any damage modifiers. Rawr!
