I bought the butterfly wings from the marketplace and i love them! My boyfriend bought his weapon styles, bird helm and sparkly galaxy outfit and wears them all thetime. We need more of that and less "random" booster crap boxes

Well I may buy the bundle, but like last time it will be mostly for the radars and replay, I don't expect to be of the few to get an exclusive aura, and if I do i won't try to fool anyone on the broker into paying 20 mil for it, I've always believed Auras should be on the marketplace (any color or style), if you get a drop then you can sell it (but not for 20 mil for crying out loud), but if you buy it at market (or a bundle box), then it should be account bound.

Okay I know this is how you guys make your money but just put the auras in the marketplace for the same price I would buy the aura before I buy the bundle I'm sure others will too

Lol. I love your blatant honesty in this post. Almost as if had you got 4 plasmic auras you would be the first one to sing their praises. It is seriously refreshing to see this kind of honesty. Nice 1.

I bought 3 boxes.

First one, I got a red plasmic. Two more were just red and dark blue.

Honestly, I love the aura. It is pretty cool, honestly its the best looking one.


That aside, they probably shouldn't have made this kind of a deal with an aura.

Its not the pricing of the bundle I have an issue with - it is actually reasonable. The problem I have is it is VERY obvious people are clearly going to be enticed into buying these boxes solely for a shot at an aura.

This kind of a marketing scheme, although it is legal because you are getting items worth the $20 bucks with a bonus box tossed in, is downright malicious and people are honestly buying them solely for a limited edition aura - and it seems as if SOE was actually looking to market these boxes specifically using those limited edition auras.

Customers are paying $20 with the intention of getting an aura - and are very unhappy customers when they fall short. In a sense, SOE is intentionally creating unsatisfied customers with this lottery box. I may have come out on the good end of the lottery, but I do recognize there are probably at least 5 extremely angry customers for every customer like myself.

This is a terrible way to do business.

This is by far the most devious and downright unethical business tactic I have seen SOE do ever. Not only do they advertise this box as a chance to get 1 of the 3 new auras in the title and in the headline of the actual post they advertise the 3 pictures. But in the small print they nonchalantly say we have a chance to get a common aura. I saw the post, read it, thought I understood that I would be getting 1 of the 3 auras + a bunch of worthless items to me (outside of the sc and radars), but when I opened my box I got a pink aura. I went back and re-read the post and realized I made the error of not understanding what the bundle actually was. Now that I do, I feel tricked or duped by a misleading marketing scheme aimed at extorting money through misinterpretation. This is by far a huge ripoff, I do not recommend this bundle to anyone and I demanded a refund of my sc due to false advertising and bad business practices. If this is the direction in which DCUO is heading, then this is one of many signs saying, "end of road" just up ahead. Keep this up SOE and we won't have a game to play in the future. This is coming from a very highly skilled and seasoned player who is extremely disappointed with this purchase and the recent decisions the developers are making.

New auras look cool, and decent bundle. If new aura was assured, I'd throw ya the 20 bucks.

So when do these actually become available? I checked the store and even though it's showing up the Buy button is not available.

Are there really pink auras now? Always wondered why pink black & orange were never in game...but I assume thats more WB/DC Lantern shenanigans. & btw totally agree^^^^...sorry to hear you bought a $20 scratch off.

And what would they have to lose by actually putting 1 of the 3 auras in the box? Nothing. Instead of giving people an new aura for their $20, having them running around all stoked about the coolest vanity item being in their hands....What have they gained...more scorned players. This is really sad to see.

The Booster bundle runs behind the concept of grab bags, paying money for a variety of things or a chance at a variety of things. This has predated the lockbox angle last I checked. Personally I'm glad its here instead of shoving it in lockboxes again.

Those of you hoping to see auras go up in the marketplace, don't hold your breath.

The dirty little secret is once the bean counters see those insane $$$ come in, from people paying $200, or $300 or whatever for this nonsense, it becomes the sole focus of the company to lotto off everything they can. All the things players want the most, and will spend insane amounts of money on, will be tucked away in chance boxes.

Think I'm crazy? I played STO and CO, for 3 years each, and saw the transition first hand, how the Dev team went from developing actual game content, to developing almost entirely...lock box content. It still is happening to this day.

The companies that subscribe to this business model know full well what they are doing. The odds get stacked, shuffled, increased, decreased in ways which makes Vegas look like an Amish village. You know why? Because Vegas, as a chance based industry, is heavily regulated. Not only are there limits to what casinos can do, but by law, they have to tell you the odds as well. Gaming companies are skirting this regulation, meaning they can put up odds of such ridiculous proportions, that literally you give them money for nothing. Last time someone ran the odds on the Cryptic Lockbox scheme, it was something utter unbelievable like 0.001% chance of getting the big ticket item.

Complete and utter insanity. Which is fueled by us, the players.

This is a sickness, which can only be cured through starvation. If we don't play their little games and buy their lotto boxes, then the sickness can end. But so long as people will shell out crazy amounts of money for nothing more than a CHANCE at an item, this business model will consume this game, as it has other games before.

I refuse to buy into, much less support this system of rampant greed. I refuse to take part in the "a slim chance to get a prize system of conning players. You want to sell me something, put it right into my hand, and I'll put my money in yours. Otherwise, don't waste my time.

Good for you Dev's. You sit back there and count your dollars.
Not a cent will be mine from these Bundles, yet there could have been.
I would have spent my money if you put aside you greed and just lets us get the auras as they are, rather than a game of chance.
I would be keen to buy future auras as they are as well, providing you put your greed aside and let us buy them as they are.
It's a shame really. You could have kept the Bundle for those who want the rest of the gear in the Bundle.
But the rest of us who simply want to enjoy the new auras (the majority), are forced to play a game of chance if they want one.
You won't be getting my $40 worth.
If you were true fans of the game, you would have catered for the majority.

I dunno why common auras were included tbh. I mean Getting purple after spending 20 bucks would be the ultimate insult. On top o that it isnt worth much. Heck, I sold a purple aura yesterday for 50 snowballs! Because i felt asking for $ would be too much lol

was about to buy this new pack when i thought i might check the forums before purchasing...so glad i did, not only are the vault tokens worthless but the chance of getting a blue or purple aura multiple times? no way.

Sad that the community could really send a message by not buying into this blatant rip off, but as we have already had multiple people buying 3-5 boxes and getting nothing the devs can see that angering their player base is a small price to pay to grab $100 off really dedicated players who just want to improve their in game character.

The sad thing is guys, they can see all this, and have probably read it.

Yet nothing has changed.

They could not care less.

A testament to how the common player is valued.

Since Aura's seem to be hard to get, how about they add some kind of buff, like extra defense or damage depending on the color, when they are found.
