Former Cubs All-Star second baseman Glenn

    Beckert dies at 79

During one of the most memorable eras of the franchise, he was a solid member of an infield that included a
pair of Hall of Famers. Glenn Beckert played his part in strong Cubs’ teams of the late 1960s and 1970s and
was a popular member of this legendary group. That’s how the second baseman is being remembered on
Sunday after his death at the age of 79 in Florida.

For those not understanding if you have ever seen "A League of their Own" it was actually based on true events. 1943 saw the end of MLB because of WW2 so they made an all female league....

cool thing here is when she went to the Comets she had 21 wins and a No-no

    Former WWE wrestler Shad Gaspard.

If the reports I've seen are correct, he and a group of swimmers (including his son) were apparently caught in a rip current while at Venice Beach on Sunday. When rescuers came to help he told rescuers to save his son before him. He then was caught in a wave and never surfaced. His body was found early Wednesday morning.

    Joel Schumacher, director.

Despite the infamy he gained with his Batman films and his adaptation of Phantom of the Opera, he was also the director behind Falling Down, St. Elmo's Fire and The Lost Boys among others.

I always felt bad for Joel Schumacher for the hate he got for the Batman films. He thought he was making Batman fun again. Lost Boys and Falling Down are pretty awesome movies.
