The Swarm is a combined arms Planetside 2 outfit with a overwhelming sense of optimism and enthusiasm for Planetside 2 and gaming in general. We believe that working as a cohesive unit, everyone within The Swarm achieves more, together. Our emphasis on strong leadership and the willingness to break from the mold and try new things ensures us that will be able to adapt and thrive in situations in which many other organizations would fall apart. Welcome to The Swarm - Planetside 2 on Playstation 4. We are an outfit that has a pretty simple goal. Have fun and win! Are you tired of unorganized outfits getting pushed around everynight by TR and VS? Are you tired of running around with your squad that blindly charges around thinking this is Call of Duty? Well you have arrived at the solution. We need you to answer The Swarm - Call to Arms! We are looking for any type of player that wants to learn and grow with us. We want players who know how to have fun, be serious and have the desire to win! If you are pretty new to PS2 do not worry. We will help you grow into the player you want to be. All we ask if you read the below so we are all on the same page moving forward. After reading all of this and agreeing we will get you invited to our outfit. Are you ready to kick some TR/VS butt? Crack open a beer(if thats your thing) because this will be a fun ride as long as you put forth the effort. Because we will.

What is The Swarm's vision and goal? Well it is pretty simple. To have fun and do what it takes to win. We accept members that are casual and we accept members that are hardcore. But the goal never changes. Have fun and do what it takes to win.

Lets take Planetside 2 for example. Some of our members play once a week. Other members play every day for hours. When that member who plays a few hours a week signs on there is a chance they might not be Spec Ops material. And that is fine! However the goal still exists of having fun and they should be doing what it takes to win. What does that mean?! Well when there is an alert in PS2 you should play the alert to win for the NC. That means no you shouldn't be driving around in your harasser farming xp/kills because the alert does not give enough xp. That means when someone is capping a base we just took that you are the only one at in your harasser you should alert us and try to take it back. No you should not giggle like a girl and farm kills. Losing territories loses the alert for NC. Alerting the outfit that the territory is now being capped again and trying to get it back wins alerts. So why are you here? Are you here to have fun and win? Or are you here to just farm? We are not a farming outfit. Ok sure once in awhile you may just play by yourself to get xp/certs. But everyday? Every single day you are on another continent away from the largest squad? When an alert pops up you run away from it? During alerts you dont communicate effectively? You dont have to be a great player at all. You should be a player who AGAIN wants to have fun and wants to win. You should be a player who wants to continue to grow and get better. You should be a player who wants to see the NC win alerts. Are you ok with NC constantly being the laughing stock of PS2? I'm not. I want to win! I want to open a beer and laugh. I dont want to see members ignore orders and drive over away from the squad so they can xp farm. We are not a hardcore outfit at all. We just have rules in place to ensure everyone can have fun and help us move in the direction of winning. Or getting close. And losing is fine as long as we put our absolute best effort into it.

Where does IRC come into this? IRC chat is a very important tool moving towards this goal. First it'll unclog outfit chat when we have 30, 40, 50 members online. Also it makes finding a squad quick. You under NO circumstance have to be constantly checking IRC every minute. Never get that assumption in your mind. I dont even know how some members did. Use irc to your advantage. Find a squad, get members invited to squads, see what other continents the outfit is on so we can play on the same continent. You'll even meet new people!

Can't get IRC working? Simple, message one of us and we'll help you. If someone says "IRC wont work, help!" we never turned them away. We work with them to get it setup.

So again, why are you here? Why do you want to join The Swarm - Planetside 2?

Besides everything else you have read about The Swarm you will find more rules/info about Planetside 2 on our website. Of course this includes any additional rules, chain of command, events and such!

How We Roll:

• Serious Business, in moderation: Having fun is a top priority for us in the Swarm, but sometimes we focus on critical objectives in key moments. Knowing when to get serious at the right times means we can have fun more often.

• The Right Way: Nothing is done halfway. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well.

• Failure Is Always An Option: Doing things the Right Way doesn't mean we're guaranteed to succeed. Errors and failures can happen and will happen. Failure is only a learning experience, however. We examine our failures and learn from them.

• IRC: We use IRC for instant communication between our members and to provide an opportunity to socialize when not ingame. Things may happen in IRC that we do not have time to post on in the forums. Most of our importu squads are formed via IRC.

• Everyone Can Be Great: We believe that over time, even the worse of players can become the best of players given practice and training. We don't look down on those who aren't as talented as others.

• Never Stop Posting: Our forums are the lifeblood and soul of the outfit. Any news, announcement, changes or events will be posted there.

What We Expect:

• Go with the flow or make your case for change: Suggestions and improvements are how we make continuous progress.

• Participate: When we have an event, take part in it. The secret to having fun in a game like Planetside 2 is to play the game with other people. We don't have "mandatory" events. We tell our members what we're doing and why it is important or fun and trust them to show up if able.

• Be A Gentleman (Or Lady): There is someone on the other side of that screen.

• Be Chill: Everyone has those bad days. What's important is that it doesn't escalate and everyone sorts things out calmly later.

• Step Up And Lead: Delegation is critical in a game like Planetside 2. We need members who are willing to setup up to the plate and lead our platoons and squads into battle.

• Be Honest: We want to exactly what you're thinking. You can expect we will tell you exactly what we're thinking whether it is uncomfortable or not. Remember, when faced with criticism, Be Chill or there will be problems. Make sure to not mistake honesty for hostility.

• A Commitment to Learn: Not everyone is an ace video game player. However, if you're willing to learn, we will work with you to grow your skills over time.

• Never Stop Posting: If you're not posting on the forums, you're as good as dead to us. (Yes, this is in both sections intentionally.)

• Maturity: We require all members to be 17 years of age or older.

• Communicate: All members must have a working microphone.

Absolutely blown away by the turnout on Genudine for the launch day! The numbers are massive!

Daybreak Games is doing a great job and is dealing with the increased load on their servers, it should take a couple of days for everything to normalize, but we had a great time playing this evening!
