I feel the medic is an extremely useful class for another main reason: Medic is the only class that can self-heal. All other classes are dependent on a medic to give them more health and/or a biolab which takes forever to get you back to full HP. Because of this, I think the Medic has the best sustainability of all other classes. Sure, he/she can't exactly regenerate health like in Call of Duty, but he/she DOES have a higher chance of surviving for longer periods of time because escaping a fight you can't win doesn't mean limping away on one bar of HP like it does with all other classes. This is one of the main reasons I play medic. I came for the chance to help my team with heals and revives, but I stayed for the self-healing.
