Yes, but I don't have any game to exchange it with yet.
It feels like a steam early access game now.

the problem with forcing teamwork is when ppl dont work together. the obvious problem is tank mines. you shouldnt be able to put them under a deployed sunderer. once thats fixed there is no need for this deploy shield band-aid. or mabe even giving Blockade armor the mine guard ability aswell.

again SOE dodging the original problem of being able to place tank mines under a deployed sundy with a quick fix.

first tank mines went off like 5 sec after placed under a sunderer. then changed it so they wouldnt go off under a deployed sunderer but didnt fix the original problem of being able to put tank mines under vehicles. so ppl just shoot the tank mines.

not saying one person should be able to insta pop a sundy. just that SOE never fixed the real problem as they often do

Do you seriously need relevant and big updates to stay interested in this game? Do directives not interest you?

Then perhaps you should move on, because I've been playing for a year and a half and I'm doing just fine wrecking people on the daily.

I know these updates dissuaded me from continuing with the game since it was performance loss, hit reg, and base design issues I have dealt with.

2 years of playing and hoping PS2 would improve in directions I hoped for is enough, so I uninstalled. Now I just browse the forums every once in a while, waiting to be proven wrong in my decision to uninstall by something like them putting Death Racing officially supported into the game as a mission or anything that is more than yet more officially supported designs for spawn camp, zergfest farmville nonsense *shrugs*

This. Some of the last updates were awesome. My favorites:
    • Hossin update
    • continent lock update
    • resource consolidation
Without them i would have lost interest months ago. Also, the server merges brought new life into the game. We finally have fights on all continents.

I haven't played the new update yet as i've been away but PS2 still needs a shed load of work to even bring it to similar levels of another similar game that refuses to die 12 years after it's creation.

    DEVS:

Adding tiers to 'How quickly you can farm', GG, you win.' Is POOR DEVELOPMENT.

Adding depth to the game via new mechanics, i'll even give you some:

    1. CE
    2. ANTs!
    3. Reworking Deployment so you actually have to travel in the game (AKA: the game feels bigger)
    4. Better, more involved capture mechanics.

You've already messed up specialisation via certs and 1 char per empire per server (or at least with a large timer) so thats that uniqueness gone.

Shallow games don't live as long as deep ones.
What keeps people playing is not new helmets or medals its how interesting the game is to play.

Everywhere I turn I cannot believe how much better this games predesesor did everything, from tutorials to battle rank.

I STILL see people try to tackle game problems that wern't problems 12 years ago because there was some simple mechanic at work.

The AMS shield is one. It's now got a boring shield I understand. Great.......

So why didn't you give it a stealth bubble? Same HP, same vulnerability, only now troops actually have to expand and search for it and clever people can hide it better. A clever player can't give it more HP though his or her skill.

In all honesty everyone just needs to relax. Part of what I think makes Planeside interesting is the fact that they are willing to change things to try and see what works better. If you don't like something just wait a month or two and more than likely they'll adjust it so you do like it. I can see how the adjustments would make it harder for solo players though.

This game isn't really designed around solo play. You can do it and some can do it effectively. But you don't get as much out of it as you would with an Outfit. Being in an Outfit helps give you more purpose than showing up for the latest farm and gives you friends who will be there to help back you up.

You can say all you want about how lame some changes are but the fact remains that there isn't a game out there like this. Nothing that gives you the same sense of aww the massive battles that happen. There are some that come close but I promise you won't find anything like it. Believe me, I've tried. So just relax, take a break, or wait. I promise the game will only get better from here. As long as Sony doesn't do anything as disastrous as the BFR that is. >_>

Right no, I think it could go either way.

One, they could keep heading in the right direction. Make ANTS, perfect the resource system, balance out vehicles.

Or, they could f*ck it all up. Make vehicles worthless fodder for infantry, make Sunderer's have an ANT system that needs to be purchases with certs, and generally mess things up.

Which one will happen? I have no idea.

The only reason I'm not playing as much lately is because the PS4 version seems so close that anymore time I spend on PC feels like a huge waste of time since nothing carries over and I will probably never touch the PC client again. I get on somedays and I might just run around in the VR for a few minutes and then wind up not even playing. The recent Nanite update was great and immediately turned the game in the right direction, this has always been what the goal of a game this size has to be. The vehicles needed to be extremely accessible and now they are,but the PC version has always been a testing ground for me I figured out exactly what I will spend my certs on and exactly which cosmetics I will like best when the PS4 game is live.

I started played a few weeks ago and put about $20 into the game on my NC character but haven't seen NC win a single continent and am having a very hard time getting kills or points at all. I don't know if it's the recent update but after last weekend I've lost a lot of interest in this game.

Have been playing since beta spent untold amount of money on PS2. Because of as best as I can describe in a short sentence the total nerfing of ever aspect of the weapons especially heavy equipment tanks ect I deleted the game some months ago. In doing so left about 40 to 50 dollars. I'm sad to see the game go so side ways I enjoyed playing makes me wander what the SOE people are thinking it's obvious a large number of players have left why else are so many servers being closed. If only the new players could know how different and fun the game was just 6 months to a year ago.
  12. Midnightmare

I agree on nerfing is a bad thing. should make counters not nerfs.

And personally i think the idea of shooting a rocket launcher at point blank range should hurt yourself.....A LOT.....games been doing that since quake you know.....and im pretty sure thats what reality does as well.

If you want a skill based game for obivious reasons you can give away an unfair 5% bonus.......that goes pretty much all around.
What the need then is push stuff like the flame trowers since its a new weapon.

Poor Hit-registration......well kinda true but...its the best the current tech can offer. Any PS1 player will say the same.

Personally i dont think i ever experinced shooting through people of any kind......When i feel the problems with hit regristration is getting shot around corners......but that could be related to catch up technology.

And regards to rockets maybe SoE would like people to start aiming.

And all the lockons are kinda buggy and probably should be again SKILL BASED...

All the NC got is a working TANK a slightly superior MAX....a HA main weapon that makes even MAX units cover in fear...Phonix guides missles that can break any sunder lockl.

To me it really sound like you should take SOE¨s advice and try all factions and play with the one you acturlly like.....
  13. Midnightmare

That being said i am losing interest but thats been a problem since the game left beta....

Game just toke a direction right from the start i never approved off.
And seeing as the roadmap is set in stone...

nothing will really change its just fumbling in the dark. Hoping that we might hit a light switch.

I think just like the game the DEVs are lacking a goal with planetside.
  14. TheScavenger101

I know most of Forumside don't agree, but all I can say as a response to the title is "Yes". Loosing interest and fast. Game has come down to AV grenade spam, MAXes and Tanks. I know I should adapt and whatever but my Orion is growin spiderwebs on it. Infantryside has died, and I mean infantryside as in infantry shooting infantry with something else then OHK's.

I didn't used to be like this though, at one point it was actually combined arms as I liked it to be, shoot a few dudes, tank show up put a rocket in him, trying to flank the MAX etc. But not anymore. You can all say I'm wrong as much as you want but that will not change my current experience of the game which is pretty much just doorway peek-a-boo rocket/grenade spam.

I think this game is between alpha and beta stage. And we are play testing this for the PS4 release.
Even the core features are not ready and they keep changing them.
    That is alpha stuff.
Plus the hundreds of bugs and unfinished other features.
  16. ZBrannigan

i'm getting bored, still hope spawn in to see something like these(not dirty NC obv, shiny VS) forming in a WG

"Is any one else Losing intrest in the game with the worthless updates"

Yes, but not because of the updates themselves, but because of how much the updates (and server merges - hint hint Eu servers) break the game, making it literally unplayable these days. And the constant interruptions during European prime time twice daily lately...
  18. Ownasaurusrex

Pretty soon it'll only be you and circle jerking friends that have adapted their psyche to enjoy a pointless game

I notice myself taking more (and longer) breaks from the game. Personally I feel that instead of giving us new things to do in the game, we're just being given more and more ways to do the same thing that we've been doing for the past 2 years...

This, along with numerous design decisions and the constant cycle of nerfing/buffing/revamping things have taken a toll on my hopes for the game. The customer trust is gone, which is why I haven't supported the game financially since January. Unfortunately I don't have the answers to this situation, but then again, it's not my place or profession to have them. That burden, however stressful it may be, lies on the developers.

I still hope to see light at the end of the tunnel for Planetside 2, but I find myself caring less if that doesn't happen.

This game is the best game EVER. Still love it, always loved it, and will always love it until Planetside 3 comes out! Sure, the devs could work on netcode and ES uniqueness, like making each faction actually feel like juggernauts, CQC beasts, and long-range full-auto hawk eyes. Even in its current state, this game has a better love story than PS1;)
