To the OP. I really enjoy using the SAW as well. I use the compensator, advanced forward grip, and the 1x reflex. While I have used HVA I tend now to steer clear of it. 99% of the time I use the 1x simply for the fact I do not care for the tunnel vision with longer ranged scopes, always ADS (very, very few exceptions), and in the event I must engage close targets. The SAW greatly rewards superior AIM, trigger control, and positioning. Skunkworks

The Gauss SAW is like beer. You first try it and think yuk! But everyone uses it so you keep going with it as it seems to be the done thing. Before long you love it and simple don't want to put it down. Would happily trade in the Orion for it. Gauss SAW... with the heat mechanic... and infinite mags/cells... excuse me, I need to go to the bathroom.
SAW is the only starter weapon that follows faction traits. CARV doesn't count because the VS (TR) Orion exists. Now, if they'd increase velocity to 1,000 and make it look electromagnetic... *Shivers*
