VIP event: Each faction is assigned a player to defend, as many friendlies as possible have to try to defend him, the objective being to form a ground convoy and lead the VIP safely into another faction's warpgate without having him killed. The winner gets a poptart.
They had something like that in PS1 - Rabbit Ball. It was a blast when it happened. Though only one person had the ball at a time, so we had 3 empires active in one spot. After a X amount of time went by, the ball reset/teleported to another spot and there was a mad scramble to get it again. The objective was the hold the ball for an hour total I think and the winner got enemy technology for a day. (Prolly won't happen here since silhouette of an enemy vehicle is so important atm). Though poptarts are an excellent reward.
OMG! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this idea. Definitely want to do this for a future episode. It is similar to the rabbit event, but this is more of an escort like the LLUs in the original PlanetSide. The rabbit event was more holding onto the ball for as long as you could to get to the max points.
for the VIP event, i believe you should have around 50-100 VIPs for each faction and the faction who gets the most VIPs transported safely in an hour or 2 wins... each faction would have to balance Assault and Defense
This will be great fun, and mobile the battle will be on the move. Big thanks to all TR on euro 2 that helped hold the Crown for an hour last night with no connecting territories.(DJ's Air Drop Core) What a battle I love this game ....
We had an awesome battle with a "certain" TR outfit today at the stronghold. With that in mind, I think a "Battle of the Outfits" type of thing would be cool. Basically, you'd pick a location that both factions can easily fight over, and each outfit brings their army there to fight. You could link the streams of each outfit, so players could watch it from all sides, and the aerial cam could also film the battle. Passer-by's could join in the fight and the winner would be settled over whoever took the base. Seems like a cool way to show off the game and slowly introduce Matt's Esport ideas. This helps the community grow and outfits gain new recruits. Regular old players would be more interested in joining outfits after watching.
Planetside lemmings, let loose a bunch of people through an gauntlet of death and whoever gets to the end or gets closest to the end wins. Come to think about it... The Running Man.
LA Parkour, We pick a base, and we race on foot to see who can get through all the points fastest. Not as Explodey as flash races, but probably more fun for the runners.
I'd be honored to drive Higby Into the VS Warp Gate, so he can brag to T-Ray about how much the NC kick ***. Maybe we have something like Higby and T-Ray both get into Mega Dev MAXs with 50x normal HP and Crazy Glow maybe a 2x sized model and like Liberator guns on their MAX or something but can't get into vehicles, they both start at their warp gate and have to run on foot, first one to kill the other guy or get to the enemy warp gate win. EDIT Better yet, 1 Starts at Cross Roads, the other starts at the Crown. Kill the king style game.
