Ivtoo have gone from 90+ frames down to 5 fps at it's worst over a not even heavily populated tech plant. I can believe i lost upwards to 85 fps 0.0

    I7 2600k oc'ed to 4.4
    7950 gpu
    8 gigs of ram.

Was running great before the patch. Did the patch change something ? hmmmmmm?
  3. Grosny

I hadn't very good performance before the patch, like 30-40 frames on a warpgate and dropping to 15 in big battles but like 20 in avarage. It was playable, even not very good and kind of pissed me off but playable.
Now my fps drops to about 5-7 Fps in a battle and it is definitely not playable at all any more.
Strange is, that even if i try the lowests settings it has absolutely no influence on my performance, but it was like so also before the patch.

    My pc:
    Phenom X4 655 BE overclocked @4Ghz
    GTX 570
    8gig ram
    Samsung ssd

They are working on a fix.

Some performance hits here and there are to be expected. But a 60%+ FPS hit on most of the playerbase is really stretching it. This is the main reason why most completely shy away from monthly subscriptions: you are never sure how many of those months are actually playable and there is no compensation if that isn't the case.

So, any press release on a fix??
  7. Brandmon

Read through the topic people. It is not that hard.

Like 6 hours ago this post. Still no hotfix. I get 11! FPS at Allatum, it's absolutely unplayable.

I would love a video about how much SOE learned from running PS1, and how alot of that experience was carried over to PS2. At the end it would be cool with a qoute from Smedley: "I love Planetside. I really do"

    Can we have that?

Went from 60 fps warpgate -> >30 fps three-empire fight (with vehicle draw distance at "IN YOUR FACE") and now I see ~ 20fps with any sort of combat. Lots of laggy players too. A lot more killed each other and entire mag lands on enemy or yourself even though they die a ways away from you. Changing graphics from "ultra" to high to low did not change the FPS reading and CPU was always listed as the limiter. Was like this all of last night on Connery.

    CPU: i3770k
    GPU: GTX 670
    20mb/s down, 5mb/s up interwebs

PS2 is like that slutty girlfriend. She keeps asking for money, making a lot of promises she'll make it up to you, but never really tries, just some lazy hand-job to make you shut up, and even tho she gets more and more annoying she still is trying to be cute, and milk you for more money.
To make it short. Hire less marketing brilliant ideas like server merge to milk money from standing in ques by forcing people to get premium(before taking care of gameplay/gameflow/level design/bugs/CODE, and hire more hard working "goshDarn" coders/programmers/"darn"(this is pathetic for a 18+game) math-oriented minds and less *****(escort) oriented ones.
Be a "man" SOE, not a *****(escort).

Hear hear! I could care less about new camo patterns and a training room if I can't even get a reasonable FPS rate.
  14. Hatamoto

One more patch like this with no performance increases stated in the release notes and this game is uninstalled from this computer for good. Hire more coders SOE. Hire more coders.

    "A patch is imminent"

    What's the hold up?!
  16. CannedBullets

Also, is the Planetside subreddit mainly populated by SOE yes-men? Because they seem to overlook the fact that EVERYBODY has had an FPS drop since GU4.
  17. Lazaruz

It goes like this, see: Gradually lower the performance over a 6-month period, no-one really notices if they lose 0.5fps per week. Then after the 6 months, come out with an "optimization" patch and just raise the fps back to where it was in the first place. Profit! :D
Kinda like stores hiking up their prices right before a sale.

Disclaimer: Not saying that this is being done on PS2. And I hope that the hotfix will resolve the issue as soon as possible, so people can actually enjoy the game they are helping to support.
  18. Naceo

Hmm, odd definition of imminent going on here. Though if I had to guess, the release got held up fixing the inivi libbie and the VR weapons borking.

Yes, but 3000 SC for it. You get a free trial for a weapon that looks like all the other else and does nothing different.
  20. Stongtea

    Got this too.
