Chaingun Post-Patch

    Hey guys!

If anybody of you know me, I'm not the kind to whine about this, but, I decided that I didn't want this to last any longer than needed, so I'm posting about it right now.

The chaingun is now way overpowered, huge buff with this new attachment also, makes it a spray killing machine. I already hated it and found it OP before because of it's 100% accuracy, which can lead to near insta-kill at range. But hey, it had been this way for a while, and at least I'm good enough to still kill those peoples. But chaingun theese days... with body shots, they kill faster than headshots, and with headshots... It's insane.

Well that was mostly it, summing it up with: Chaingun OP.

Thank you for reading this post, feel free to flame, insult, cry or make positive feedback.

Did you trial it with a TR character?

Haven't you heard the TR Ministry of Truth say it was nerfed.

How is it OP? Even with the BRRT attachment it is just an inaccurate version of the TRV, GD-7F and Serpent with a small spin up.
With extended mags its just an inaccurate LMG with a spin up.

Where does its OPness come in exactly?

It's not OP, its slightly better than it was, but you are dying to it more often now because more people are actually using it after the patch in order to test the new attachment in real combat, myself included.

I can see the difference in TTK. I'm usually always at the front line as an infiltrator, and despite that hold way above average stats. I die as anybody, and I'm far from being the best player, but I notice it when suddenly anybody can murder me on sight with that gun.

QQ more for your OP weapon.
  8. MostlyClueless

If someone's got their sights on you as an Infiltrator they're already 95% of the way there.

"Usually in the Front Lines as Infiltrator"

    Hahahahaha the Sequel.

Remember those guys whining how Infiltrators ruin PS2 because they stay back? Yeah, no... Stay back. Let the Heavies with their Shields handle the MCG wielder, what are you doing with the weakest Class standing in front of a weapon designed to decimate whole Squads if they go in head first? And let me tell you this; WITHOUT the BRRT it's utter crap. WITH it, it's extremely easy to run dry on ammo and then it's pistol or Death even against 1 opponent. It's too slow, swapping mags I mean. We also lost the Laser. Oh and it's not exactly capable of any aiming, it's iron sights... Sort of.

What it is, is VIABLE. You weren't getting killed by that before, you are now, lots of people are eager to try their 1000Cert toy, it will wear off.

Adapt... Nerfing it because you can't, is what led it to be USELESS BEFORE, like the Striker, the Vulcan, the Marauder, shall I go on? Wait for it...! Waiiiit for itttttt......!!

    "L 2 P"

It's also the only weapon where it's fun to suppress targets by continuous firing, because you know, IT'S A CHAIN GUN - Oh no wait, you guys got the Lasher  So... Yeah...

Let me sum it up :

    - Target enters room, meets Heavy with JackHammer, distance is CQC, target DEAD. Nerf JH? No, target came in the WRONG 'HOOD.

    - Target is Infiltrator, pretending to be the Predator(And who knows what kind of DERPness that Infiltrator was trying to pull off in that position), meets Heavy in CQC~Medium, gets mowed down by MCG. Target DEAD. Nerf MCG? No, target came in the WRONG #*$()@ HOOD.

OMG LOL, get your facts straight, it was never 100% accurate. In fact, it was less accurate than any LMG. Proof.

I won't call it OP. I'd say it became decent at CQC now. It was really mediocre gun in CQC because of spinup time. So it was mostly used for midrange and suppressive fire. As I heard in VR some people are still gonna be true to extended mag and keep its role as bullet hose, rather than weapon for toe to toe brawls. Also for people who say that CARV is better... CARV has way worse hipfire accuracy than MCG.
  13. KnightCole

I seriously dont even like the thing in VR....its horrid.....before it was bad, not its bad....MCG is just bad.

I love how SoE went and changed everything about it that worked and didnt even fix the real issue.

You can criticise as much as you want, but if I take my stats on the character I play (JawarisinNC in case you wondered). My K/Dr is higher than yours despite using an SMG and you a sniper. Your kills per minute equal a grand-total of 0.6 on your most used weapon, and most of them are under that. You never actually used an SMG.
To this you might argue K/D is meaningless. Yeah sure, but then my score per hour is higher than yours also, and I never used boosts.

My stats should tell you now what I'm doing "in the front". (/stats bashing done)

I know a lot of peoples use it simply because it's got that new thing, but it's still a ******** TTK compared to any other weapon in the game.

Read it correctly, "I already hated it and found it OP before because of it's 100% accuracy"

Yeah, no. If a group has their sight on me yes. One person I couldn't care less, they'll most likely make it easier for me to kill, because surprisingly enough, peoples are easier to kill when they see you. At least you know what they'll do. And I'm not really worried about anybody seeing me in a 1v1. I got that minimal confidence in my FPS skills.

I do die from time to time, and I admit I shouldn't always be seen, but let's be honest, you can spot an infiltrator at 50-70+ meters range on high graphics if you're paying minimal attention to it. It's mostly a factor of being harder to see and a pain in the *** to aim correctly at than actual invisibility. As if that wasn't enough, there's this big cloak sound. It's better to make the person waste their mag to scratch your shield than trying to sneak for a mile around not to be seen. I'm talking SMG wise right now, of course.

Used to be OP for good players who could abuse that 100% accuracy. Now it's OP for anybody who can spray in your body.

It's getting nerfed because it was OP. But I never cared much for it either. I win my encounters anyways, and when there is an actual good player on the enemy team that's playing heavy, I'm just avoiding him/her, preferring to kill his medics while they are on their way to the front line.

I simply accepted that in the game anyways, it's been there forever, and is an integral part of the class. Heavies have the shield, infiltrators have the fun. Who'd want to trade for a shield :D
  17. Verenz

I don't think it's OP and personally I would prefer the game if faction unique equipment was made intentionally OP but more specialised.

  18. Nerp

It's not that great. It's only good for spraying, which personally doesn't fit me, however even with that, it's not OP. It just reaches its max fire rate faster because before, it took a few seconds which could easily get you killed. Now it takes only a second or two. If you want to complain about heavy weapons, why don't you complain about the jackhammer? It's still more effective than the mcg considering it's a shotgun.

You're just mad because we get something new and you don't.
  19. DQCraze

Sounds like the TR are going to Dominate everyone again. Watch out!
  20. MostlyClueless

What server do you play on where people are so bad that when they catch out an Infiltrator with an Eridani they still somehow lose?

Oh. Yeah that makes sense I guess, keep at it.
