[Actually serious] Maxes should be deleted from Planetside 2

    Combined arms... the excuse to farm. If PS2 had better map design, we could truly have combined arms, but at all its ever been is all arms against infantry. It's mostly tanks shelling bases, libs dropping daltons, and ESFs being... ESFs. The sad state of "combined arms" in PS2.

    But as far as maxes go, I would not remove AV and AA maxes. In fact I'd slightly buff AA maxes, and bring up the VS and TR AV maxes to NC level. Those have their use. But AI maxes... not one tear would be shed if those were just downright removed. Because if it's not stupidly overpowered (against infantry), then it's useless...

    It's not about the form, it's about the content. The point is, Mustarde can kill MAXes easily. I can kill AI tanks easily. By pulling my own AV tank, if need be. That doesn't change the fact that both affect the game in a negative way.

    People buy Max cosmetics. Is there a metric for how many people quit because of maxes?.

    How many people leave baue of maxes?. You seem to know.

    So we should remove maxes because some players are just that bad that they can't fire a rocket and then lmg hip fire.

    I guess we should remove liberator, c4 la's, tanks, heavies and esfs as well lol.

    What is the game and why does this affect it in a negative way? I draw no distiction between using C4 to deal with a vehicle to pulling a tank/MAX to do the same. Each method is a response to the situation at hand. I essentially treat all infantry classes as different loadouts, and anything that cost resources should be used to be more effective(though sometimes it is wise to use it more sparingly to avoid lacking, well, the proper resources).

    I do this because the game does not really draw a solid line between the classes. I would have loved to see the various classes be viable for all situations but at the same time I do not want that. I kinda like the fact I have to improvise as certain classes to deal with a particular situation.

    For instance, as an infil, I will use vehicle terminals to spawn tanks or possibly air as a way to deal with the lack of AV on infiltrators. I do not see myself as "an infiltrator" and think anyone who lock themselves into one class has no one to blame but themselves if they find themselves in a situation where they fall short. I mean, if you specialise in one class you will, by definition, be specialised for certain scenarios.

    Least that is how I view PS2.

    It's not about being able to counter. It's about even needing to counter. Stop making me explain the obvious. MAXes need to be removed because they ruin the competitive spirit of the game, the universal truth that player skill should decide who wins in combat, and not how much self-regenerating-without-effort nanites have been spent.
    More. Gameplay ruining > cosmetics. I'm not sure how long have you been here, but this game used to have A LOT more players, playing on a lot more servers. Many issues like bad performance have been successfully resolved, yet there's still a steady stream of people leaving. Probably not because they run out of MAX cosmetics to buy.

    And don't try to be cute here. I can too say "how many people buy MAX cosmetics? You seem to know.". Leads the discussion exactly nowhere.

    No string, the leaving breathing proof is sitting right here in this thread, arguing with me, able to do with the tank five times better than even with most played infantry class.

    And this is the reason why Cobalt lost to Emerald in the most recent Server Smash ;) Stay mad Eurotrash, while everyone else enjoys the combined arms.

    You may be useful as a Light Assault if you kill medics, but knowing you. You probably shoot indiscriminately at whatever Blue or Purple thing enters your FOV. Then claim your helping because you have a high KDR.

    Have a look at mxes in game, what do you see?.

    Show me a Metric of how many people quit because of maxes. If anyone's trying o be cute here, its you.

    You don't state the obvious, you rehashrehashrehash the same hyperbolic nonsense based on nothing repeatedly.

    Repeating yourself and offering hypothetical nonsense doesn't mean anything. If people are going to quit because of maxes then they must cry about half the games content.

    I'm sure people cry when their tank gets c4ed, who cares.

    Anyway I'm going to just watch this thread and 'eat popcorn'. I've had my fun lol.

    I'm going to go off topic, not that it really matters I guess, this thread was never going to go anywhere.

    Targeting AV heavies and Engies has a much bigger impact on the overall battle then a few medics.
    Keep long range AV down and armor can push up, with armor up sundies can move closer, with closer sundies infantry can move into the base and take it.

    And they do cry about half the game's content. Here's a brand new thought: if people are complaining, it probably means something is wrong.

    People have been complaining about OP stuff like tank cannons and liberators for an eternity, until they finally got fixed to sensible levels. HA shields and AI MAXes are always a hot topic too, and probably for a reason, no?

    People who cry when their tank gets C4ed are right too. It's not fun for them to have to deal with such mechanic - being instagibbed out of nowhere. Being instagibbed by a tank cannon out of nowhere is unpleasant for the same reason.

    You kill the medics while they're reviving, most are completely tunnel visioned when they are going for a revive, keeping another person out of the fight for the price of one. If you're lucky the medic can actually hinder their own team, by killing anyone they revive you're doubling their wait to spawn for very little effort.

    The projectiles of Fractures, Falcons, and Ravens are rockets by design. The projectiles of Pounders are high explosive grenades (HEG) by name. That's probably what he means.
