Heavy Assault Overpowered.

SOE should remove infiltrators from the game and it would increase the quaility of both Planetside and Forumside.

This is all just bull^^^^, the HA is grossly OP compared to any other class 1v1. And it is supposed to be. You don't put lightweights in the ring with heavyweights... why? because it would be a bad show.

HAs are supposed to be in the front of the fight shooting things and not dying. All other classes outside of MAXes are supposed to be behind the heavies or cloaked or flying around.

    What is the confusion here???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

You are not supposed to win EVER.... EVER... EVER... EVER if you (as any other class) come into a room at the same time as a heavy assault and fight head on. GET OVER IT, go away, stop playing or WHATEVER it is you need to do to HAMMER this concept into your micro-brain.

Any other class has special ways of playing... the HA has one... run in and attack.

    SHUT UP.

While I won't put it with as much rage as some of the others I have to agree with the sentiment, HA's are the frontline fighters the only other infantry that should go head to head with them are other Heavy Assaults and Max Units.

There should be more HAs than the other classes cause they are the basic foot soldiers who draw attention away from the specialists and the support classes.

Considering Infiltrators and LAs both have excellent ways to flank HAs and kill them, I'm not sure why you also think you should have an easier time of straight up killing them head on as well.

as an infiltrator you can keep an entire squad busy by sneak capping around an outpost and you can hijack the badass base turrets to blow up their vehicles, and you have your own scout radar, and you can go invisible, and you can use sniper rifles to 2 shot kill from miles away! nerf nerf nerf!
no not really, but each class has their own specialization, heavy assault is the ground soldier, it is supposed to take more damage and hit harder than the support classes.
if you're having trouble getting killed when sneak attacking a HA from behind use one of the fast firing LMGs with a lazer sight, it tears through enemies instantly in cqc.

A bit of overdramatization here. The classes when it comes to shootouts aren't that much set apart or defined as hard counters to each other. HA's can take extra bullets and have bigger clips. But weapon choice, skill, lag and many other factors make the outcome random. Yes the heavy has slight advantage and is probably going to win more times then the other class but not ever ever ever ever, heavies get killed by other classes all the time.

It's impossible for Heavy Assault to be overpowered... it's the "base" standard by which all other classes are judged. It's the class you're supposed to play most as it's designed to be the all round infantry guy, with other classes just offering specialization in one way or another.

Is it a bit dull that it's so good/versatile at this role? Maybe. Do you wish your guns (SMG/Sniper/Carbine/AR/BR) could scale in damage the same way that armour and resistance shields can scale? Probably. Is the overshield a bit cheap? Definitely ;) Play as a Max more! :)
  8. Curse_Gamerkin

Thats cool, so the heavy shield offers no protection, and does not allow you to shoot? cuz that would be even since they both make you pretty obvious. And the shield is worth alot more than 2-3 hits upgraded, i have adrenaline shield maxed and i never lose my shield unless its 2v1 which i walk away from then medkit up if needed.

The point of class balance is to make classes all equally viable or at least necessary.

Planetside 2 is like Animal Farm: All classes are equal, but some are more equal than others. And HA is the most "equal" of them all.

    1. It's the only class that can deal with enemy vehicles. This on its own is a HUGE bonus because even after the resource nerf this is still Vehicleside 2. Every other class can only shake a virtual fist at enemy tanks, Harassers, ESFs, Gunships, etc. spamming their ******** everywhere.
    2. Despite this obvious advantage, they're excellent against enemy infantry as well. LMGs were always great anti-infantry weapons and the GU10 "rebalance" didn't change that, if anything, it made them even better.
    3. On top of all that, they get the shield, which if you do it right can be just ridiculous. Nanoweave + Resist Shield = 2000HP. Two times more than any other class.
    4. LMGs have high ammo capacity by default, and because HAs come prepackaged with a rocket launcher, they have no business taking the C4 and can just pick Restoration/Health Kits instead. As a result, they're largely independent from Engineers and Combat Medics, more so than any other class.

Sorry, but going by pure performance, I fail to see why would you play any other class.
  10. Buphalo

If you sneak up behind a HA, get him into the red, and then he kills you... Sorry thats a learn to play issue not a HA issue.

If both players are the same skill level the only way the HA should lose is if the other player randomly sprays an above average amount of head shots. SOE has designed it that way, its not over dramatization, skill is a factor, but so is the way the game has been laid out.

This. Most of the time I just avoid fighting any HA point blank regardless. You know what they do, you know the shield is OP, you know you are at a disadvantage... why even try to fight them. Just wait till you know that they won't see you and spray/knife combo them = dead HA 100% of the time.

Running in and shooting at the heavy from the front is 100% your choice and 100% a dumb idea.

If you know a heavy is Adrenaline Shield Shotgun Rampaging around your little base... don't try to be slick and hunt him down by yourself... get a buddy and then go. You don't run after a MAX with your carbine... don't do it with HAs either, simple.
  12. rickampf

Infiltrators with smgs can murder any heavy assault if they play as they need to play... making ambushes and good use of their cloaks.
  13. WookLordz

Of course not. It's by far the most played class. It's the comfort food of this game. Doesn't require much thought or imagination. They are quite versatile with all their point and click weaponry.
  14. Halvorana

This just all goes back to kids wanting to be able to stand head to head with an HA in a firefight when they are not an HA themselves. That's all these rants are about.
  15. Kon

HA isnt over powered its just COMPLETE all the other classes need revamping to be as useful as HA because HA requires no changes to make it more useful

    QFT.

HA isn't changing. If you don't like it, you can leave though. I hope you don't as I'll have less targets to shoot, but that option is always there.
  17. Kazune

Heavy Assault is the most played for a reason: It is the standard infantry unit for PS2.
Every other class is specialized for different tasks.
  18. Buphalo

  19. TrainerS2

So HA its good then :p
  20. ShumaKun

HA is OP, but they will not get nerfed because there are too many HA users
