Player armor should be restricted. Tanks should be wearing plate, casters wearing cloth and the visuals should give that appeal.

    I don't like transmog.
If someone has the best weapon I want to be able to know they have it.

i voted for as much as possible... this game is all about options... there are no set class... u might be a wizard to start with but change to a warrior at a moments notice if u have unlocked that class... so my toon needs to be able to change armor styles at a moments notice too.. this game isnt EQ1... not by a long shot.. but looks interesting so far

I just want one of those chain mail bikini's they were talking about. No joke.

I like GW2's transmutation system, being able to mix the appearance/stats/bonuses of the same kind of armor.

And of course the ability to dye every (or most) part of an armor piece! :)

I believe the look of armor, it's shape, components and visible textures shouldn't be able to be changed. Mainly because those unique looks help identify not only the piece itself, but where a player has been, or the status required to obtain the item (If it's bought, how expensive, what level crafted needed to make it.)...This kind of "finger print" on items is as important as the shape of a car in the real world, it's a defining mark that lets other people know what you're driving.

However, I believe color schemes and tint should be able to be changed. Mostly to allow for multiple pieces from different suits to blend together, so characters don't look ridiculous as they begin to upgrade or change gear. If the textures/visuals of the suit remain the same, it still allows for the other players to sight ID the pieces, but changing the color allows for someone not to stick out because they look like some medieval clown.

So, I vote for color matching--but not being able to affect actual textures. How someone looks is more than just a fashion statement--it's a little piece of the world's story, and how that character has interacted with it.

While I do like the idea of customability of armor looks. I think there needs to be pro's and con's to armor sets. For instance a more 'revealing' armor should not have the ability to protect the same as plate armor can. Now in the past there has been functionality in switching between armor sets, which i think would be perfect here. imagine this....

    1) I've just gotten up (logged in) and am wearing my relaxed armor...a pair of leather breeches and an open cloth tunic vest. I'm not worried in town where I am, so i keep it on for socializing. Perhaps with gold buttons too to show my wealth.
    2) I'm going toward the smithy...an area that is hot. My normal clothing is ok, but swapping the vest for a heavy flame resistant apron is a good idea, as well as some heavy gloves to keep me focused on my task. (a boost to that craft perhaps)
    3) afterwards...I wish to panic the crowd so I pull out the proverbial chainmail bikini. Not good for battle, but good for a laugh! However i've made it somewhat magical....just in case!
4)going out of town I put on my heavy plate armor. For serious fighting, the colors and designs custom perhaps. But not something that an orc will die of laughing.

Situational armor is not a bad thing, as long as it can be quickly swapped out (some kind of outfit tool plz) Thus allowing for a variety of looks depending on your mood/situation Also, perhaps some more "ELITE" armors should have a set design, unable to be altered without harming the stats?

I think players should be allowed to adjust colors from an approved palate, and adjust armor size relative to body size. Day Glo orange armor that towers 20 feet above a player's shoulder....no.

I thinks its cool to know that someone has a great weapon, and transmog can take that away.

The higher level your toon is, the better looking the armor should be - it should be obvious to everyone that you are a badazz because you've been to hell and back and have done some awesome quests/raids.

I chose as much as possible. One complaint heard over the years is how everyone looks like everyone else. I understand the argument for knowing what another is wearing, but there is something to be said about discovering information about another instead of them being a walking billboard. Many people also complain about being mix-matched when gathering sets. By allowing complete customization it will encourage more interaction, a bit of mystery, and a certain amount of individuality.

I voted for as much as possible, but this have limit. Plate should look like plate and leather should look like leather. But inside the still players should be able to alter the colors and decorations.

I fine option would be to remove parts of the armor, for example only have one shoulderpad visible. Oh star trek online comes to my mind when it comes to customization! ;) But wearing plate armor should still be visible and not disguised by a t-shirt or walking around in bikini. Then again plate armor can be full plate or just a round plate on your body...

I believe there should be many options on how you want to wear your armor. It shouldn't be restricted to class either (ie. Warrior gets Plate only) I believe we should be able to mix and match armor for appearances. It doesn't have to have stats generally. But would really be nice if we can truly make our characters how WE want them to be.

Perhaps armor could have a mostly definitive appearance but certain trimmings could be largely adjusted. For example; if i have some shoulderpads with flared accents, if you could adjust the flared accents size, direction of curve etc; those shoulderpads would still be identified as dropped from X mob but with my own twist.

Imagine armor is like a car and you can customise the bodykit, everyone who looks could identify the car type but they might think wow wonder what type of grill that is, or, damn i like that spoiler

I kinda liked in the beginning of EQ where you had lots of different unmatching armor pieces. So I might have bronze boots, with a skull shaped barbute, hero bracers, crafted leggings, and a rubicite breastplate. Maybe limit it early on and use it as content to release at a later time like originally they did with legacy of ykesha

Very customizeable, but for the love for all that is good and holy, no more car hood shoulderpads! Realistic armor proportions, please!

Definitely need to have the ability to change it some. Get tired of seeing the same armor on everyone..

I picked 2. I hope that you can at least identify classes through armor because you can be a mix of different classes in this game.
