    Heh! :D

I've only heard of dampf nuddeln when the contestants on the Great British Bake-Off show tried to make them as part of the Technical Challenge...can't recall if anyone really did it right, it's tricky! :D

    Uwk
looking forward to trying some for the first time! :)

yea it is but they are really yummy
you make some yeast dough , make balls out of the dough and set them into a pot with melted butter , cover the pot and steam cook till the balls have turned into halve domes and the bottom is golden brown
Take them out of the pot cover with vanilla sauce .
there are recipes on the internet.
Rohr nuddles are basically the same but this time you take the dough and putt the balls into a deep backing dish and back them in a oven you can put any fruit inside like cherries or plumbs.

Ok my patience is at an end , pulls out a duck boat whistle from 5 years ago ( makes a quaking sound )
and makes a lot of noise.

Hello ROAD TRIPPERS!!! We switched things up a bit while everybody was sleeping. Here is the schedule and its looking great!!!

    Monday: Cathedral in Covington, Kentucky
Hofbrau Haus in New Port, Kentucky (real imported soft bezels and beer)
*avoids the paddlewheel boat with the Hooters on board*

Then we are off the Schmet's house for a backyard poolside brunch!!!! She has lots of delicacies in store for us, I cannot wait, so do not stuff yourselves at the Hofbrau Haus, nibble there and buy a lot for take out. Thank you so much Schmet for inviting all of us to your home!!

After a lovely brunch at Schmet's house, we will be going to Cincinnati, Ohio, to go on the duck boat. After the duck boat, we will be visiting Finely Market for Queen City sausages and German bread. Looks like today is a day of eating. Tonight, we are booked into a Virtual 5 star Resort and Spa in Cincinnati and can spend a long evening relaxing and visiting.

Tuesday, we are off to Kings Island in Mason, Ohio, YAY for amusements and mid afternoon, we will port to Cumberland, Ohio for our visit to The Wilds, a wild animal safari park!! We will go ahead and port up to Sandusky, Ohio after The Wilds, another Virtual 5 Star Resort where we can rest up a bit for Wednesday.

Wednesday we roll into Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, its an all day affair, I am opting for a port there as I cannot handle driving the road there. If others wish to make the drive, one of the buses can make the drive. Lots of roller coasters, tons of interesting shops like leather workers and such, its a wonderful place to spend a day.

Ohhh now lets get out there ROAD TRIPPERS, Schmet has been waiting for hours!!

could not have let basically running by my house and not invite you in.
How do you like my little forest and my creek?
this is where my cat catches all those little animals and lets them loos in our house.
Ah and here is some of my home made berry wine , I recommend the thorn berry wine and the elder berry wine.
    Here you go ttobey .
The cooks did a great job making those dishes I told them to make.
And it was a great idea to let the whole neighborhood join in and have a block party .
good thing it's not raining like yesterday so we can see Cincinnati down below.

my mother always said you can always plan a good trip , but if a good surprise shows up everything changes.

I wished I knew how to link pictures to show those people not on the trip how beautiful that church is .

    and yes I got ADHD.

and the good news about this whole trip is a little later we can just say
" Lets do the time warp again. "

    Good Morning ROAD TRIPPERS!!!

Thank you so much Schmet!! Your home is lovely and it was such a nice surprise and a treat to be sure. And the food was yummy!! Even though I am from Dublin, I have never been to Germany and I have never had German food other than the soft pretzels and I do prefer them baked over steamed. The first time my grandparents immigrated to the US, they lived amongst the Amish and they learned to speak Pennsylvania Dutch, imagine that with an Irish accent, my grandma learned to make Dutch soft pretzels from them, baked, not steamed!!! I learned to make them from her.

Today, we are in Mason, Ohio at Kings Island!!! YAY another amusement park!!! I love all the wilderness adventures we have been having but I do love me a good amusement park. Although in Ireland and in England for that matter, amusements are similar to casinos, they are games for money, not places with rides and such. This afternoon about 3 pm we will port to Cumberland, Ohio for our visit to The Wilds, wild animal safari park, the tour there takes 2 hours. That will have us done and ready to port to Sandusky, Ohio at 5 pm and check in to our Virtual 5 Star Resort where we can have a nice dinner at 6 pm and spend the rest of the evening just relaxing and resting up for tomorrow.

Wednesday, Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio!!!!! Park opens at 7 am, we have early arrival passes. I am planning to port at 7 am sharp. We can have a bus port at 7 am for those that wish to take advantage of the early arrival passes and return and have a port at 8 am for those not wanting to go that early. For those that don't mind the drive on that awful road across the middle of Lake Erie, one of the buses can leave at 7 am and drive that road, arriving at 8 am. The park closes at 10 pm, we are booked into the same resort!! We can have the buses do ports back to the resort any time you like, but I would suggest getting at least 6 people together wanting to go back at the same time. For those wanting to drive that awful road, that bus will be departing no later than 8 pm. Personally, I will be taking the final port back at 10 pm!!!!

Thursday we are off to Erie, Pennsylvania. In the morning, we are visiting Waldameer & Water World and in the afternoon we are visiting Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park and Resort, which has a Virtual 5 Star Hotel so we are staying the night!!!! YAY for more water parks!!!! Friday we are off to Hershey, Pennsylvania and you guessed it Hershey's Chocolate World!!!!!!!!!!! YAY for Chocolate!!!!!

Remember ROAD TRIPPERS, "Its just a jump to the left, and then a step to the riiiiiiiight, put your hands on your hips, bring your knees in tight..."

Oops. Gotta store all the stuff I pulled out of the old space pocket... it doesn't like being teleported. Sort of.

"Chocolate ahoy there !", Gero gets out his harpoon. Uhm, sack to store the goodies in.
  7. Breanna Well-Known Member

    YUM Chocolate!!!!!!

I'll probably do mostly walking around and shopping at the amusement park though. I gave up doing roller coasters and ferris wheels a long time ago when my birth mother worked at the Ohio State Fair, and I watched them put rides together and stuff, I swore then never again LOL Yes I am a coward, and proud of it. But Chocolate is good.

o my god have you heard about the string of tornadoes hitting Ohio around Dayton ? 130 injured and 1 dead:eek::(
My husband told me one lady's house got flattened who works with him .
I don't want to joke about this , but had I not stopped you at my house we could have visited the yellow brick road.
  9. Uwkete-of-Crushbone Well-Known Member

I ADORE a good non-grape fruit wine, especially different berry types (though I like a good mead [honey wine] and would love to try dandelion wine)! :D And if you don't want the critters running through your house or left dead as presents, Uwk will be more than happy to take them off your hands as appetizers. :)

Thank goodness for the time warp; with all this eating, we'll need time to work it off! :D

    Uwk
who wonders: what's a "bezel" in relation to edibles? All I know about is the jewelry term... :-/

Never been on a Ferris wheel, don't like roller coasters that aren't at least mostly inside and heavily themed (liked Space Mountain in Disneyland, back in the day). Give me a simulator with a roller coaster film on the screen, and you can do anything you like with it with me inside! 'Cause I know, intellectually, that I'm in a box on a piston and gimbal that isn't going anywhere, and it's safe (my fave of all time has got to be Soarin' Over California in California Land in Disneyland...which is in California. Go fig'.)

My fave rides anywhere, any place, any park, have always been and will always be: carousels. Merry-go-rounds. Round-abouts. Whatever you want to call them, I adore them, and am a huge connoisseur in RL. :D

    Yikes! :-/

But, given our porting capabilities, I'm sure we could cross back over the Deadly Desert surrounding the lands of Oz without much difficulty; just don't let the witches get ahold of our tech!

    Good Morning ROAD TRIPPERS!!!

Here we are finally at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio!!! A full day of rollercoasters, rides, junk food, shopping, and wandering around looking at all this magical place has to see. The park is open until 10 pm which is when the last port out will occur. The last bus driving out will leave at 8 pm. We are staying in the same Virtual 5 Star Resort as we stayed in last night so things should be relatively easy for all of us.

Tomorrow, we are off to Erie, Pennsylvania.

I don't know about the rest of you, but Iam going to need to run around Norrath for days on end to lose the weight from this ROAD TRIP!

I stayed behind in my house a little longer had to clean up.
Tosses all left overs into huge refrigerated container the size of a tool shed . This goes per express to our present resort.
Good thing I had a yearly pass for Kings island and I took one of the fast hover crafts.

and Uwkete Pretzels are a shape of pastry or bread .There are different kinds of Pretzels.
the ones I was mostly talking about here is the bread kind the dough is covered in a special base that gives the bread
the brown color and a distinct flavor. A proper Pretzel is supposed to be soft and fluffy on the inside and crunchy on the outside. and that does not change when it gets cold. Pretzels are not bagels shish don't steam cook them to warm them up.
    shivers .
And you really should give a Ferris wheel a try it's lovely if your not afraid of height's

I like those wild life parks , when I was a kid I would go on organized day trips during winter break
we would go sledding during the day and in the evening we would go and watch the dear and elk getting some extra hay and such to get them through the winter.

looks around , " ok looks good enough " jumps on hover craft and zooooooooooms of.

I think I should have been born as an otter or maybe a water rat ( nutria), those are a little smaller than a beaver, and look like one too. I mean with all those water parks we are going to.
  15. Uwkete-of-Crushbone Well-Known Member

So, a bezel is a variant on a pretzel (which I've heard of ;->)? Got it. :)

And yeah, for a kitty, it's weird to admit, but I am afraid of heights. And going around sharp, fast curves where I'm not in control of the situation (or in a nice, relatively small box [LOVE Star Tours at Disneyland, too!] ;->); you should see me on a one-lane-each-way narrow country road...the locals driving behind me there hate me ("Doing the SPEED LIMIT, are we? Noob!"). At least Ferris wheels are slow. :-/

    Uwk
who loves leftovers, such as cold pizza, etc. :D
  16. Schmetterling Well-Known Member

Uwkete yea in German a brezel is spelled Bretze but the way you spell the item the spell checker would not let me spell it
    like that .
And I looked up the proper word for what is applied to the raw bretzel , it's a chemical called a lye.

what's also nice about Ferris wheels is , they got those enclosed cars you can for sure not fall out of ,the one in Wien
Austria is giant and old and it's still there the cars are the size of railroad cars, you get the idea how huge it is .
if you looked down at Cincinnati you could have seen the one they put up down there , you can see it even better at night when it's lit up.

    Good Morning ROAD TRIPPERS!!!!

Wow!!! That was a long, exhausting, but over the top fun day at Cedar Point!!!! I think I ate just as much there as I did at Schmet's House and Mackinac Island. Hopefully all the walking around looking in the shops and riding rides and walking some more worked a lot of it off. I bought a lot more house items, but, I found a lot of shops had some very nice appearance items!!! *Hands Schmet a small box with a little hat in it with a small feather in the band that looks like it comes from the Bavarian Alps* Just a small token of appreciation for inviting us all to your home.

Today we are in Erie, Pennsylvania at Waldameer & Water World. Around 2 pm, we will be going to Splash Lagoon Indoor Water Park and Resort. Which has a Virtual 5 Star Resort that we will be spending tonight at, the water park closes at 10 pm. So we have a full day of nothing but water parks with slides, wave pools, and other fun water type things like bumper boats. For any of us that run down before 10 pm, we can relax in the Resort. Dinner at 6 pm, you can hit the water park again afterwards or you can eat junk food in the water park at the concession stands.

Tomorrow we are off to Hershey's Chocoloate World in Hershey, Pennsylvania. I did not schedule anything at all except Hershey's, we have to take ample time when we are dealing with Chocolate!!! Tomorrow night we have a Virtual 5 Star Resort and Spa booked so more relaxing.

Saturday, I thought we might use to visit some Amish markets and farms, for some very nicely made house items, quilts, jams, sausages, breads, and cheeses. Schmet, they have some of the best Baby Swiss there is.

    Happy water parking ROAD TRIPPERS!!!

Cheese and roast beef sandwiches. Yum !

    Raspberry jam oh gee !

Don't need a quilt, but I could use a portable air-conditioner to carry on hikes with me. Its hotter than blue blazes on the trails this summer !
  19. Breanna Well-Known Member

I can't wait for Amish time. They are just awesome with their woodworking and crafting and well pretty much everything.

I have eaten way too much this road trip too. Good thing in virtual world the calories fall right off LOL.
  20. Schmetterling Well-Known Member

looks down herself " I don't know about that "
squeezes into bathing suit and goes to the hotels swimming pool to exercise .
jumps of high dive and splash CANON BALL ! ! ! !!!!!!! a great big tidal wave rains down on people around the pool water everywhere .:oops: oops.
