I can't get writs at all now. Having to now wait a month before a fix gets put in doesn't make it feel any better.
I have the same problem, but with the daily transmuting quest. The NPC tells me I need to finish the quest before I can get a new one, but the quest is not in my journal. I've noticed other minor bugs with the quest mechanics the last few days, and I suspect they're related.
same problem, brand new to game as well ... is this normal stuff? what looks to be a simple bug and we have to wait for a month to get it fixed? As a new player/toon im trying to gain SP to enjoy all the stuff in the game that, despite being an all access paid sub, I must gain millions of Status Points to get ... and the chief source of gaining these points at lower level is bugged and we have to wait a month??
9th of january? Seriously? I really hope, that you are joking, this is affecting a lot of players on every day basis. Please fix it.
most if not all devs, coders, artists and what have you, is now probably on holiday break, leaving probably only skeletal tech crew on stand by for any server crashes or stuf flike that. Writs being bugged, while inconvenient, most likely don't count as game breaking at this time and can wait until they come back to offices after Jan 1st and work resumes, patch gets built, put on test, then in live servers
For some things, we can push a fix without needing a pach. This was tried with writs and failed to fully fix the issue. It now needs a patch. A patch requires not only developers, but QA people to check the fixes over, a build specialist to put together all the files going into a patch, ops to push the patch, etc. Due to the holidays, patches were/are not allowed for the second half of December. Our normal patch schedule is the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, so yes, the next patch is January 9. I realize this is frustrating, and I wish there were a faster fix for it, but we can't justify pushing a patch through the holiday lockdown for writs.
Know what? In my opinion bugs happen and sometimes they cant be fixed right away. For me all is fine, if the devs just communicate (or their staff, whoever ;-)) - which you did. Just wanted to say thank you for that, because in alot games bugs happen and are unfixed week after week without anyone even saying a word. Sometimes a simple "we are working on it, it's just unexpected hard to fix" is just enough. So - thank you for being vocal.
Sage liv 32 on the Varsoon server. Hi. My main character can't receive crafting quests (rush orders or work orders)...even the npcs have the feather on their heads, they don't talk to me at all if i greet them. Please resolve
EDIT: IT'S FIXED Sadly, todays patch notes do not seem to include anything about fixing Work and Rush orders Will have to check if the fix was missed off the update notes when we can log in. https://www.everquest2.com/update-notes/eq2-update-notes-1-10-2023 Strange though that there has been a patch today yet the notes are dated for tomorrow. Still the 9th Jan PST and GMT. YES! I CAN GET A NEW WORK ORDER! LOOKS LIKE THE FIX WAS JUST MISSED ON THE NOTES. Confirmed! I just crafted a work order and was able to go back and get another.
They are fixed from this patch on Test server. IF you didn't have this bug on your character. I can do the writs on characters who didn't do a writ during the time frame they were broken but I cannot on the character who did a writ and got stuck.
The servers back up? I thought we still had over an hour to go...Well good, I guess they fixed it before it hit live...hopefully it will fix on test soon then.
I'm experiencing this bug after the patch; I can't get a new work order because the agent wants me to do a previous one which I don't have. Bummer!!!
We are looking into why/how some players are still broken. If a couple of you who are still experiencing the bug could include character name and server info, it may help them see where the issue lies. Thanks!
Not sure if this helps, but on characters where I had an unfinished writ, it works fine. On those characters that did not have a writ, I can no longer get a new writ. (I never had the issue getting writs prior to today's patch)
