Here is a revised list of the /-commands. The original Post was of Lady, but she seemed to have left the house so i revised the wonderfull writeup she did and added some new and left out commands.

All about useing and writing ingame macros you can find in this very nice post:

    http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=Newbie&message.id=69655

For a more technical view on the slash commands go to this nice post of Kosmo on the EQInterface board:

    http://www.eq2interface.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1698.
This is a nice list of all /-Commands that deal mainly with the UserInterface and Options. Thanks overfloater for the head-up

As a request from Fayn i try to put in the known abbreviations into this list. I will write the leading characters after the slash as capitals if they can be used to abbriviate the command. For example: the command /ooc can be abbreviated as /oo or just /o. This will be listed as /Ooc.

Credits go also to Fayn who reworked a lot of the list here and is constandly contributing new things to it. Thanks you.

Following System was used for the parameters:

    parameters in <> are optional
parameters in [] are require for effect
parameters in '' (single quotes) are literals rather than variables
parameters followed by * (astrisk) will accept a pattern rather than the full spelling

We have also tried to standardized the variable names to make a little more sense of what the parameter is.

name - a name of some kind: first, last, guild, etc.
count - a quantity or amount
    amp - amplifiaciton
    text - any text
    # - a number or index

    slot - an inventory slot

An addition of voiced emotes and animated emotes, will follow soon(TM).

    ------------------------
    - [ Login / Logoff ] -
    ------------------------

    (Thanks to Sorvani )
To camp straight form character to character without stopping at the character select screen,
set up a macro to do the following.

    /camp
    /cl_autoplay_allowed 1
    /cl_autoplay_char <Character Name>

The character name MUST be capitalized correctly.

Additionally you can even camp to a toon on another server but it takes a 4th line.
so the easy thing to do is not put the /camp in your macro and just type it yourself,
    then click the macro.

    /camp
    /cl_autoplay_allowed 1
    /cl_autoplay_world <Server Name>
    /cl_autoplay_char <Character Name>

/savehotkeys [filename] - saves the current Hotkeys to a file
/loadhotkeys [filename] - loads the Hotkeys from a file

A very nice Idea of dancingbear is to make a set of Hot Keys every level you attain to go back to a setting when you mentor someone.

ie, when you ding 20, set up your new skill on a hotkey and /savehotkeys <name>_20.dat
    when you ding 21, /savehotkeys <name>_21.dat
    when you ding 22, /savehotkeys <name>_22.dat

This makes changeing a level not that a big issue anymore.

I believe that these commands now toggle the condition for the pet now instead of giving the command (since the recent pat changes)

/pet stayhere: pet will stop following you and remain where it is
/pet followme: pet will follow you
/pet guardme: pet will guard and follow you
/pet guardhere: pet will guard its current location

and these still issue the command

/pet attack: pet will attack your current target
/pet backoff: pet will cease attacking its target
/pet report: pet will announce his health in a percentage
/pet who: pet will announce its master
    /pet getlost: pet will disappear

(I'm not 100% sure /pet who works anymore since they 'muted' pets.)

    /toggleinventory is missing
Heres a must have macro: make a new macro with 2 lines in it. Call it BAGS.
    /toggleinventory
    /togglebags

Drag this macro button to your buttonbar and now with 1, yes 1 click, you have yoru inventory window and ALL bags open. One click again, all closed.
The bags do not like to be in the lower part of the window. make sure you arrange all these windows at the top part of the screen. You can then do a "lock all windows: through the options, interface, game windows, menu to keep your bags from opening on top of other bags.
    Hope this helps,

While examining strings contained in EverQuest2.exe recently I discovered the following '/' commands.
    • /chat_addtab
    • /showchatoptions
    • /new_chat_win
    • /open_chat_win
    • /primary_chat_win
    • /window_settings
    • /editmacro
    • /toggleshutdownwindow
    • /camera_recenter
    • /bag_open
    • /save_colors
    • /save_options
    • /save_keymaps
    • /save_uisettings
    • /load_colors
    • /load_options
    • /load_keymaps
    • /load_uisettings
    • /load_confirmation
There were others not mentioned anywhere else, but I only wrote these down. I was after commands that would help me construct in-game macros that would ease the frustration of dealing with so many UI bugs day after day (for months). No luck yet.

Some commands take arguments. /chat_addtab needs a window number, for instance. Experiment.

I came across "/bag_open %d %d %d" among the strings, which tells me the command takes three arguments, all integers. So I tried /bag_open 1 1 1 and got a surprise. Give it a try! :smileyvery-happy:

    Haven't seen these mentioned.

/loc - gives your location in numbers. You can also get this if you hover the mouse over the compass.

/camp desktop - quits EQ safely and exits the program, without going to the character select screen.

With the new guild changes today (5/4/05) I noticed you could change the permissions on the guild officers channel. Having never heard of this I started messing around with it.
/officer (can shorten it to just /of) seems to be the gem that allows you to talk on that channel. Seems to work but the color is not changeable, gotta /bug that when the servers come up.
Also when trying to change that chat color I noticed there is also a guild leader channel. Since I'm one and we have multiple leaders I tried to figure that one out. I was unable to discover that command before the servers came down though. When I think about it silly me didn't think to try /leader, doh!

Fix the /pizza command, the one listed is pretty old what it does.. not like I will use it anyway, and not like if I could even :S

An indespsensible command for me (especially on "The Journey is Half the Fun") is /waypoint %d %d %d. This command (using the three coordinates you get either from /loc or by holding your cursor over the compass) will create a glowing waypoint to the location you give it.

If you assign it to a button and put it on your hotbar, you can have one click access to the waypoint. It is also helpful when crawling in a dungeon that you may need to leave quickly (it saved my life more than once in Blackburrow).

Also, besides good and evil, you can type /who neutral to see anyone who's betraying or who was otherwise kicked from civilization due to the Bone Bladed Claymore quest.

Added all commands above here. Thanks for the input.

According to eq2interface.com the /loadui is bugged.

Also another thread has mentioned /savehotkeys and /loadhotkeys although I haven't tried them out yet. (edjted to put 's' on the end of the commands)

also, i have heard /house_kick works to kick yourself out of a house if some idiot has obscurred the door with furniture to keep you in (even if you are not the owner).

Anyone have a complete list of emotes with descriptions?
  14. ARCHIVED-Vendolis Guest

    Updaten the list again.
  15. ARCHIVED-Fayn Guest

This post is an awesome start!

I have a few things I would like to add, as well as hopefully set some standards for syntax.
Can you make a category for defined emotes? Something like...

    - [ Defined Emotes ] -
    -----------------------------

... and then move /cheer and /brb to it. I'll see if I can get a list of them later.

I'd like to discuss command abbreviations. Can we rework what you have by capitalizing the minimum number of letter needed to execute the command? For example: the command /ooc can be abbreviated as /oo or just /o. Thus I'd like to see you list it as /Ooc. I'll get the abbreviations if you are willing to do the updates.

I've played around with the /bag_open command. The first parameter seems to be static and hasn't had any noticable use as of yet. The second parameter is the container slot ID: 0-5 opens contianer 1-6 respectively. The third parameter seems to override the others, by opening an unusable 36 slot contianer with fogged slots. The number given for the third parameter does seem to be some kind of ID for the particular box it opens.

Here are some options for /show_window and /hide_window. I pulled this list of UI XML, and then painstakenly got the name for each window. These were the only windows seemed functinal enough to note, but there were others. Capitalization of the last node in the window name DOES matter.

best command in the game that i've found is the ability tocamp straight form character to character without stopping at the character select screen.

Set up a macro to do the following.

    /camp
    /cl_autoplay_allowed 1
    /cl_autoplay_char <Character Name>

The character name MUST be capitalized correctly.

Additionally you can even camp to a toon on another server but it takes a 4th line. so the easy thing to do is not put the /camp in your macro and just type it yourself, then click the macro.

    /camp
    /cl_autoplay_allowed 1
    /cl_autoplay_world <Server Name>
    /cl_autoplay_char <Character Name>

Here is a list of predefined emotes and the effect they give. I've capitalized the fewest letters needed for the command. I've underlined those which do not have an animation. If you are wondering why I used [Me], [him/her], [his/her], and [he/she] instead of the escape sequence codes, that is because the escape sequences give the descriptors of your TARGET and not YOURSELF. If you'd like to note it, the commands that are not found on the socials window include /bleed, /brb, /congratulate, /snarl, and /whine.

Added the emotes to the top post. Thanks a lot.

I found I had two tiny mistakes so I've corrected them. I've also found these 34 emotes: blush, borred, clap, comfort, crazy, groan, grovel, hungry, lost, massage, moan, mourn, overhere, puzzle, sneeze, bite, blink, bonk, bounce, burp, cough, curious, drool, eye, frown, gasp, grin, jk, kneel, plead, poke, roar, veto, and welcome. I've taken the liberty of merging the two lists aphabetically and I'm 99.9% sure this is the FULL list. Please update the emotes section.
