Test Update 9/12/2023 - New Bugs Only

    When eqgame.exe comes up after pressing Play on the launch pad, the eqgame.exe window comes up as a black screen for a few seconds before closing.

    I tried:
    -Validating game files
    -Swapping back to Live version (loads up fine)
    -Restarting
    -Running as administrator

    I'm running Windows 7. I have DirectX 11 already loaded.

    Hello, When attempting to load in After patching, Restarting my system and validating files I cant seem to get to char select before my Client just closes. Live works just fine. I am running Windows 10 pro and have DirectX 11 already on my system.

    Test was working well, I zoned into Stillmoon Temple and got booted to desktop with no error. every time i try log it finishes loading then boots before i get in game.

    After running the patch on test, I am also unable to log in. I get an error stating that it Failed to Load the graphics DLL. I have Validated the game files, done the Windows update today, restarted my computer, and still get the error. I am running Windows 11 Home with an AMD Ryzen 3 7320U Processor with Radeon Graphics, 2401 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s). I am also running directx 12.

    I can also log into Live with no issues.

    If I copy the EQGraphicsDX9.dll from my Live folder into my Test folder, I can make it to the server select screen before crashing.

    We are looking into the crash reports so far, the hint I have this far is that your dbg.txt may have something useful like this example:

    00003:Loading graphics DLL.
    00004:Unable to load EQGraphicsDX9.DLL (126)
     
    00005:Failed to load graphics DLL in WinMain(), exiting!
    Error 126 is possibly caused by missing dependencies of that DLL. Note that though the DLL is named EQGraphicsDX9.DLL, it is in fact DX11.

    Opening my inventory takes up more than 1/3 of the screen and am not able to interact with it at all.

    It opens just fine with both the shortcut key and through the EQ button.

    Not able to click the X in the top right corner to close it or interact with anything in that UI part since you just click right through to anything in the background.

    Use new UI engine is highlighted in my options.

    * using the UI scale slider corrected the size and interaction problem.

    • I got into Test without issue.
    • Joined a dev's guild <Test Guild B> and attempted to zone to Shar Vahl, Divided to do some shopping. Game appeared to start loading the zone, then CTD.
    • I am now unable to load into Test server at all, on any character using the zone they were in (Marus Seru, Shar Vahl, Divided).
    • Return Home buttons are grayed out on any character that crashed.
    • Attempting to Return Home on a character that has not yet crashed was successful.
      • Attempted to zone to PoK and was successful.
    • At this point the characters that crashed now have their Return Home buttons available.
    • Attempted to load one of these characters into Marus Seru and CTD.
    • Attempted to use Return Home on a different character who had previous CTD, this was successful.
      • Attempted to use TBL teleport lamp to Stratos. Success.
      • Attempted to use the portal pad from Stratos to Plane of Tranquility, CTD.
    • Attempted to load a character previously already in PoK. Success.
    • Attempted to re-load the character now stuck in PoTranquility. Failed.

    There is an issue with all Draconic Lava hero's forge sets. This is my ranger in the Draconic Lava plate set and as you can see the places where the animated flames would usually be are see through/invisible.

    It does look pretty funny though. I've also noticed artifacts and objects off in the distance like being able to see the layer of stuff beneath the zone world.
