dlls - all there timestamps - d3d9.dll from 17.01. (reinstalled as support told me), otherwise same DxDiag 10.00.22000.0001 64-Bit-Version
I had that error since the x64 patch, too. After several fruitless attempts and a ticket with the support I decided to reinstall EQ wholly. During the search for a drive to save the eqclient.ini etc. I found an old EQ folder I saved in November 2021. Just for fun I started the eqgame.exe with option patchme there and got to my surprise into the server select. During log in I got several failure messages and was sent back to LaunchPad automatically. After a thorough update the game started then normally. Unfortunately I cannot say what the cause was, that brought up that error. But one point is clear: safety copies do help!
That almost worked - found an old copy from January, got with your method to server select, got sent to LaunchPad, patcher patched... and eqgame.exe was closed with the known error.
Re-capping, we've talked about visual c++ redistributables, and also direct x. Could there be a dependency on .NET ? The installs for me on Win 10 are found here: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET A few directories, but noted - Framework and Framework64. The former having; 1, 2, 3, 3.5 and 4.0 directories. The latter having; 2, 3, 3.5 and 4.0 directories. If i go specifically into the Framework64\v4.0.30319 directory, there are a load of exe, dll and other files in there. The newest dll i have there is System.Core.dll, dated Dec 13 2021. properties of that say its from the .NET framework File Version: 4.8.4470.0 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm still thrown by it a little. The game worked for you prior to the patch, as a 32 bit. The exe and a few DLLs were delivered in the patch that changed it to 64 bit. Now it bails out with the error - 0xc000007b Which suggests it's a 64 bit process, finding 32 bit files and wanting the 64 bit stuff but not available. What's annoying is nothing helpful to state what it was looking for, what it found, and what it failed on.
I'm reading back over your system spec. Prozessor AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics 3.90 GHz I'm not picking issue or finding fault with the hardware. I am thinking about the layers of software. i.e. - App -> Microsoft -> Vendor drivers. e.g. - Game -> DirectX - > AMD Radeon You may have already done this, but have you gone over the AMD drivers you have installed for the graphics card? Option of, removing what's there and install what comes from Microsoft? or, other way, remove Microsoft and install versions from AMD ? All in all it gets me back to the original thought. The game worked as 32 bit. Now it's 64 bit, it's looking for other 64 bit installs and finding 32 bit only. A possibility you have AMD 32 bit drivers for graphics installed?
Support had me check the NET Framework, too. Ok, neuest dll in my 64v4.0 30319 directory are System.dll and System.Windows.Forms.dll from 19.01., than System.Core.dll from 13.12. Yes, the error-message tells absolutly nothing - it's like wanting to enter a fancy club but the bouncer says "No, you cannot pass" without telling me if I am wearing the wrong shirt or whatever...
Is it possibly a Registry Entry problem? Search the registry for things EQ related that may have an orphaned directory from an old install. Or search for the error 0xc000007b in the registry?
I searched the registry for the error - no "0xc000007b" found. All Everquest-related entries point at not-orphaned directories.
This is completely out of left field, but I was having problems with a 5700G build of mine and noticed that the bios settings were not set to IGP as display driver. After doing that and reseating the ram the problems went away. I am assuming you also are not using a video card. The IGP on these processors should have zero problem running even modern games at 1080p.
I know the official Microsoft link for DirectX 9.0c posted before but it has had 'issues' in the past of not installing/properly overwriting everything. Try This link from techspot When you download and run it you have to make a new folder for it, then open that folder and run the DXSETUP.EXE https://www.techspot.com/drivers/downloadnow/2098/?evp=b701d7088084c34c63067a6380f0bf21&file=1170
I have been looking for a fix to this and following this thread since the patch. I went onto Youtube to see if there was anything about this Error code and found a video that fixed this issue for me. I followed his links in the description and it worked for me. I am now in game. Hope this can help those that are still looking for a fix.
Ok, so basically: download all DirX-dlls etc ever made for 64-bit and copy them into the game-directory. That almost sounds to easy. Lets see... I hate slow downloads, gonna take some minutes...
Ok... dll-pack downloaded and put into the eq-folder... started eqgame.exe, got "please run patcher"... uiuiuiui... no error... suspense! - AND I AM INGAME! Yay!
