I think this is the best option. Since they are giving us all that so we can make our own lanterns without being stuck to the standard uniforms ,i.e, "have to wear X to use the emblem", for instance, having the mist auras be exclusive of some clothes would be counter-productive and we'd fall into the same problem back again.

I'm guessing the mist auras will be a material to apply to clothes so we can make our own custom lantern uniforms.

I'm someone who has merged over to Neverwinter as well. It's sad to say that Neverwinter has shown to provide more in a matter of a week than DCUO has in over it's course of 5 1/2 years. And all of it's content including every upcoming DLC is free. Why are we paying so much to play DCUO again if an MMO like Neverwinter provides more for FREE? If only Jackster can revamp DCUO to be on the same scale of open world and queue instance content as Neverwinter. Welp, we'll see in 2017 won't we?

Solar was a big fan of City of Heroes and Champions Online from what I can gather, and apparently Jack "ruined" those two games. I think that's what he is referring to.

Personally I only played CoH for about 4 months many many years ago and I have no idea if Jack even worked on it at that time. I will judge Jack by what he does here and now, not by what he has done in the past, and so far everything I've seen him do or have a hand in has been positive. Well, apart from the Ultimate Soders, but I think the devs got the idea with the frosty reception those got.

Does Neverwinter allow you to create a superhero character and interact with DC Universe icons like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman? THAT's why some of us are playing this and not some other MMO.

Look at NW best mounts, you need keys to open their LB and gamble at one. Or buy a set of 20 keys for $25 and gamble that way.

That explains the Time Capsules.

I got some of them boxes in NW...... and though that DCUO took inspiration from that.

Did not realise that Jackster was literally the guy who was behind them boxes in NW.

In NW..... I got about 10 boxes in just a few hours.

So that would mean spending about $12 every few hours to open them boxes in NW.

Let's hope the price will not be as steep in DCUO for them Capsules.

You can say that, but apparently THAT's not enough to keep everyone around. What do you suggest they do to fix that? Maybe, taking a few notes from Neverwinter would be a good thing for starters.

That was the point I was trying to make. The question was why anyone would play DCUO when Neverwinter was so much better... I gave my reasons. I have no issue with Neverwinter, but I can't play a superhero in the DCU in it, so I also have no interest in it.

And I absolutely agree with both of you that there are things DCUO could learn from other MMOs, but, like you say, in many ways the devs hands are tied behind their backs. Any time you are working with licensed characters, there are hoops on top of hoops to jump through just to get basic things approved.

No, I asked why are we paying so much to play DCUO as it offers far less than a free to play MMO such as Neverwinter. Along with that, I insisted that DCUO should make some major changes if those DEVS want ALL of us to continue doing so.

Mepps can u please pass on the word that this sits awfully with your loyal players and some of us take it as blatent disrespect. Out of all the bundle auras and new cosmic whatevers there is alot, ALOT of options which is appealing being refused to your customers.
New players are cheated
Vets who bought every desired item and then some from a skimpy market place is cheated and left feeling some sort of way

All for what. Creat a even more toxic community filled with i am spe iam people? Run a test with something like a smoke nimbus in the market place and u will see how awful booster bundles are.

Yeah they probably did steal the idea of the LB from DCUO or another MMO game, but they keep them updated and if you play the game you end up with around 600 by level 70. However, when they update the LB in NW they change the name of the LB and older ones still exist. This means you can later on sell those LB if you so desire due to them having unique items that is only related to that LB, which include the Panther Mount, Moon Bear, Armored Griffon, etc...The chance of landing one of those items is rare.

As a VIP I can open 1 a day for free and get 1 epic dungeon key a day for free. This just allows me to run epic dungeons without using any AD to buy a key.

Seeing how far I have played the game now I can state this. Level 1-60 I barely saw reusage of maps. That took me roughly 1 week of playing with roughly 4-5 hours a day for 6 days. I of course did all dungeons and small raids daily. Once I started to get the Heroic Dragon daily I did that as well.

Levels 60-70 they reuse one or two dungeons but you are going to the same place or around the same place for said areas. This did not bother me as you would expect similar layout or literally the same dungeon.

Mechanics - they don't really exist until the you hit one of the later Dungeons at level 40. They slow introduce them to the game. Each dungeon getting a slight mechanic on the boss, nothing hard but you played other MMOs you will notice it.

As for the game it is 100% free but if you want to make it as easy as possible, have as much inventory space as possible, etc... and don't want to grind out for AD like a mad man, it will cost you money. I drop about $300 now into NW and it does not phase me one bit. The reason is all items I bought can be used on almost all my toons. There are 3 exceptions to that which was around a $20 value but everything else I spent is usable by all my character and that IMO make the money worth it.

I do plan to play alts later down the road. I'm 1.2K alway from reach the IL I aimed for with my main. Than I will start working on an Alt. My friend is also level 70 and 100 IL behind me. So, we both have the same goal and once we achieve that we will start working on our alts.

The more I play NW the more I realize just how small DCUO for dailies and solo content. I see plenty in NW.

If you are a small content player NW might be your ticket, plenty of stuff to do.”

I contemplated playing that as well since one of my leaguemates has left this game for that one and does not plan to renew membership till next year.

I swapped in some AD as they are called for Zen, which is the name of the Market Place cash. Player started the game off investing into Zen, around 2200 Zen to be exact. He than bought keys, excessive amount of keys to open up the lockboxes. From there he placed the LB items into the AH and made some AD. He used his AD and converted them to Zen and bought more keys. End result is after a week of doing this he walked away with quite a bit of AD without doing to much. He also hearded a bunch of stuff, bought bags, etc...

Getting in early on a game like this allows a player to get items on the cheap and once the F2P group hit, he can now sell some of the items at a higher price point.

This is the double market I was talking about.

1) Players can buy Zen and buy MP like normal or use the zen and buy AD
2) Players can buy AD or farm from it. Using AD you can convert it to Zen or buy items on the Auction House.

For a while it was quite cheap to buy Zen with AD. I was picking up Zen myself for under 100 AD per a Zen, norm exchange from what I hear is around 300-400. So it is still low at this point with it being slightly below 200.

The player simply got lucky with his LB and got some nice items he flipped for a AD and than continued until he had what he felt like was a good amount of Zen and AD without any additional purchases. Playing the market basically.

For instance, I bought an item off the Auction House, it was a pack. Inside the pack I have an item that sells for about 50K AD and I spent around 10K for the pack with everything in it. Given that, I consider my 15K AD investment a good one. I will probably hold onto my item until the market up turns for the better.

The other thing is if you play NW on PS4 we would be on the same server. The game also rarely goes down and if it does, it tells you in the game.

So far my experience there has been a good one.

I do miss my movement modes that DC has, but with a 110% mount I barely miss them.

Also best part for me is no stupid AM or AM rotation to worry about.”
