When Dr light bounty first came out(WOL2), you needed 16 people (about) to get the feat to NOT have him bust the lantern supply boxes and sometimes just beat him (some groups). Talk about herding cats trying to get 2 full groups together. I think that was before we just figured out to swarm them like we do now. It was also 1 and done for the 10 count feat...so there weren't batches of people wanting to just do it whenever it came up as with later bounties, just the one time a week.

The Bounties often had 20+ players. ;)

So another words screw the seasoned players and what they have let’s just keep pushing more and more of them out. Got to make room and make it more appealing for newer individuals who couldn’t find their backside with a mirror map compass and Siri telling them to move their hands south as their finger reaches the rim. Got it

I can already tell you one of those “three formulas “is just a cheap rip off of ice with players hide behind shields. So I’m gonna completely erase that BS right there. As for the other two that only leaves one the rage crash mechanic and to the healing mechanic that you get from powers like remorseless recovery. Let’s jump in to the whole concept of rage crash where your health is increased to a maximum of 50% of your base dominance. 50%… that right there is already a ******* stat clamp since it doesn’t let you have everything you worked for (like when it used to be 100% of your base dominance) but let’s just ignore that since apparently nobody made really any issue about that when it mattered. As for the whole remorseless recovery if you had been a seasoned player and played it when the power first came out you would’ve known that that ability made rage tanking work in reverse to fire tanking. Instead of healing for the damage you take you healed for the damage you dealt hit for hit with remorseless prior to them nerfing it so only a certain number of heals for the duration of the power only for them to nerf it AGAIN so now you only get a certain number of heals for the duration the power and clamping the amount of heals you get for that. Now that we thoroughly fix that issue so there’s no room for misunderstanding maybe we can get back to the core issue and you can continue to lie to me and everyone else about how this whole stat clamping thing further expanding in the game is somehow going to be beneficial. Tell everybody how it’s gonna be so great that we’re (people like you and the developers) going to take away from them what they earned and we’re gonna give it to people who haven’t earned it. I’m sure that would work great for any sport or even better for the economy right let’s just go down the whole freaking route of socialist gaming style where everybody is the same regardless of effort so we could water down everything to nothing.

Another post ... and another post full of wrong information ...
The main mechanic of rage healing is based on delaying damage in the form of "Rage Crash" and its subsequent cancellation (I will explain, it happens with the help of "Severe Punishment" and such skills as Eviscerating Chain, Outrage,Revenge(full cancellation), etc. Lacerate,Violence (partial cancelliatin) etc.), what you described as "Rage Crash" is a "Scar Tissue" mechanic and it has nothing to do with healing (do you at least understand what healing is? or do you also need to explain it from the very basics?).
An experienced player uses up-to-date knowledge, not outdated. Rage has had many different changes for all the time, but at the moment it works as I wrote to you and not the nonsense that you write.
Show me in my posts where I protect the Stat Clamp. You cannot, I quoted you, since you provide false information about rage, and other relevant game mechanics, I did not say anything about Stat Clamp, so your tirade is not the right place.

As a seasoned player myself, I can say that it's not a big deal, you are making a big deal out of something you can't even TRY OUT yet, not even giving it a shot before crapping all over it cause it lowers your stats you "worked" so hard for. IT is not pushing anyone out, PEOPLE are running from the content without trying it. If you don't want to deal with the stat clamping, don't play the old content, play one of the leveled-up content that will be in rotation.. or did you miss that the Btman, Superman and Wonder Woman content will have stuff leveled up for a set time. Play that instead since literally all the content can be broken up between the three series.

You are continuously missing the fact that you do not have to play the older stuff if you don't want to, they are making other options if you just wait and try it out instead of going in based on assumptions. Chances are you won't even see much of a difference. So settle down, and wait for it to come through. play it then judge it.. lot of hidden gems out in this world cause someone won't give it a chance because either they assumed it would be bad or someone else said it would be and they rejected it as a result.

We could get in to the whole psychology of the human pursuit of challenge and triumph (Challenge begets growth which begets the ability for greater challenge which begets more growth which begets the ability for even greater challenge, so on and so forth). But that's a whole thing in and of itself. While I encourage you to research it yourself, know that it is a real and universal thing. Sure I have and do all what you said. I do it so that I can take on the next (hopefully) greater challenge or repeat a previous challenge and triumph a little better. But there is certainly a curve of diminishing returns there.

An apt quote from Fyodor Dostoyevsky... https://www.goodreads.com/quotes/8251510-and-indeed-this-is-the-odd-thing-that-is-continually

That being said, I totally agree and have said elsewhere that the ideal solution would be to make it a choice for the player, stat clamped for full source marks, non-stat clamped for 1 source mark. But if we can only have one or the other, I throw my support behind stat-clamping but still respect that others support the current method and have valid reasons to do so.

Agreed, and understand the need to challenge oneself. I think that's why people want harder and harder elites, SM, a return of PVP greatness (really the only real way to 'challenge' yourself...all things being equal...going against other players not NPCs), but stat clamping old content? Will that 'further' challenge you or just re-hash something you did way back when it really WAS a challenge?

BTW...I never really said the clamps would be a challenge. I think we'll be able to get things done and I have no fear of even really being 'challenged' as we were back in the day. What I don't like is the allocation of time it's going to require. Time to build groups, time to tech mechanics, time to slower burn or wipe a few passes, time to refill ragequit spots. I spend too much time on this game already....THAT is the real challenge...how to cram in more, longer, runs and still remember my kids names or what work tasks are due the next day.

And Fyodor? Didn't he bring the ring to Mordor? Or is that another guy?;) Don't get too highbrow on a games forum.

Many players, myself included, weren't around when a lot of old content was new and at level. So for us those will potentially be new challenges. We can now create memories of our own experiences instead of relying on our imaginations and "back in my day" stories from the players still around who played back then. But even in cases where players did play it back then, nostalgia is a powerful, valuablele and highly sought after thing. Simply watch a few hours of TV (or free YouTube) and you can notice that half the things being marketed to us are nostalgia based. One could argue that nostalgia is the #1 consumer product and there's a very real reason for that. I myself lamented seeing The Machine elite slowly transform from a raid the separated the men from the boys to one that couldn't even distinguish the boys from the "little boys". So I'm welcoming stepping back in to that challenge every so often.

Obviously there couldn't be a more legitimate reason for concern. Real life, family and loved ones shouldn't always have mountains of higher priority over games. However, we all know that every DLC has a point in it's life cycle (like RIGHT NOW) where there's practically nothing worth doing. I have to tell myself "there might be a 400 mark chroma that I'll really want added in the next round of rewards!" just to have motivation to run any flashpoint content. Now would be the perfect time to tie off, find a vein and inject a really good fix of old raid nostalgia. "mmmm, that's that good s***!"

Fair enough, lol. But if not here, where??? o_O

Agreed, but just because I like playing my Atari 2600 simulator (which I did for all of about 4 hours when given it at X-mas time a year or so ago), I would not expect you to have to also play it to. I do love the idea that a bunch of people will get to experience at least a bit of the hell of a 'tough' DWFE, Paradox or Gates (get ready for the 'PANCAKES!'), but will they want to do it after doing it 3, 10 or 20 times with no hope of getting stronger in there? Cause that's what most of the oldies are looking at, and when we did it (and I missed out on a lot of these...I'm not as OG as some), we were capped naturally...because there was nothing higher, till the next DLC that is.

I do expect a lot of players who generally enjoy the challenge to get through that tough raid the first time and will have the same whoops and hollers we did...I know Bombshell was one of those the first few times we did it and got the chain linked or 'no more no less' feats (different runs)....but will they do it again and again and whoop and holler every time? Doubtful. A challenge is only really a challenge until you beat it, then it's repetition.

I've made my peace with it. I hope for a good outcome. Maybe I'll be in here posting on how this was the best thing ever to happen to the game (and if I believe it is after seeing it, I will come and admit as such). I just hope that if it's the opposite, those that lobbied and clamored for the clamps will be able to do the same and not come in blaming 'jerky-OP' players who won't help struggling noobs or get frustrated and quit, or just flat out refuse to run things if they have better things to do. Awash in our swelling source coffers from bounties and a few select 'easy' runs, but unable to really run most things more than we used to....maybe less. Again...I'm hoping that's not the case...time will tell.

@Mepps Heres a wild thought.......stick to one program, and quit changing the entire game. If you want to make so many radical changes, Why not make a new game with a different format. These "good idea fairies", are idiotic! Way to alienate long time players/ customers.

Why exactly should I trust the devs? It took them six months to fix a “top priority issue“. they spend more time in this game listening to people who couldn’t find the wrong backside they due to season to individuals who regularly get through the top 1% of contact in this game. When the Devs decide to display a new power or episode or anything for that matter they do it by hiding in god mode on an empty server hitting a sparring target and saying this is how it’s going to work but anybody who’s been in combat in this game for more than five Flippin seconds knows that’s not how it works. All the different interrupts Stunz knock downs and other things in the game can mitigate or illuminate the effectiveness of an ability. if you expect me or anyone for that matter to trust the deaths then that falls on their shoulders to step up and prove it because their track record has been anything but stellar.
