WDS Officially a Joke

So why does the decal say Season 1 then? Why were rewards being handed out? It wasn't in any way handled as a test. If they were smart, they would have used all their data and just ran the caclulations in the background for a couple of weeks. Then they could quite easily evaluate different system of calculate scores without anyone outside SOE knowing anything about it. If they wanted a live test, they could just say, "hey we're doing a test here and we'll report the scores for you to see how you're doing. This is all in preparation for real events later. We'll give you a boost at the end as a thank you for the help"

It was handled as a promotion/event... so what?
Wrapped and packaged brightly and nicely and shiny to cover up the black hole of ongoing optimization and lack of new content because of that for several weeks.
Certainly more interesting to players instead of "hey we're doing a test here"...
Personally I liked the extended night ops videos and may even gonna miss them a little.
Not too bad as a PR move and everyone got some freebies out of it, too.
Maybe some rewards "deserved" and some not, but in the end nothing to really care and write home about.

Probably Pre-season didn't fit.
