Came across this thread, man is this old. Water kills you instantly(unless you drop-pod into it) and vehicles explode as soon as they touch water(except fresh water, like the ponds on amerish). It is too far to get there with drifter jets. It IS possible to get there still, eject from an air vehicle, use drifter jets to slow down right before you touch down on the island. You are now on the forbidden Ghost Island. Walk to close to the water and insta-death.
