Stuff like this is really easy to fix. Give it a really hard hitting rocket but give it some serious disadvantages compared to the default RL. Something like a REALLY long reload or bad rocket drop or slow moving projectile. Stuff like that. It's not hard to balance powerful weapons.

The Decimator is for min/maxing damage against targets in close-range conditions. That bit of extra damage may be the difference between gibbing that max or leaving it with a sliver of health to get repaired while you reload. Same with vehicles. Targets are almost always taking damage from multiple sources in this game, and most vehicles in a combat zone are rolling around with some amount of incidental damage already done to them.

the decimator is alright. It's an improved version of the default imo. In both cases, you want to be shooting at thing close to you or slowly moving or not moving at all.
The best rocket launcher is the av lock on one though because you can actually hit things that are far away from you.

I was 1 click far from buy this weapon, then decided to come and do more research on this. Thanks god I didn't buy that ;) .

1 shot kill is what farmers inside tanks get for each 1 click over infantry. Considering the ease with which a player gets into a tank, it would be no unbalancing to get same ease to kill those armor lovers. And your avatar suggests that you love tanks, so it should be expected from you to want tanks to be invincible. Vehicles are terrible unbalanced over infantry in this game, specially Vanu Magriders and all Liberators. Ideal for a balanced game is that, being in middle of the battlefield, you are never so safe from infantry even if you are inside a tank or a Liberator.

Sorry for my bad english . I'm practicing.

2 mines = dead tank. 2 C4 = dead tank. 2 rockets to the rear = dead tank.

VS do get an advantage from it: It looks like one of our enemies fired it.

IMHO a decimator should almost one shot a tank from the rear. As in get out and repair in a couple of seconds or you go boom damage.
  9. EvilKoala

It's fairly accurately named IMO. It decimates your SC balance.
  10. NightFall

    Bias much?
Why a VS pilot?? Any ESF can go down.

If they're sticking to the "side-grade" mentality for weapon unlocks, the Decimator is about right.

It's a direct functionality analogue to the stock dumb-fire launcher, so the only significant tweaks available are to ammunition capacity and damage output per shot.

If damage per shot is hugely higher, overall missile capacity has to be reduced. For instance, were it to do double the damage of a stock launcher, it would be logical to expect half of the overall ammunition capacity. At first glance, this seems to be pretty reasonable.

The rub comes with interactions in other certification branches, such as the munitions pouch. With the given example above, each level of munitions pouch certification is worth twice as much (outgoing damage wise) to a Decimator user than to any other user.

And that says nothing of a single, low to no resource cost, no timer, easily hidden, and more maneuverable infantry unit having the capability to one-shot an expensive, timer-ridden, (likely) 2 man vehicle.
