    MAX (VS)
    * love snipping the enemy with my dual comet
    * variety of weapons and convertibility at the terminals
    * many hitpoints
    * much more kills than with the other classes

I play an engineer primarily, I am heavily certified into the class.
I like playing support, and the Engineer is a Jack of All trades support character, exactly what I like.
When I am in a vehicle, I am in my harasser, proving fire support from range(Halberd), I just wish I was able to switch out the Passenger slot with Ammo boxes to resupply vehicles.

    Engineer all the way baby!
*Unlimited ammo (9 times out of 10 i run out of ammo long before i run out of HP)
*Ability to take out vehicles at range and CQ (mines ofc)
*Good at range and CQC with the NS-11C
*Keeping mine and the platoon vehicles alive

Adaptation specialist role a.k.a. Jack of all trades, master of none.
Being in small squad and managing to pull any role and least do with it semi decently. Less of a choice, more of a necesity, when your allies in the squad mostly like to specialize in some one or two things.

    Heavy Assault

I enjoy my HA because the Lancer coupled with C4 and AV Grenades makes for an infantryman who is very in control of his own fate. My shield also gives me a little leg-room for dealing with vehicles.

Nothing but talk about Heavy Assault then? :p
  7. Prudentia

    Gal piloting
    Its freaking HUGE
and its the coolest way to support your outfit currently in the game. sunday we did a galdrop at the TR warpgate on amerish 10 Minutes before the alert. Goddamn it that Zerg :D but i just flew trough them, bulldogs and walkers overheating, with 30 burstermaxes standing on a hill and supporting and i had a blast.
Its just sad that the gal has so little real utillity outside of transporting grunts in the battle and your xp reward is completly phased out from your skill, mostly depending on the 5xp i get per kill of my costumers, while they get up to 600+ :(

well... and no one has certs in it (im currently up to 3k certs in my gal 25% of my overall certs) and its just cool to have something not everybody has... I use a Equinox Burst for the same reason :p

    NUMBER 1: MAX. BECAUSE AWESOME.

Engi's are fun because they are so necessary, but so fragile.

I play HA "a lot" (when MAX timer is up, or I hotdrop/squad deploy (no MAXes allowed :( ), and it's fairly underwhelming for someone who doesn't use shotguns. It's meat and potatoes really. We've been priced out of AV fights with the Striker that lacks the variety of available targets that lancer and phoenix share..

Good LA players are insane and I am jealous, but I kinda don't want to be a "rogue" type. A fairy fluttering around dropping sparkly C4s is just not my thing.

Infil has grown on me, I really miss the PS1 variety though.

Definetly the HA... but the LA is nice, too, because it looks so sexy in its purple dress ;) and is quite versatile!

My favourite role is what we in Rock Planet Shotgun term the 'RO', for Radio Operator or Radio Officer. It's a person who acts as a middle-man between platoon leader and squad leader.

In "tactical play" (as opposed to the more common "casual play"), each purple giraffe squad has a SL and a RO. SL's job is to lead the squad, make sure they work together and complete their objectives as effectively as possible. The RO is the only one in the squad who has direct contact with the PL. RO receives orders from PL and relays them at a time when the SL and the rest of the squad are able to listen. So if the squad is engaged in heavy fighting and the SL is busy ensuring that people get to where they need to be to win the fight, the RO can receive orders from platoon lead and pass them on when there's a moment of relative calm.

The RO is also responsible for making sure that PL knows what the squad is up to and whether they are able to complete their objectives. ROs are constantly giving sitreps and passing on any intel that may be relevant to the rest of the platoon.

It's a very fun role to play, and we have found it really off-loads a lot of responsibility off of the squad leader, allowing him/her to focus on the small-scale tactical play in the squad, knowing that someone else will take care of letting platoon lead know what's going on.

I'm dedicated Medic and will always remain as one. My outfit automatically counts on me for medic duty. If I'm working on the front as an HA or Engi and my team requires a medic, I will immediately suicide and redeploy as one.

The Combat Medic in PS2 is very strong. Is it capable of dishing out some serious damage to structures, vehicles and of course, infantry. The medic is the only class that can quickly revert back to 100% combat ready. It's the only class that can quickly heal his wounds, get his shields back and negate any past damage. In the hands of a tactically alert player, the CM is simply devastating.

As for his healing and revives abilities. I got to say that Healing tool combined with the Aura ability can quickly fix up a squad in seconds. Stacking the aura with the healing tool can bring back someone from 10% to 100% within 1 or 2 seconds.

I've also wrote a few guides in the combat medic section.

    no fav. class

    it´s 1 of the reasons why i like PS2

    Torn between Medic and Engi.

Always something to fix, someone needs clips, a doorway needs traps. An engineer is never bored.

Pushing forward: A single medic can be the difference between your squad getting picked off as you approach a base; resulting in a failed assault, or getting your people back up and taking a point.

I'm only sad that people will look at a person with mostly medic / engi time and say: Your KD is only 1.8; you're bad.
No boost, no sub; I'm running 180 spm! In repairs! D:

  15. Enxel

    Engineer

Being able to assume multiple roles instead of getting tired of doing the same thing over and over again.

Blowing hordes of infantry with my nade launcher
Hunting and ambushing unsuspecting vehicles and infantry with my Magrider, mostly taking out Deployed Sunderers of enemy assaults.
    Supporting Maxes on indoors assaults
    Supporting Infantry in outdoor assaults
Sniping clueless enemies at night with my Nova
Using my Liberator as a colossal Guided rocket
Doing radar ping and bombing runs with my scythe at low altitude through buildings, mountains, canyons and so on.
Taking the 3rd seat on the Harasser for repairs on the spot and and dropping presents for any one daring to follow.

And so many untried and undiscovered goodies to do whit an engi that i look forward to :)

  16. Bearcat

    Combat Medic

The mix of combat and healing at the front line is very exciting. I'm constantly on the move and constantly switching between my assault rifle and heal tool... the chaos of bullets whizzing by and grenades going off while I support my empire just rocks! Oh, and everytime I revive someone, it's like I stole a kill away from the enemy. :)

Many seem to equate "role" with "class", a presumption I would like to challenge. A role is a set of tasks that you perform to achieve something particular, a class is really just a glorified toolbox, more or less specialised.

Roles are "sniper", "Close Air Support pilot", "anti-tank specialist", "tank driver", "flanker" etc. Many classes can fulfil either of these roles (engineers and heavies can snipe with their battle rifles, there are lots of tools for tank hunting both for heavies and engineers and other classes, LAs are the perfect flankers because of their jetpacks, but any class can fulfil the role effectively in many situations). Some roles are restricted to one class, such as medics, but most are not.

It would be interesting to see more people address the actual question (emphasis is mine):

I could cry when i always convert the times in my country, in germany it's 1 AM in the morning , and that on a Thursday lol, i can understand that you live in the US but could you atleast care A BIT about us non US players?
  20. Phrygen

    Tanker and Max.

Both have very high survivability, and the flip a coin chances of you killing your enemy determined mostly by netcode, ping, flinch and only then aim..., such as when an engi meets a medic and they both shoot, don't apply. As a result my main class is Engi in a tank, and i secondary Max dual mercy/dual burster/dual fracture.

I enjoy flying, but i'm only above average at it (not that great), and my fps is very poor when flying, so i gave it up. Therefore i play LA on my NC now,but it only holds my attention for so long.
