I can see the "throwing" model be a problem since the ammopack share the ACE with the turrets. Imagine a MAX with an AV-turret
More than likely it was just lag. I die all the time fully inside the shield of a spawn room trying to run away from someone shooting me. On my computer I get inside the shield, however on his computer I'm still outside so he shoots and kills me, so on my computer I'm inside the spawn and I fall down dead in the complete safety of the spawn room. Lag, pure and simple.
