If you want changes to NC weapons be honest about their strengths first.

Don't understand why you call it God Saw it performed worse then the carv and orion yet it known as god saw I don't know why but clearly I must be missing something even though I have over 2400 kills with this so called God saw? I use the SvA-88 and the carv and they both perform way better then God Saw you TR/VS keep referring to.

Maybe because I move and shoot I find TR/VS weapons better rather standing still with my saw hoping not to get shot in the head by a infiltrator.

Difference in DPM on the 143 tiers between 30 and 40 bullets imakes such a big difference in combat. it's effectively similar to having a free low level Advanced Shield Capacitor over the opponent. If you don't know that you are just a number cruncher. Also you don't mention COF Bloom, especially on fast firing weapons. The GD7-F is terrible at that Combo.
The Flash Supressor is one of the worst attachments because it increases COF Bloom. needing to burst reduces DPS significantly. Players don't stand still but actually strafe you know? try it out

I love Wrel, think he's the best youtuber and provides great info on game mechanics but he doesnt have to be always right. Not many use the Lynx, the Jaguar is better in CQC despite having less DPS. not better by a margin as he stated but significantly. thats why players use the Jag.

and yes, the Lnyx is still better than the GD7-F. we can agree on that.

    just to compare:

the GD7-F is pretty similar to the Armistice with Extended Mags in CQC, except the Armistice has more DPM (40 x 125 vs, 30 x 143) and is actually better although it's certainly not the best SMG. I think it's unlike what you see in all Tests on YouTube better than the Hailstorm (just not enuff DPS and 10 more bullets over the Blitz don't come into play especially with reload while cloaking) but clearly outclassed by the Jaguar.

high rate of Fire, high COF Bloom and low DPM is a very, very bad combo

Where, please? AFAIK, this is a myth coming from I don't know what other FPS, which does not applies in PS2 shooting mecanism.
So where has this been "acknowledged"?

Rofl I knew the OP was a dirty terran player!!!
Guess his argument means **** now.

I like horizontal recoil over biased. certainly until 50m. It's one less thing you habe to concentrate on. Best combo imo is a short-midrange wep with horizontal recoil and arguably long range/ biased but more narrow recoil (if it's not narrowed in comparison it's worthless)

    why arguably?

this game really affords to switch classes if you want get the most out of it.

Using an Anchor and 20 min later a GD7 with totally different recoil angles is like changing racket models in a single tennis match.

I use the Jag over the Lynx and started to use the Armistice over the Hailstorm not only but also for this reason.

ever played Pool? the most important and also most diffcult thing even among world class players is to develop a completely steady and linear stroke. Transfer this to recoil control/ recoil patterns
  7. Catch23

    P.S.:

    pretty commonly known by now:

strafing messes up sights, all of them includig iron, except the ir/nv and the 6x - 12x. you don't shoot exactly where your red dot it while strafing

    not so commonly known:

recoil control does that too. since this is more relevant horizontally than vertically + more difficult to compensate for (if even possible) your narrowed biased recoil pattern might not make you hit more bullets over distance in comparison while at disadvantage at short range (see above)

Orion > Carv for CQC, both > SAW in CQC obviously.

SAW > Pretty much everything for long range(at least when it comes to automatics).

It's a specialist, extreme weapon. I think the name is partly a term of endearment but it's in kind of a class of its own so I don't you can say it's really worse than X or Y LMG. You could say it's not versatile enough for you, but some players still use a SAW as an all-round weapon because they're confident stand/crouch ADSing at more ranges, and don't mind taking a hit to CQC for that mid-long range power. I understand both the love and the hate for it, and don't mean to suggest it's the hands down best LMG by calling it the God SAW or anything.

Me and another responder discussed it earlier in the thread, and a few of the respected PS2 youtubers(Wrel, LevelCap for example) have mentioned it in their weapon reviews.

Another poster said that horizontal recoil is just an extra thing to compensate for but doesn't actually have a narrower side-to-side, just that the side to side climbs to one side. So it's harder to use with no benefit, if he's right. It doesn't seem like it works that way in game but I could be wrong.
  9. Catch23

so, in conclusion, if you theoretically wanted to achieve balance between TR and NC in the carbine section without changing any gun you simply had to eliminate the Jaguar and the GD7-F (latter to not distract uninformed players).

then you had the Lynx compared to the Merc

The "other poster" was me, actually :) And I've yet to see a demonstration of usage of the current SOE parameters (Vertical Recoil, Recoil Angle, Horizontal Recoil) and in-game review which really convinces me otherwise :)
I think the recoil bias info, and many other review of PS2 weapons, is made with BF3 in mind, when the 2 games are vastly different. BF3, sry to say for hardcore PS2 lovers (like myself) seems to have kind of a more subtle shooting mecanism. Like bursting has vastly more effect in BF3 than PS2. Probably in BF, bias recoil is easier to counter. I don't see that in PS2 tbh. I don't see any tangible reason why the Horizontal Recoil (a harcoded parameter of the weapon, it's not a side effect of some mecanism, it's a harcoded number in the game) is going to change because the Recoil Angle (another hardcoded parameter) is not zero.

I really need to redo my video recording and in-game measurement to definitely address this, tbh. I had done some comparing EM6 and GD22 few months ago, I should dig that up.
